Yolanda Hadid lovingly hugs daughter Gigi Hadid’s baby bump in new photo

As Gigi Hadid’s due date fast approaches, it appears her mother Yolanda Hadid couldn’t be more excited about becoming a grandmother for the first time.
The grandmother-to-be recently shared a sweet photo of herself hugging daughter Gigi’s baby bump stating she was patiently awaiting the impending arrival of the little one.

“Waiting patiently for her angel to be born……” the 56-year-old wrote.
Upon the announcement of Gigi’s pregnancy earlier this year, Yolanda told Dutch broadcaster RTL last week, saying she was “thrilled” about becoming a grandmother.

“I can’t wait to become a grandmother,” she told the outlet. “It is quite special, since I lost my own mother so recently.
“That is the beauty of life: one soul is leaving us and another is coming. We feel very blessed.”
Just days ago, fans were speculating that the 25-year-old model had already given birth due to a post her father, Mohamed Hadid made on Instagram.
The 72-year-old penned a sweet handwritten letter saying, “Hello my little grandchild.”
This had a few fans confused as to whether Gigi had welcomed her first child with boyfriend Zayn Malik, given that her due date is so close.
One person commented asking: “Did Gigi give birth to her baby, please can anyone answer.” However, to put speculation to rest, Mohamed responded saying, “No, not yet.”
However, the post by the Palestinian-American property tycoon has now been deleted for reasons unknown.
It’s expected that Gigi will give birth to her first child with Zayn in New York City. Late last month, the couple were photographed arriving in Manhattan.

It’s fair to assume the pair are staying in Gigi’s new $5.8 million (Dhs21.3 million) Manhattan apartment, which she gave fans a glimpse of last month.
According to a recent report from E! News, the pregnancy has been good for Gigi and Zayn’s relationship after the couple reunited at the end of last year.
“Zayn and Gigi are really excited and have been loving this experience together,” a source told E!. “They both are reading parenting books, have had fun planning the nursery and picking out items together. Things are going really smoothly, and they are closer as a couple more than ever.”
It’s been reported the couple are expecting a girl, but neither of them has officially confirmed the gender.

The first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine has been administered in the UAE

The first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine has been administered in the UAE, which was given to the country’s Minister of Health and Prevention, Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Owais.
Per the UAE’s state news agency WAM, the vaccine was developed by Chinese drug maker Sinopharm and has undergone extensive testing in the UAE with over 31,000 volunteers taking part in the trial over the last couple of months.

The health minister received the first dose of the vaccine on Saturday after it was announced last week that approval was given by the UAE government for a COVID-19 vaccine to be administered on frontline workers including doctors, nurses and police.
Last Monday, Al Owais explained that the findings from the recent clinical trial – which was officially recognised by the World Health Organisation – were promising.

According to Al Owais, the results from the final stages from phase III of the trial, which began on July 16, showcase that the vaccine generates antibodies to the virus and seems to be effective.
“The vaccine’s safety has been reviewed and results show it is safe for use,” Al Owais also said.
The principal investigator and chairperson of the National Clinical Committee for Coronavirus, Dr Nawal A-Kaabi noted that the initial results are “encouraging”, but that studies will be ongoing.
“The initial results are encouraging in terms of the presence of antibodies in the body,” Dr Al Kaabi said.

UAE residents travelling with Etihad will now have to wear tracking wristbands

It has been announced by Abu Dhabi-based airline Etihad that passengers travelling into the UAE will have to wear tracking wristbands during their 14-day quarantine.
In their announcement, it was confirmed a medically-approved tag will be given to travellers arriving into Abu Dhabi International airport after they clear immigration, whatever country they arriving from.

“On arrival into Abu Dhabi you must self-isolate for 14 days,” the airline’s statement said. “Self-isolation must take place at home and all arrivals will be required to wear a medically approved wristband for this duration.”
There are some people exempt from wearing the tracking device including those who suffer from chronic illnesses and those with diplomatic passports. In addition, those who are under 18 and over 60 will also be exempt. However, they must agree to self-isolate for 14 days by completing a form.

At present, only UAE citizens and residents are permitted to travel into Abu Dhabi by air.
Currently, it’s recommended that residents wishing to return to Abu Dhabi confirm their status via smartservices.ica.gov.ae prior to booking their flights.
Coinciding with the policy of the airlines and travelling into the UAE, passengers must test negative for COVID-19 prior to travel and another test PCR test will be completed upon arrival into the country.
All of these measures are a part of the strategy to combat the spread of COVID-19.

Why Kim Kardashian is boycotting social media

If there’s one thing we know Kim Kardashian is an expert in, it’s social media. As one of the most-followed people on Instagram, she has cultivated what it means to be an ‘influencer’.
However, the reality star, along with many other A-list celebrities is set to boycott social media for 24 hours as part of a protest to stop the spread of “hate, propaganda and misinformation”.

The #StopHateForProfit a campaign which has been formed in order to hold social media sites “accountable for hate on their platforms.”
Kardashian announced on her Twitter page that she would be freezing her Instagram and Facebook accounts for 24 hours on Wednesday.

“I love that I can connect directly with you through Instagram and Facebook, but I can’t sit by and stay silent while these platforms continue to allow the spreading of hate, propaganda and misinformation – created by groups to sow division and split America apart – only to take steps after people are killed,” she said.

    – only to take steps after people are killed. Misinformation shared on social media has a serious impact on our elections and undermines our democracy.  Please join me tomorrow when I will be “freezing” my Instagram and FB account to tell Facebook to #StopHateForProfit.
    — Kim Kardashian West (@KimKardashian) September 15, 2020

“Misinformation shared on social media has a serious impact on our elections and undermines our democracy. Please join me tomorrow when I will be ‘freezing’ my Instagram and FB account to tell Facebook to #StopHateForProfit.”
Other A-list celebrities partaking in the freeze includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Katy Perry, Sacha Baron Cohen and Jennifer Lawrence.
Organisations spearheading the campaign include the Anti-Defamation League, the NAACP and Color of Change.
As a result of the campaign, which began earlier this year on June 17, more than 90 companies have pulled their advertising from Facebook until they meet the requirements of the movement to stop the spread of hate.
