    On the occasion of Emirati Women’s Day 2024, we invited four inspiring women, pioneers in their fields of expertise to share their remarkable journeys.
    This year, we championed Sahar Al Rasti who has etched her name into maritime history as the first Emirati woman to captain a ship for Abu Dhabi Maritime Services Company. Her journey, marked by dedication and perseverance, has shattered gender stereotypes and paved the way for future generations of Emirati women in the maritime industry.
    Then, Dr. Eng. Suaad Al Shamsi, a name synonymous with aviation engineering in the UAE, has carved a unique path in a field traditionally dominated by men. As the first Emirati woman to embark on this career, she has not only defied societal expectations but has also become a beacon of inspiration for countless young women aspiring to pursue their dreams in STEM.

    Also, known for setting new standards in the culinary world, Chef Sahar Parham Al Awadhi is the first Emirati Pastry Chef in the UAE.
    Finally, at 26 years old, Marwa AlHashmi has established herself in the industry through her multi-disciplinary portfolio. As an endurance horse rider, part-time model, TV presenter and actress, she’s on her path to achieving her goals.

    With Her Highness Sheikha Fatma bint Mubarak playing a key role as her inspiration, atheletes like herself have been championed in the industry.
    “For endurance horse riders there’s also a race by her name, the Sheikha Fatma bint Mubarak race, overall, she is the meaning of a powerful Emirati woman,” Alhashmi shares.
    Whilst narrating her journey, she elaborated on how young Emirati women need faliure in order to succeed. “The UAE has given young women the platform to flourish and hence they have to use that to their advantage.”
