7 Ways to Spring Clean Your Digital Life

There may not be any cute storage boxes to buy or satisfying TikTok makeovers of digital devices, but that doesn’t mean that your digital life doesn’t deserve a spring refresh. Over 60% of those who participated in a 2020 study by CCleaner feel less stressed after decluttering their devices. Additionally, 71% of respondents felt more organized and 69% felt more productive. Not a bad argument for some digital spring cleaning right?
Whether it’s your emails, online storage, or calendar, there are plenty of ways you can declutter your digital world. Here are seven tips to get you started on your digital spring cleaning journey.

    1. Cull Your Inbox
A cluttered inbox can be overwhelming—not to mention unproductive. To give your email inbox a fresh start, kick off your spring cleaning by unsubscribing from any emails that you no longer need or want. That way, as you work your way through organizing your inbox, you won’t have new junk messages flooding in and making things messy again.
After that, create folders for emails related to work, finances, family and friends, shopping, and so on. You can also use search functions within your email program to quickly find messages by topic or sender. Finally, delete any emails that you no longer need or want cluttering up your inbox.
Want to really do a clean sweep? If you have hundreds (if not thousands) of old emails sitting in your inbox, it can feel overwhelming to even start the process of organizing them. Consider checking out the first few pages of emails to see if there are any important messages that you need to take action on or file away properly. From there, archive the rest of your emails. Will they be perfectly organized? No. But you can always search for them by using keywords on the rare chance you ever do need to find one of them again—plus you’ll get a nice clean slate to stay more organized moving forward.

    2. Organize Your Documents
A 2022 study from HighSpeedInternet.com found that 62% of people feel stress or anxiety because of the amount of digital files they have. You likely have hundreds of documents stored across multiple platforms—from word documents to spreadsheets and beyond. To make them easier to find in the future, organize these files into folders with descriptive names so you know what each folder contains without having to open it up. You can also take this opportunity to delete any documents that are outdated or unnecessary so that only the most important ones remain accessible.
    3. Reset Your Calendar
It’s time to reevaluate your calendar (see what we did there?) and how you’re spending your time. Take a good hard look at your calendar. Are there any recurring meetings there that almost always get canceled or no longer need to happen? See if those meetings can be canceled for good or if you can at least lower their frequency. Is your calendar full of not-so-helpful reminders to drink water? How about tasks that would be better off in a task management system or digital planner (Artful Agenda is a fun one)? See if there are any ways for you to clear up some visual space on your calendar. That way, it’s easier to evaluate what you have on your plate and how you can best spend your time.
Once you have your calendar more streamlined, consider blocking off the times of day where you’re most productive so you can have focused work periods. If you take control of your calendar, you can improve the flow of your day and your productivity.

    4. Eliminate Unused Apps
You download every app with the best of intentions, but let’s face it, most go completely unused. Free up some much needed storage space on your phone, tablet, or computer by deleting any apps you don’t use. Bonus points if you delete any apps you use too much for unproductive reasons.

    5. Secure Your Passwords
Are your passwords hanging out in random spreadsheets or digital notepads? Get rid of all that digital clutter and help ensure you never forget a password in one fell swoop by signing up for an online password manager like LastPass or Microsoft Edge. A major perk of setting up one of these systems is they help keep passwords more secure while ensuring you never have to dig through your digital notes to find a password again.

    6. Start Blocking
If there is a website (or many websites) that you find yourself turning to too often during the workday, do yourself a favor and block it. Not only will doing this help you stay focused on the task at hand, but you might find that when your distractions are removed, you have more free time to invest in activities that are meaningful. Blocking websites is an easy process which most browsers offer, and while it may take time to get used to not having certain sites available at all times, in the long term it can help you break the habit of looking for easy distractions during the day.

    7. Simplify Your Desktop
According to a 2018 study from Bynder, 30% of professionals have more than 100 files on their desktop. Spend some time storing those files properly or simply deleting them. Don’t stop there. Create a process for storing files and screenshots now so that way you don’t fall back into making your desktop a dumping ground. That way, you can reserve your desktop for the files you really do need to access frequently.

