Denzel Washington and Pauletta met in the 1970s
Who is Denzel Washington’s wife Pauletta?
Pauletta Washington is an American actress born on September 28, 1950.
The couple met on the set of the television film Wilma in 1977 and got married shortly after.

She is the sister of actress Rita Pearson, who has also starred in films with Denzel Washington.

Pauletta and Denzel began dating in the late 1970s and married in 1983.
The couple met on the set of the television film Wilma in 1977 and Denzel confessed to Access Hollywood in 2013 that he proposed more than once because Pauletta turned him down a few times.
“Why was it twice? Why would I have to ask again?” Denzel said to Pauletta.
“Because I said no!” Pauletta replied.

“You heard it here first!” Denzel joked.
“She turned me down, she said no, and since it was three times, that means she turned me down twice.”
They renewed their vows in 1995 in South Africa in a ceremony officiated by cleric Desmond Tutu.
    Do they have children?
The couple has four children: John David, Katia, and twins Olivia and Malcolm.

In an interview with Metro, Denzel said he had no idea his son wanted to be an actor.
“I was the last one to know, actually,” he said. “I didn’t see it coming at all. I mean, he was a professional football player also – but I just didn’t see it coming, with my oldest son.”
Similarly, Olivia played a role in Lee Daniels’s film The Butler and Denzel continuously bragged about his children’s success.
“My youngest son is a filmmaker, my oldest daughter’s a producer, my other daughter’s an actress,” he told Metro, adding, “Not that I’m bragging!”

Rita said: “I am in the middle of shooting a documentary about the underground culture of the kids [in Kosovo].
“Sixty per cent of our population is under the age of 35 which is super-young.
“It shows there is so much anger and frustration going on underneath all of the restraints that we have had to see in the history of our country.
“I have been working with producers who are really passionate about Kosovo and where I am from.

“Doing music and being outspoken is definitely controversial.”
Rita headed back to her homeland last weekend to celebrate her 33rd birthday with husband, movie director Taika Waititi.
Opening up about the trip Rita revealed she took time out from her break to film some scenes for her upcoming documentary.
She added: “I go there and they look at me other-worldly.

“Like it is not a real thing to them but the hope of just being able to do something that is what I do.
“I do the job of my dreams but I have worked my ar*e off to get where I am, but when I go back I still can’t connect the dots of that little bit of hope that they have lost.
    “It was emotional for me.”
    Empty promise
Speaking at Soho Farmhouse for a Business In Fashion talk, Rita recalled her own struggle to make it in the industry after being signed by Jay Z aged just 17.
She went on to sue his music label, Roc Nation, after claiming she had been sidelined by them and the pair later settled outside of court.
Rita, who released her third album, You & I in July, said: “I don’t like talking about it as it is so traumatic.
“It was not having the belief from the team who told me all my dreams were going to come true.
“It was like an empty promise and I thought our course was over and I had to go against the biggest people in the music business just to survive.
“You don’t want to mess with people who have so much power.

“It was either that or it was over for me.
“It was a respectful separation but you want the end goal for everyone to win.
“I ended up putting my own album out this year with my own songs.”

But she faces competition from Billie Eilish and previous Oscar winner Ryan Gosling.
I have been told that the makers of Barbie have put all three songs up for contention but only two songs from the same film can go into the shortlist.
It means Dua’s Dance The Night will be up against Billie’s What Was I Made For and Ryan’s comedy song, I’m Just Ken.
A member of the Academy voting panel said: “This category is one of the most hotly contested categories.
“Dua’s track was a global hit and deserves to be shortlisted for its chart achievements alone but the Oscars can be snobby.
“Billie’s song is a classic tune of the kind the voters normally love to pick.
“She is also well liked before from her No Time To Die performance.
“And Ryan is hugely popular with the Academy too.
“It’s going to be a close call.”
Dance The Night became a runaway hit for Dua after it was released as the lead single from the Barbie soundtrack.
The song went straight to the No1 spot in the UK’s Official Singles Chart and in the video features a cameo from Barbie director Greta Gerwig.
The Oscars takes place on March 10 next year and I’ve heard there could be a spectacular live Barbie performance to open the show.
If Margt Robbie is there, I’ll be watching.

