April’s – The Design Issue with Louis Vuitton

    Life

    by Amy Sessions

Creative Direction: Amy SessionsPhotographer: Ziga MihelcicFashion Editor: Camille MacawiliMakeup & Hair: Karolina KurowickaVideographer: Mark MathewLocation with thanks to The Opus By OMNIYAT
    Welcome to The Design Issue.
For our cover, we are proud to have partnered with Louis Vuitton to share its SS25 collection and Dima Sheikhly who is living life on her own terms, in Designing Your Life.
We were granted special access to shoot the cover in the newly completed, The Opus Penthouse by OMNIYAT, a one-of-one creation within a one-of-one masterpiece. Designed and delivered by OMNIYAT Atelier, the four-bedroom penthouse occupies 12,788 sq.ft. of elite living space and unites the world’s finest artists, artisans and luxury brands. Its distinctive floor plan integrates seamlessly with Zaha Hadid’s original creation, while the original trusses and beams have been preserved and exposed, adding a striking feature that pays homage to the building’s structural ingenuity. Truly a singular masterpiece in the sky, at the epi-centre of Dubai. This month takes a deep dive into all things design and aesthetics based, where we focus on refinement and depth, not simply surface-level detail. We were honoured to be invited last month to join Hermès, who hosted a private, bespoke riding adventure across the desertscape at Our Habitas Ras Abrouq, Qatar showcasing the craftsmanship and detail of Hermès’ equestrian heritage and which you too can experience in The Art of the Exceptional.
We also attended Paris Fashion Week, and a private dinner with Christopher Esber hosted by Mytheresa at the iconic Loulou to celebrate a collaborative capsule collection in Fashionable Fete. Beauty industry wise, we take a look at JUANA’s bold new era with Co-Founders Yann Moujawaz and Juana Martini in Designing Empowerment, while BORK brings design innovation and a cool aesthetic edge to luxury homeaccessories in The Design Pioneer.
    Expand your horizons.
As Art Dubai approaches, Benedetta Ghione, Executive Director at Art Dubai discusses transforming the region’s art scene in High-Impact Art, Malak Abu Qaoud, Director of ICD Brookfield Place Arts Programme, expands on the lifestyle property’s pathway to decentralising spaces, her passion for the arts, and fostering education with culture and community at its heart in Passion Project while Ambika Hinduja Macker speaks on curating “The Sublime Nature of Being”, a multi-sensory odyssey in Dubai in Art Beyond Senses.

I have personally never felt more fortunate to live in a city that fosters such a support for the arts, design and commerce alike and where newness and innovation are welcomed with open arms. Dubai – you are truly inspiring, thank you for expanding all our horizons.

Princess Rajwa Al Hussein of Jordan is frequently spotted out and about as part of her royal duties. And for her latest public appearance, Princess Rajwa was spotted heading to a private iftar wearing a stunning outfit by Dubai-born label, Bambah.
The beautiful Bambah two-piece kaftan was a modern and elegant choice for the occasion, which she attended alongside her husband, Crown Prince Hussein. The couple attended an iftar at the museum in Amman for orphaned children, with Prince Hussein sharing a series of sweet snaps to his Instagram in which he said the royal couple were ‘overjoyed’ to spend time with the sweet little ones.
In a second video shared with Prince Hussein’s 5.2 million followers he said, “Today’s iftar was filled with love and positive energy with our wonderful children. May God bless them.”

Known for her impeccable sense of style, it was another chic look for Princess Rajwa, who alongside her husband became first-time parents last year. The couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Princess Iman, on August 3, 2024.

UAE is ranked the second safest country in the world as per this Index

Per the 2025 Safety Index by Numbeo, the UAE has ranked as the world’s second safest country.
The safety score in the survey reached 84.5 out of 100, and was conducted based on several factors. The questions in the survey are modeled after scientific and government surveys. These surveys assess perceptions of crime levels, safety concerns, and experiences with property and violent crimes to compile the safety and crime indices.
While the UAE ranked second globally with a score of 84.5, Andorra (84.7) claimed the top spot, and Qatar (84.2) ranked third, while Taiwan (82.9) and Oman (81.7) rounded out the top five spots in the report which surveyed 147 nations/ territories.
The country ranked one on the safety index is Andorra, with a survey score of 84.7 out of 100.
    For solo travellers
In February 2022, according to a survey conducted by travel insurance website InsureMyTrip, the UAE was ranked the third safest country in the world for solo female travellers.
“Overall, Dubai has a very low crime rate and is considered a safe place to travel as a woman, with the majority of public transport in Dubai offering a ‘women’s only section’,” the study stated.
Previously, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has reaffirmed that the safety and security of citizens and residents is the top priority of the UAE government.

    — HH Sheikh Mohammed (@HHShkMohd) November 17, 2021

HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai also, shared a tweet that said, “If a woman roams alone at any hour of the day or night without fear, know that she is in the UAE.”
As the UAE continues to grow, safety continues to be the priority for the leaders of the country.