    The Takeaway
Spring cleaning isn’t just about scrubbing floors or washing windows—it’s also about taking care of our digital lives as well. Take some time out of your day this week to start organizing the various aspects of your digital life like emails, documents, apps and more. There’s no reason you should let digital clutter impact your stress levels or productivity, so it’s time to simply say goodbye to it.

How To Optimize Your Home for Your Hormonal Health

There are few things I loathe more than being told that something I do is “bad” for me. If you’ve been hanging around health and wellness circuits long enough, you’ve undoubtedly been told that just about everything you hold dear is bad for you in some way. At best it’s irritating, at worst, terrifying. And yet, here I am, writing the kind of article that’s likely to spike either your anxiety or your side-eye. For that, I’m sorry, but here’s why I’m writing it anyway: because I don’t feel hopeless about what I’m about to share, and I don’t think you should, either.
Looking out for your hormones might be the best thing you can do for your body. Your endocrine system (which houses your hormones) affects so much more than your reproductive system. It also affects your body’s ability to manage stress, optimize your metabolism, sleep better, and ultimately age more gracefully. The road to hormonal health is paved with roadblocks, and most of them are environmental. I grilled Ariele Myers, a licensed herbalist, fertility specialist, and founder of Wisdom of the Womb, to discuss how your physical environment can wreak havoc on your endocrine system and how you can protect your body from the worst offenders. Remember, it’s not about perfection here. Even the smallest effort can make a big difference.

    Meet the expert
    Ariele Myers
licensed herbalist, board certified acupuncturist, and fertility specialist
Myers founded Arieles Apothecary, where she worked with some of the top Reproductive Endocrinologists and IVF centers in the country to help hundreds of women on their hormonal health and fertility journeys. In 2016, she founded Wisdom of the Womb, an online platform to educate on all things reproductive health.

How does your environment affect hormonal health?
There are chemicals roaming around your food, skincare, and household products that are considered “endocrine-disrupting chemicals.” According to Endocrine.org, these chemicals interfere with your system by either mimicking your natural hormones, which makes your body think you’re in balance when you’re not, or by straight-up blocking hormone production. You’ve likely heard of the dangers of BPA, PFAs, and synthetic fragrance, but the list of endocrine-disrupting chemicals is so long it can feel a little hopeless. But awareness is the catalyst for change, and as folks have started sounding the alarm, a slow roll of conscientious companies have begun to make changes.
When I asked Myers which environmental factors were most important (and relatively easy) to avoid, she highlighted skincare, single-use plastics, and air quality. “Our skin is our largest organ, so anything we put on our skin should be as clean as possible,” she said, adding, “single-use (and really any) plastics tend to break down more easily, so we are literally ingesting plastic when we drink through a straw or a plastic coffee lid.” She also mentioned off-gassing from new carpets or paints can be detrimental, but if that’s not something you can totally avoid, try to keep windows open as much as possible.

How to clean up your life to optimize hormonal health:
    Opt for eco-friendly brands:
Myers explained that the best thing we can do for our bodies is to care for the earth, which is why many of her recommendations to care for your hormonal health are also more eco-friendly options. “I tend to say that if the earth is not healthy, none of its inhabitants can be, so avoid the things that you know are terrible for the planet too.” It’s an excellent incentive to stand-up for environmental rights. If you’re worried about all the hidden chemicals in your products, look for the eco-friendly companies that are transparent about their ingredients. Small changes in our habits can lead to great benefits for the planet and our hormones.

    Use non-toxic skincare:
Thankfully, there are a bevy of clean skincare brands that are easily accessible, affordable, and transparent. The Environmental Working Group (EWG) has a great free resource called the Skin Deep Database which rates beauty products’ safety based on their ingredients, so you can check to see if your favorites fall within a safe range. If they don’t, it’s a great tool to explore new brands.

    Avoid plastics when possible:
Single-use plastics are arguably hard to avoid, but there’s been an uptick in conscientious companies that are trying to update their packaging to be more environmentally (and body) friendly. And there are a few tricks that can at least minimize your intake of single-use plastics. For example, if you’re a big fan of your daily coffee run, bring your own mug. Most coffee shops allow this and I personally prefer my glass mug with a silicone sleeve and lid. Trying to avoid food with plastic packaging is notably challenging (and more costly) but simply being aware of it might inspire you to shop where produce isn’t pre-packaged, at the very least. If you’re eating take-out on the go, keeping a stash of bamboo cutlery nearby is a solid move too.