GIRLS ALOUD are in for a seriously busy summer after their comeback tour sold 200,000 tickets in the space of a couple of hours.
Demand has been so great that the group, made up for Cheryl Tweedy, Kimberley Walsh, Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts, announced they have put on 14 additional dates.
As well as bringing the start of The Girls Aloud Show forward by a day in Dublin to fit in another gig on May 17, they will play extra dates in Belfast, Manchester, Sheffield, Newcastle, Glasgow, Nottingham, Leeds, Birmingham and Liverpool.
Girls Aloud have also added two more slots to their London dates, with the group now booked to perform at the O2 Arena from June 22-26.

Frontman and Virgin Radio DJ Ricky Wilson said: “We’ve played a lot of memorable shows, including a brilliant, intimate gig for Nordoff & Robbins a few years back, but this one really stands out.
“We can’t wait to be a part of this festive institution and rock the pews with some of our anthems.
“What Nordoff & Robbins’ music therapists can do with music’s power is remarkable.”

She said: “I went funny on my ankle and I was laid on the floor, in a gym class, on my back like a beetle, saying, ‘Stop the music’.”
Speaking to Alan Carr on his Life’s A Beach podcast, Ella added: “I’ve been told it’s a grade three sprain, and I’m there at A&E and all I’m praying for is that it’s not broken,
“It’s my ligament that I’ve torn, so I’ve got to wear this ankle brace whenever I’m doing anything like performing for a while, so we might have to get a glittered version of that.”
I’m sure she’d pull that look off.
    Scott has ‘vision for Abba
SCOTT MILLS thinks ABBA could perform at Eurovision next summer 50 years after they won the competition.
Group members Born Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson shut down reunion hopes earlier this year when they said they wouldn’t perform with Agnetha Faltskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad ever again, not even for one night.
But digital versions, dubbed Abbatars, were created last year for the group’s groundbreaking virtual concerts at the purpose built Abba Arena in London and radio host Scott says the technology should head to Malmo next year.
In an exclusive chat, he said: “We’re not going to be able to do the contest without mentioning the elephant in the room, 50 years since they won, so something has to happen if they’re not there in real life, surely.
“Benny and Bjorn have definitely said no, so they should bring new Abbatars for Eurovision.
“I don’t know whether it’s possible in an arena like in Malmo but the technology is bonkers so that would be the answer.”
The Eurovision commentator said discussions about who will represent the UK are already ongoing.
He said: “Since the summer, we’ve had meetings with loads of heads from Radio One and Two, collaborative meetings which is unheard of really.
“We all did post-it notes of who we want, who won’t do it and who might not be right, it was proper like The Office.
“There’s so many good new artists but also a real thirst for that nostalgia.
“Look at S Club and Girls Aloud coming back, JLS on a tour, we’ve got a lot of options.
“I’d like the Sugababes, obviously they’d have to find a new banger but they were known all around Europe.

“But the powers that be might decide to go for someone brand new, a bit like Sam Ryder who had a massive following on TikTok before and absolutely smashed it.”

Huge 90s and 00s band release first new music for five years after global fame and 13m record sales

A POPULAR band who have racked up 13 million in record sales have released their first new music for five years.Keane are dropping previously unreleased track “Love Actually” to coincide with re-release of the classic British film.

The band, fronted by Tom Chaplin, wrote a single of the same name which was put forward for the 2003 movie.
Keane’s track was produced by the band before they were signed, and written in the hopes of getting it into the upcoming film.
But after not making the cut initially, the brand new track has dropped as part of their 20-year-anniversary for their debut album Hopes And Fears.
Two decades on since its release, Love Actually is still one of the nation’s best loved Christmas films.

