Priyanka Chopra reveals she receives the most negativity from her own community

Priyanka Chopra has taken both Hollywood and Bollywood by storm. However, when you reach such a huge level of fame, negativity and undue criticism always manages to manifest.
Chopra recently opened up about the difficult side of fame, revealing she receives the most negativity from her own community.

“I do notice a sense of protectiveness from a lot of people but also a sense of cynicism from a lot of people and a sense of negativity from a lot of people. Picking on me for no reason,” she admitted on BBC Asian Network’s Beyond Bollywood podcast.
The 37-year-old recalled she was discussing her situation with fellow actress Mindy Kaling, where she was asked exactly why she receives so much backlash.

“I was talking about this to Mindy [Kaling] a couple of months ago,” Chopra said. “We were talking about, ‘why is it that you get so much negativity from your own community’?”
The actress recently opened up about her life in her new biography Unfinished.
Chopra, who is married to Nick Jonas, took the opportunity to apologise for previously promoting skin-lightening creams.
In particular in an advert for Pond’s, the plotline centred around Chopra playing a darker-skinned woman who lost her partner to a lighter-skinned woman. The storyline saw Chopra use the Pond’s skin-lightening product to eventually win the man back.
The controversy surrounding the advert re-emerged in 2020 when Chopra shared her public support for the Black Lives Matter movement last year, with people pointing out she had previously been paid to promote skin-lighteners.

The 38-year-old reflected upon her childhood, admitting her darker skin had made her feel “unattractive”, leaving her self-worth diminished.
“I thought about how pained I’d felt when I was called kaali [a derogatory term meaning dark-skinned] as a child,” she said in her memoir. “I was now promoting the destructive messages that had so eaten away at my sense of self-worth when I was growing up, and I knew the only person I could blame was myself.”
She went on to say that appearing in those campaigns are one of her “most profound regrets”.
She also added she was “deeply sorry” for her actions.

To begin, lay the foundation of the baking tray with olive oil, after which you place a brick of feta right in the middle and add a bunch of tomatoes to the baking dish as well. You can decide between cherry, chopped or even heirloom tomatoes. Depending on whether you like it, you can also add red onions, garlic, bell peppers, herbs, olives and capers accordingly.
The dish can be placed in the oven until you notice the softened feta. While the dish is baking in the over, you can boil your favourite pasta shape whether it be penne, spaghetti, rigatoni, lasagna or whichever the preference, then cook it together with the feta and tomatoes.
And voila you’re ready to serve it!

Why Harry and Meghan are being advised to postpone their tell-all interview

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey is set to air this weekend.
It’s the first time the couple have sat down together for a televised interview since they announced their engagement back in 2017.

Since then, the pair have married, had their first child together, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, and stepped down from their roles as senior royals.
However, some are advising that given Prince Philip, the Queen’s husband, is currently in hospital, the airing of the interview should be postponed.

Royal biographer Phil Dampier questioned that Prince Philip’s health is currently touch-and-go, while royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams, told the Daily Mail, that if something were to happen to the Duke of Edinburgh, the interview “would look terrible”.
However, he pointed out, “Even if Harry and Meghan wanted to stop it, they probably can’t and it’s out of their hands.”
Despite reservations from some, the palace is reportedly not fussed about the interview, per the Daily Telegraph UK.
“The family is very worried about Philip and their thoughts are very much with him rather than this Oprah interview,” a reported royal aide said. “They have much more important things to worry about.”
Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah
The first trailer for the interview was released on Sunday, with the Duchess of Sussex first appearing with Winfrey solo.
“I just want to make it clear to everybody there is no subject that’s off-limits,” the famous talk show host says in the preview. She later directly asks Meghan, “Were you silent or were you silenced?”
    [embedded content]
Prince Harry then joins his pregnant wife for the interview. He candidly says, “My biggest concern was history repeating itself.”
It’s set to be an explosive 90-minute interview with the couple at their new home in Montecito, California.
Winfrey even says at the end of the first 30-second preview, “You’ve said some pretty shocking things here.”
A second preview was also released, with Prince Harry discussing his mother, Princess Diana and comparing how they were treated to her.
“You know, for me, I’m just really relieved and happy to be sitting here, talking to you with my wife by my side,” he admits. “Because I can’t begin to imagine what it must’ve been like for her going through this process by herself all those years ago.”
The Duke of Sussex also added that while it had been “unbelievably tough” for the pair, “at least we have each other”.
It looks as though it’s definitely set to be a gripping interview.

Huda Kattan’s honest and raw post about unattainable beauty standards

Huda Kattan is known for producing some of the best makeup and skincare in the beauty industry, and her makeup skills are second to none.
Over the last 10 years, she’s cultivated an incredible following through sharing her makeup tips on social media, as well as posting photos.

With the growth of social media, particularly Instagram, editing and using filters has become the norm, so deciphering what is real and what is edited online can be difficult. Kattan, too, has admitted she’s felt pressure to edit her photos.
However, in a bid to break down barriers about unattainable beauty standards, the mogul shared an “unedited vs edited” post to unveil the truth behind social media.

“Edits like this are the reason why I think we need to keep it real and be transparent so people understand the difference between what’s real and fake and don’t believe in an unattainable beauty standard,” she said.
In the post, one photo post showcased the Huda Beauty founder posing on the beach in Dubai. The second photo showed Kattan with a much smaller waist, arms and bigger hips – a very sought after look at present.
Despite having been in the limelight on social media for a long time, the beauty mogul she herself has felt she had to edit her pictures to “fit in”.
“I’ve been in this space for a long time and I’ve felt sooo much pressure myself to edit my pictures and to try to fit into this online idea of the perfect body,” she said.
However, Kattan revealed that’s she going through a journey of learning to love herself.
“I’m learning to be comfortable in my own skin & I hope you can join me on this journey,” she said.
