    Extending a helping hand

At the annual Dubai Fitness Challenge in 2021, Sheikh Hamdan joined the participating residents in the 5km and 10km run and was seen assisting an 18-year-old with a rare genetic condition. Sheikh Hamdan is known for praising the good people of Dubai. Recently, the Crown Prince praised a Talabat delivery driver for removing two concrete blocks causing a road obstruction to oncoming traffic. The good deed was caught on camera which was shared on Instagram by Sheikh Hamdan where he referred to the individual’s actions as “an act of goodness in Dubai to be praised” and called on his followers to help him find the man. Once found, Fazza personally thanked him on social media.
Taking a selfie with fans abroad

In a recent visit to the UK’s capital, this down-to-earth royal was seen interacting with two of his fans when he was in the car. He took time to stop for some photos with the two individuals and enthusiastically posed with the fans. He even patiently waited to ensure they get the right shot. In a span of 24 hours, the video went viral garnering nearly 300,000 views and around 20,000 likes.
    Being a doting dad

Since welcoming his two children Rashid and Shaikha in 2021, Fazza has been the ultimate doting dad. One particularly sweet moment was when he took the twins to visit the giraffes. The father-of-two shared two beautiful snaps on Instagram of himself with the little ones.
    Kind words for his father

Much like his father, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Fazza is also a keen writer and poet. Showcasing one of his hidden talents, Sheikh Hamdan wrote a poem for his father back in 2018.
He wrote, “This is the son of Rashid the great oneHe sees through his mind before his eyesThrough his global vision coming from above the cloudsHe creates for you glory in the skies.”

Turkish actor Kerem Bürsin defends ex Hande Erçel on social media

    Lifestyle

    by Sarah Joseph

Hande Erçel is one of the most popular actresses in Turkey with a huge legion of adoring fans.
But having such a huge following unfortunately also comes with its setbacks, mainly from online trolls.
However, the actress’ ex-boyfriend Kerem Bürsin has come to the defence of his former girlfriend, condemning online haters for targeting the actress.

I think anyone, whether it be a supporter or not writing hateful comments towards women including Hande as well, is behavior I do not and never will support. When I catch this type of crapI write a message asking and telling them to please stop. We don’t need hate in this world🤷🏼‍♂️
    — Kerem Bürsin (@KeremBursin) July 2, 2022

Responding to a fan on Twitter at the beginning of July who asked about “daily hatred” directed towards women, the former Sen Çal Kapimi star explained hateful comments directed towards women, including his ex-girlfriend, is behaviour he would “never support”.
“I think anyone, whether it be a supporter or not writing hateful comments towards women including Hande as well, is behavior I do not and never will support,” he said. “When I catch this type of crapI write a message asking and telling them to please stop. We don’t need hate in this world.”
    The breakup
Erçel and Bürsin called it quits at the beginning of 2022.

The couple met on the set of Sen Çal Kapimi (You Knock On My Door) in 2020 and rumours of their off-screen relationship quickly became the talk of the town.
The pair went on to confirm their romance in April 2021 whilst they were on holiday in the Maldives. However, the pair quietly went their separate ways at the beginning of this year.
While no official announcement about their split was released, Erçel removed all traces of her ex from her Instagram page and she also unfollowed Bürsin on the social media platform.
However, it’s clear that despite their relationship not lasting, they don’t have a bad word to say about one another.

Her Highness Sheikha Hissa bint Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the daughter of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the former Deputy Ruler of Dubai, is ensuring her late father’s legacy continues to live on.
Attending the Sussex Stakes in the UK last week, Sheikha Hissa was cheering on horse Baaeed as he was victorious in coming first in Group 1.
While her father may not have been able to be there in person, Her Highness made a touching tribute to Sheikh Hamdan when she was at the Sussex Stakes.
In an interview with Racing TV following Baaeed’s win, the sheikha was seen wearing a badge with her father’s photo which was pointed out by the interviewer.

“Is that a badge of your father you’ve got there?” the interviewer asked.
“Yes, my father’s photo,” Sheikha Hissa replied.
To which the interviewer said, “So, he comes with you…”
“Always,” Sheikha Hissa replied, finishing her sentence.

“For me and my family he means the world,” Sheikha Hissa said of Baaeed’s victory. “It’s good to see one of our best horses coming from that lineage that my father worked hard on.”
Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid died last year. His passing was announced by his brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai.
He was aged 75 at the time of his passing on March 24, 2022.

    Lifestyle

    by Team Emirates Woman

The UAE has announced a drop in fuel prices for August 2022.
This comes after prices reached an all-time high in July, crossing the Dhs4 per litre mark since the fuel price deregulation in August 2015.
However, Emarat announced the petrol rates for August which has seen a drop of up to 62 fils per litre, with 95 special and 91 E-Plus falling back below Dhs4 per litre.
ALSO READ: This is exactly how much petrol prices have increased since January
Throughout August 98 Super is now Dhs4.03 per litre; 95 Special is now Dhs3.92 per litre; Diesel is now Dhs4.14 per litre; and 91 E-Plus is Dhs3.84 per litre.

    — Emarat (امارات) (@EmaratOfficial) July 31, 2022

The price drop will undoubtedly be welcomed by many across the country following prices increasing for two months consecutively in June and July 2022.
It was found petrol costs had increased by a whopping 74 per cent up until July 2022, since the beginning of the year.
    The knock-on effect
The rising petrol prices are also having a knock-on effect on big businesses too.
In June, ride-hailing company, Uber Technologies Inc. announced price increases, announcing customers would now be charged as much as 11 per cent more for certain trips.
With global petrol and diesel prices continuing to reach soaring highs, many parts of the UAE including Sharjah have seen a hike in taxi fares.
To keep the low-income citizens in mind, the new allowance will provide a monthly subsidy of 85 per cent of the fuel price increase over Dhs2.1 per litre, as reported by WAM.
Per the latest fuel subsidy scheme, the head of these families will receive a subsidy of 300 litres, while working wives will receive a subsidy of 200 litres. The announcement came as part of the UAE president’s directive to restructure its social welfare programme for low-income Emiratis, doubling its size to Dhs28 billion.
Despite the increase in prices, the UAE continues to be the third-biggest OPEC producer followed by Kuwait.