Hugh Grant’s prime minister character famously knocked on the door to confess his love for co-star Martine in one of the all-time classics.
The festive flick unites Brits around the country and millions of us gather around our TV screens to watch it every year.
However, director Richard Curtis didn’t use Keane’s track for the cult movie after being offered it, and has regretted it ever since.
Mr Curtis said he made a “dreadful mistake” after not including it in the film.
    Most read in Showbiz
In a statement, Richard said: “Everyone makes mistakes – even if they’re understandable ones. When I first listened to ‘Love Actually’ by this totally unknown combo called Keane, I thought it was beautiful.
“I tried really hard to put it in the film – but in the end it was a little melancholy and, dare I say, a bit deep for the film I’d made. Of course, I realised what a dreadful mistake that had been when 6 months later ‘Hopes & Fears’ was Number 1 in the charts.”
He continued: “It is so wonderful that the song is now being released for everyone to hear.
“I’ve listened to it a lot over the years and love it even more now than I did then.
“And this time, myself and my son Spike have made a little edit of the whole film to go with the song.
“I think I actually prefer that 3 minute version of “Love Actually” to the long, chaotic film that’s been doing the rounds now for 20 years.”
Keane’s popularity around the world has never wavered – even when they went on hiatus for six years.
Thankfully, they reunited, releasing their fifth album in 2019 ‘Cause and Effect’, which peaked at Number 2 in the UK, proving that their reunion was well worth it.
With five studio albums now under their belt, 2024 will mark 20years since the release of their debut ‘Hopes and Fears’.
‘Hopes and Fears’ peaked at Number 1 in the UK and was certified 9 times Platinum, Keane got back in the studio in 2005 whilst on tour.
Their second album ‘Under The Iron Sea’. was released in June 2006 and spawned singles ‘Is It Any Wonder?’, ‘Leaving So Soon?’ and ‘Crystal Ball’, peaking at Number 1 and scoring a 3 times Platinum certification in the UK.
Album track ‘A Bad Dream’ later appeared in an episode of Scrubs in 2007.
Two years later, ‘Perfect Symmetry’ was released in 2008, containing ‘Spiralling’ and ‘The Lovers Are Losing’ and going to Number 1 in the UK with a Platinum certification.
Keane is made up of Tom Chaplin on lead vocals and guitar, Tim Rice-Oxley on piano and bass guitar with Richard Hughes on drums.
Jesse Quin joined the band in 2007 as an additional member, playing bass, electric and acoustic guitar, before joining as a permanent member in 2011.
Dominic Scott was a founding member, playing electric guitar, but left in 2001.
Keane are not on tour at the moment – but they will be in 2024.
The band will be embarking on a world tour, hitting British arenas in May next year.

The 2024 dates will kick off on April 1 with a stop in Mexico City, before the band make their way over to Europe and the UK.
A US leg has also been confirmed for September, including shows at prestigious venues including the Greek Theatre in LA, the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and the Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Kim Kardashian’s new comedy film The Fifth Wheel gets bought by streaming service after huge bidding war

KIM Kardashian’s film has been bought by a major streaming company. Netflix has received the rights to the star’s comedy The Fifth Wheel, after a crazy bidding war that had five offers from major distributing companies and streaming platforms.

After Thanksgiving, Kim, 43, along with co-writers Paula Pell and Janine Brito, were happy with the offer and moved forward.
Not only will Kim be appearing in the film, but she is also set to produce the female-driven comedy alongside Paula.
Sources previously revealed to Deadline that Kim is “very hands-on” in the purchasing process and has “appeared at every meeting” to pitch the movie idea.
In the movie, Kim is reportedly set to play a “fifth wheel” with an all-female cast.

Earlier this week, Deadline revealed that several companies were interested in the film.
“Multiple bids [were] on the table, as five studios [battled] for the package,” the outlet wrote at the time.
However, once fans read the news about Kim’s newest project, they had mixed reactions.
    ‘CRINGE’
Fans booked it to X, formerly Twitter, where some snarked about whether the Skims mogul has the timing for a real-deal comedy.
    Most read in Celebrity
“I can tell you now that I will not be watching it,” one person shared.
Another reaction read: “Does she even know how to be funny?” with a skull emoji.
A third person wrote: “I’ll bet it’s not going to be funny just cringe.” while a user admitted, “Kim is really working.”
One follower agreed: “One thing about Kim? She’s going to get that bag! Kris [Jenner] taught her well.”
“There’s nothing funny about her,” one fan raged.
    LIVING THE ACTOR LIFESTYLE
Kim famously found reality TV fame on Keeping Up With The Kardashians and, currently, the Hulu series The Kardashians.
She also starred as Emma Roberts’ publicist in FX’s American Horror Story: Delicate, and lent her voice to two Paw Patrol movies – along with her daughter, North West, 10.
Kim hosted host on Saturday Night Live back in 2021, winning over fans with a funny monologue full of self-aware jokes.
But she also had a few more surprising acting stints while finding superstardom.
Just a month before her reality TV era began, Kim had a steamy role in a Fall Out Boy music video that also starred a chimpanzee.
And perhaps most regrettably she starred in 2008’s Disaster Movie.
Years later, she confessed on the ABC game show Big Fan that she was “mortified” by the movie, and admitted she can’t even watch it.
As Deadline noted, she’s still done “limited work” as far as acting goes.
It’s unknown who else will be cast in the flick, or when it will be released.

