It seems like everyone got into the Christmas spirit early this year, and I have to admit: I am no exception. While normally I would wait until December (or at LEAST until after Thanksgiving) to start playing the Hallmark Channel in the background and diving into all the new holiday Netflix originals, that was not this case this year.

Like many of us, I needed a little extra something to raise my spirits, so I began watching holiday movies in early November. And honestly, I’m not upset about it. There are so many amazing movies out there, and now I feel like I have a head start, rather than trying to cram them all in in the two weeks before Christmas.
Since we’re spending this holiday season very differently than usual by staying at home rather than partaking in the normally jam-packed schedule of festivities, what better way to spend a Friday or Saturday night than putting on a cozy pair of pajamas, making yourself a delicious snack or drink, and cuddling up on the couch with your favorite Christmas movie?
(I’ll answer: there is no better way.)
If you need a little help figuring out what to watch, eat, and wear, we’ve got you covered. Here are 10 pairings of holiday movies, snacks, and PJs:
Movie: The Holiday, Hulu with Live TV, Prime Video ($2.99)
Snack: Popcorn and wine
I feel like this is truly the only appropriate option while watching The Holiday. Doesn’t a giant bowl of popcorn and a glass of Pinot just give off major Amanda Woods energy?
Striped Satin Pajama Set
Again, we’re channeling Amanda Woods here. This satin striped set is almost identical to the one she’s wearing in the beginning of the movie (you know, when she’s throwing her ex’s stuff out the window).
Movie: Love Actually, Prime Video ($3.99)
Snack: Charcuterie board
Love, Actually just feels fancy to me, and there is no fancier snack than a charcuterie board. So head to Trader Joe’s, grab your favorite cheeses, meats, and crackers, and make a night of crafting the perfect board and watching the movie.
Moonlight Pajamas
A classic movie deserves classic pajamas. This soft and comfy set is beloved by our editors, so we can confirm that you’ll never want to take it off.
Movie: The Santa Clause, Disney+, Prime Video ($3.99)
Snack: Reindeer Chow
As major characters in The Santa Clause series, the reindeer deserve a little recognition! Give them a special nod with some seriously delicious (and addictive) reindeer chow. Beware: it will definitely all be gone by the end of the movie.
Cozy Flannel Striped Pajama Set
Although these might not be silk pajamas embroidered with an “SC,” they still give off major North Pole vibes. So if Santa falls off your house and disappears and you have to help save Christmas, at least you’ll look the part.
Movie: Holidate, Netflix
Snack: Chocolate assortment
Lots of chocolate is consumed during this film, so do yourself a favor by getting ahead of the cravings with a chocolate box of your own.
Assorted Goldmark Chocolate
Patterned Micro Performance Fleece Pajama Set
The movie’s main character, Sloane, is very laid-back and chill, much like these PJs. And the touch of festive-ness perfectly represents her feelings toward the holidays.
Movie: How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Netflix
Snack: Peppermint white chocolate pretzels
White chocolate and peppermint is one of the premiere pairings of the holiday season, so there is no better time to enjoy it than during your annual viewing of The Grinch. Something about Whoville just screams peppermint, right?
White Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps
Satin Nightgown
If Cindy Lou Who wears it, it must be cool. This pink satin nightgown is the grown-up version of her signature look.
Movie: The Holiday Calendar, Netflix
Drink: Peppermint hot chocolate
This movie really makes me crave a classic like peppermint hot chocolate. I’m not sure if it’s the Christmas market the main character works in or the overall nostalgia she experiences, but I really believe this is a perfect pairing.
Patterned Waffle-Knit One-Piece Pajamas
This is one of those slightly cheesy holiday movies where you can just zone out and enjoy. I can’t think of anything better to be wearing while doing that than an adult-sized onesie.
Movie: Home Alone, Disney+, Prime Video ($3.99)
Snack: Ice cream
You know when Kevin is eating that giant ice cream sundae while watching TV in his house? It’s time to channel that energy. Grab your favorite Ben & Jerry’s flavor and serve yourself a Kevin-sized bowl (or just grab a pint and a spoon—my personal favorite way to eat ice cream).
Cozy Flannel Plaid Pajama Set
Another thing that will bring out your inner Kevin McCallister? Pajamas that look just like the ones he wakes up in after his family has left him behind.
Movie: A Bad Moms Christmas, Netflix
Drink: Mulled wine
If the Bad Moms are drinking, you deserve to have a drink too! Try out something fun and festive like an at-home mulled wine. If you’re not sure how to make it, here’s a recipe to get you started.
Supercozy Waffle Henley Pajama Set
I feel as though Mila Kunis and Kristin Bell would definitely wear this pajama set. It can also double as loungewear, which is perfect for a year like 2020.
Movie: The Princess Switch, Netflix
Snack: Baked Brie Bites
The only appropriate snack for a movie that takes place in a palace is one that would be served in a palace—and these brie bites are fit for a silver platter of hors d’oeuvres. Plus, these are technically a pastry, so you can do pastry chef Stacy (just one of Vanessa Hudgens’ characters in this movie) justice.
Moonlight Nightshirt
Princesses must wear nightshirts to bed, right?! Bring out your inner royal with this cozy nightgown in a gorgeous berry red.
Movie: Christmas with the Kranks, Hulu with Live TV, Prime Video ($2.99)
Snack: Ham and Cheese Pinwheels
It wouldn’t be a Christmas with the Kranks pairing if I didn’t incorporate ham somehow. While you could find yourself a honey-baked ham and snack on that, these cute and delicious-looking pinwheels are probably easier.
Cozy Flannel Nightgown
I just KNOW that Nora would rock this flannel nightgown. Plus, it’s super cozy and festive, just like this entire movie.
