Sultan Al Neyadi’s UAE space mission launch date postponed

    Lifestyle

    by Sarah Joseph

The UAE is always on a mission to understand life beyond earth.
As the country prepared for Sultan AlNeyadi to embark on the longest Arab space mission in history, Nasa announced that the space mission had been ‘scrubbed’ two minutes before liftoff due to a ‘ground control anomaly’.

Propellant offload complete, launch escape system disarmed, and the crew access arm has swung back in place for the crew to egress
    — SpaceX (@SpaceX) February 27, 2023

Despite being set to embark on a 25-hour journey to the International Space Station (ISS) along with his fellow mates, it was planned for them to be onboard the space station for a time frame of six months.
However, due to an issue with a chemical that ignites the rocket engine, the mission has been delayed until further notice and an issue we ground systems.
Before the planned mission, the astronaut also shared a touching note to his followers on Twitter an hour before the scheduled take-off.

On this planet, I leave behind everyone I love and take off to space.. 🚀
I leave behind a country that has forged its way to stars and lit its path with Zayed’s Ambition.. 🇦🇪
I leave you all behind until we meet again from space..
Your brother, Sultan Al Neyadi. pic.twitter.com/vgbTNXlSvj
    — Sultan AlNeyadi (@Astro_Alneyadi) February 27, 2023

He said, “On this planet, I leave behind everyone I love and take off to space. I leave you all behind until we meet again from space.”
    A new launch date
As engineers investigate the issue with the Falcon 9 rocket, Nasa and SpaceX will schedule a new launch date for the mission. Per regulations, the new launch will take place at least 24 hours after the situation.
Stay tuned for new potential dates in the pipeline for the mission.

How Embody Fitness takes their training and body transformation to a new level

    Lifestyle

    by Amy Sessions

Embody Fitness is taking training and body transformation to the next level.
To understand more, Emirates Woman discusses innovation and staying at the forefront of the industry with Founder James Miller.
How is Embody Fitness changing the game in terms of fitness and what are the core values at the heart of its DNA?
Embody Fitness is unique in terms of how closely and scientifically we work with our clients so that we can basically guarantee life-changing results in just a few months now. Our core values always focus on putting our clients at the centre of everything we do. Then having a strong team ethic to ensure our clients get the very best of our team in all areas of our expertise from strength and conditioning, nutrition, recovery, and sports therapy.  Coming to Embody is like walking into your family away from home, we all have each other’s backs and are there to support, encourage, have fun, and achieve amazing results.

The equipment is state of the art – how challenging was it to define what was needed for a superlative fit-out and to execute that?
My partner and I have a strong vision for what our facilities need to look and feel like and how they should transport our clients as soon as they enter our doors. We are very design-led and attention to detail is really important to us. So many fitness centres lack inspiration, design, and basic cleanliness and we really want to continue to push the boundaries in terms of what can be achieved. We believe through the combination of a highly professional team through to award-winning design-led facilities means our clients remain inspired and motivated and can achieve the life-changing results they are looking for but never achieved previously.
You have a recovery suite that focuses on temperature extremes. Why is this key to optimizing the body and mind?
I am a strong believer in hot-cold therapy treatment having practiced this for a while myself. So we decided to incorporate a state-of-art recovery suite with the latest in infrared saunas and ice baths to bring this experience to our clients.  The latest research is showing so many new and important health benefits I believe most people would benefit their lives from this type of therapy in some way.  From improved muscle recovery, stronger immunity, reduced stress and anxiety, improved sense of well-being, fighting cancer, supporting detoxification and weight loss to improvement in chronic pain and auto-immune diseases there are just so many benefits to be gained.
What has been the innovation that has changed the game in your life, career or business – and how so?
Given I am turning 50 soon, I really grew up just ahead of the technology boom, so I would say Apple launching their iPod and then the iPhone changed the way we use to live our lives so much.  When my children see an “old fashion” fixed line telephone or cassette recorder they just laugh, and given how much of our lives exist on our mobile phones these days you can see why.

What or who is innovative to you and why?
Someone I grew up with who inspired me with their constant innovation was Richard Branson. He has launched more than 400 entrepreneurial initiatives across so pretty much every sector and has even joined the race to outer space.  A person who is always willing to put themselves in the arena, never afraid to fail, to buck norms, and be persistent in their pursuit to create opportunities for a better world is always going to inspire me in how I want to live my life.

The galleries recreate scenes from the creek, traditional Arab houses, mosques, the souk, date farms and desert and marine life. 6 adrenaline-fuelled activities that Sheikh Hamdan has ever done

    Lifestyle

    by Sarah Joseph

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, is no amateur when it comes to extreme sports.
By challenging the conventional norm, Fazza always takes a leap of faith and manages to outdo his previous activity.
After digging through the archives, Emirates Woman takes a look at all the adrenaline-fuelled activities Dubai’s Crown Prince has taken part in through the years.
    Flying a motorised paraplane

Known for his fine motor skills, Sheikh Hamdan shared a jaw-gripping video of himself flying a motorised paraplane which he smoothly maneuvers mid-air with the help of a parachute. In just about a few minutes of posting the video, it went viral and was shared on several social media platforms. After controlling it with ease, the aircraft is seen going several metres above the ground and he’s surely won the hearts of all his fans through his piloting skills, which is undoubtedly seen in this post.
Riding on top of Ain Dubai

The world’s largest observation wheel, Ain Dubai, opened in the emirate last month. Ahead of the official launch, Sheikh Hamdan perched himself on top of the wheel casually sipping a beverage. Showcasing the daredevil stunt, His Highness posted an impressive video on social media which, to date, has garnered over 10 million views.
Taking a plunge in the world’s deepest pool

Known as Deep Dive, this Dubai marvel holds an incredible 14 million litres of water and has a depth of 60 metres, making it the deepest pool in the world. head of the opening of the pool earlier this year, Sheikh Hamdan took his 12 million followers on Instagram on a tour of the latest attraction posting a video to the platform. “An entire world awaits you at Deep Dive Dubai the world’s deepest pool, with a depth of 60 meters (196 feet),” he said.
    Skydiving over Dubai

As one of the most popular adrenaline junkie activities, it’s no surprise the Crown Prince is a keen fan of skydiving. In the video above, he’s seen jumping off a chopper with another member of the crew and is seen catapulting through the air down to the ground. Having complete grip over the parachute, he manages to make a smooth landing on the beach.
    Scaling the Burj Khalifa

Ever wondered what the view is like from the world’s tallest building? Well, Sheikh Hamdan knows exactly what it looks like from up there and has previously shared it with his followers last year. Decked in his climbing gear, the Crown Prince took a snap of him standing on the tip of the spire while waving the UAE flag without the slightest hint of fear. Fazza had previously scaled the skyscraper back in 2013, in celebration of Dubai winning the bid to host Expo 2020.
    Showing off his flyboarding skills

Back in 2019, pictures went viral of the Dubai Crown Prince as he showed the world his serious core strength through this extreme watersport activity – flyboarding. While it might look easy, this sport is quite dangerous and requires a varied skill set. Propelled by jet sprays, one can twirl, flip and soar through the air, which Sheikh Hamdan exactly did.
As the extremely popular Instagram account continues to accumulate a loyal fan base, it’s always exciting to see which extreme sport is next in the pipeline.
