UAE President announces the crown prince of Abu Dhabi

On 29th March, 2023, UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan appointed his son Sheikh Khaled as the crown prince of Abu Dhabi.
His Highness Sheikh Khaled is the eldest son of the President. At 41, the crown prince is also a member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of both the Abu Dhabi Executive Committee and the Abu Dhabi Executive Office.
Revealing the next generation of successors, the head of the state also designated his brothers in pivotal roles. His brother Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan is now the vice president of the UAE alongside Dubai’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The 52-year-old Sheikh Mansour is also the owner of the Manchester City football club. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is currently UAE’s national security adviser and chairman of the ADQ sovereign wealth fund — along with his third brother, Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed, have been named as Deputy Rulers of Abu Dhabi by the ruler himself.

Sheikh Mohammed became the president and ruler of Abu Dhabi last year after the demise of Sheikh Khalifa. Announced through an official statement by the media office, this decision about the vice presidency was made with the approval of the UAE Federal Supreme Council.