How Matthew Perry’s estate will be pivotal in deciding future of Friends as $425million contract is set to end

MATTHEW Perry’s estate will be pivotal in deciding on any deal for Friends to get a major do-over during the smash hit show’s 30th anniversary, The U.S. Sun has learned.Perry’s untimely death in October at 54 rocked the rest of the cast ahead of what will be a major milestone next year.

The rest of the Friends cast has been left devastated after the untimely death of the beloved actorCredit: Getty
Following the success of the Friends reunion special, which aired on HBO Max in 2021, a well-placed Hollywood source said that Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer have been leading the charge for something similar to be negotiated in 2024.
The show’s $425 million five-year exclusive deal with Max is set to expire next year, and after that, it could head back to its previous streaming home Netflix in 2025, the insider revealed.
Aniston, 54, Schwimmer, 57, and castmates Courteney Cox, 59, and Lisa Kudrow, 60, are all part owners of the franchise.
But Perry’s estate is also expected to get a say in any decision on where Friends goes next.

The source told The U.S. Sun: “There had been brainstorming on what to do for the show’s 30th anniversary when Matthew passed away, and of course Matthew’s passing changes everything.
“While a big budget TV special is unlikely, a return of the show to Netflix when the Max deal expires is much more probable.
“Even though the show has been one of Max’s biggest successes, Netflix would make it available to a much bigger US and global audience again.
“It all comes down to the deal and the cast, as well as Matthew’s estate.

“They have ownership points in the show, meaning they will get a vote on what happens to the series and whether it gets a major do-over.
“Netflix would be ideal because they have deep pockets and the biggest subscriber base on the planet, but another scenario could see Max and Netflix share the rights on a duo-exclusive basis.
“Everything is on the table but the cast is interested in not just the biggest deal, but in reaching the biggest audience.
“Their work has stood the test of time and announcing that they are putting it in front of millions of new viewers on its 30th anniversary would be a great way to mark three decades of Friends.
“And of course if means another giant payday for all of the profit participants.”
    ‘HONOR MATTHEW’
Friends originally aired for 10 seasons on NBC from September 1994 to May 2004, becoming one of the most iconic TV shows of that era and a hit with audiences worldwide.
The series reached a new generation of fans after Warner Bros. TV agreed to a $30 million a year deal with Netflix in late 2014.
But Netflix lost the US streaming rights in May 2020 to HBO Max (now known just as Max) and has since lost it in other large international regions, too.
Perry played the beloved character Chandler Bing on the show.
The actor was found unresponsive in a jacuzzi following an apparent drowning at his home in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles on October 28.
The star had been very open about his past struggles with drink and drugs addiction.
Initial toxicology reports found there was no meth or fentanyl in his system, though his cause of death remains unconfirmed while more detailed testing is carried out.
However, his ex-girlfriend Kayti Edwards told The U.S. Sun earlier this month that she fears that he had suffered a prescription pill relapse.
Following his death, the Friends cast joined his friends and family for his funeral at Forest Lawn cemetery – opposite the Warner Bros. studios where they filmed the show together.
The U.S. Sun’s source said it’s likely that Perry’s death will lead the surviving cast to revive their Friends Helping Friends charity benefit.
The original fundraiser took place while the show was still in its original run.
With Perry’s family overseeing a new charitable foundation dedicated to helping people recover from addiction and live soberly, the cast has a highly personal charity they can focus on.
The insider said: “Given Matthew’s tragic passing, his charitable foundation, and his whole legacy, is front-of-mind for the cast.
“They want it to thrive and it has a good chance to because Matthew’s estate is so valuable and will make money from Friends and his other work for years to come.
“The cast has a clear opportunity here to raise money for Matthew’s foundation and bring back their Friends Helping Friends charity benefit at some point in 2024.
“I don’t think that will be the only way they honor Matthew and the show’s 30-year milestone, but it would still make a huge impact.
“They also all want to talk publicly on camera about Matthew at some point, but emotions are still way too raw for that right now.
“They’re all still grieving, big time.”