Be intentional about improving air quality:
In terms of air-quality, investing in an indoor air purifier is never a bad idea. If that’s not in the budget, keeping windows open as Myers noted is key, especially after buying a new rug or piece of furniture that could be off-gassing. Adding plants to keep the air clean is a great move, as is switching to more eco-friendly, non-toxic cleaning products, and ensuring your candles are natural and non-synthetic.

    Purify your water:
Micro-plastics and other chemicals can seep into public drinking water. The EWG has a free tap water database that can help you figure out what kind of water filter would suit your home best based on where you live. Avoid tap water when you can, and invest in a quality water filter for your home like LifeStraw and consider a shower head filter (contaminants can get into your pores too!).

20 Quick and Healthy Lunches You Can Make on Your Busiest WFH Days

One of the greatest work-from-home perks is not having to pack a lunch or worry about reheating leftovers in the break room. Those days are behind me, and I could not be more relieved. I love that I am able to make whatever I want with my fridge and pantry in close proximity, but that doesn’t mean that I want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen. My mid-day priority is making quick and healthy work lunches that aren’t totally boring and that will power me through the rest of my day.
When I come across lunch ideas that meet those criteria, I become a total lunch repeater, so I am constantly looking for new ideas to add to my rotation of favorites. With that being said, I have scoured the internet to find 20 quick and healthy work lunches for those of you who need to switch it up or are in need of a little bit of inspiration for when you’re working from home.

The 9 Best Wellness Getaways for Anyone Looking to Reset and Renew

We’re big proponents of integrating wellness into our daily routines, and many of our favorite at-home self-care practices are completely free. But sometimes we crave more of a refresh than gratitude lists or a legs-up-the-wall pose can give us. Whether you’re thinking ahead to summer travel or craving an escape from winter weather, a well-planned wellness getaway will help you slip into relaxation mode.
Let’s be honest, some vacations leave us feeling even more tired and rundown than when we left. These wellness-focused destinations, on the other hand, make it easy for you to fully unwind, so you can come back refreshed and renewed. Think: an indulgent all-inclusive resort à la Costa Rica or Palm Springs, or a true wellness playground like Los Angeles or Scottsdale. Searching for a bit of culture? We’ve got options on that front, too. Keep scrolling to find the best wellness getaways, with destinations for every type of traveler. All that’s left to do is grab your bestie (or fly solo!) and choose your destination.

    Los Angeles, California

A mecca for all things health and wellness, Los Angeles offers so much more than just great weather. Sure, eternal sunshine is a *major* selling point, but LA is also a standout destination for wellness enthusiasts. Spend your mornings hiking the Griffith Park Trails, or pass your favorite TikTokers on a hot girl walk up Runyon Canyon. Or if nature isn’t your thing, hit up a boutique fitness studio like Bünda in West Hollywood or Body By Simone in Brentwood.
Healthy eating can be challenging while you’re on vacation—but, trust us, you won’t have that issue in LA. Take a stroll through one of the many farmer’s markets in Santa Monica, Brentwood, or Beverly Hills, or grab your favorite healthy snacks at the famed natural food store Erewhon. In terms of healthy restaurants, you’ll have your pick in all types of cuisines. Spend your days on the beach and your nights winding down at a luxe hotel or over dinner at Café Gratitude or the Butcher’s Daughter.
Where to stay: Santa Monica Proper (from $549 a night), Hotel Figueroa (from $200)

    Santa Fe, New Mexico

Calling all culture lovers: Santa Fe is the getaway you’ve been searching for. The architecture in itself will make you think you’ve entered another time period, and the laid-back lifestyle is a welcome break from reality (especially for us city-dwellers). What I didn’t realize before visiting was how much culture Santa Fe has. It’s actually the oldest capital city in the United States and has one of the largest art markets. There are over 250 art galleries to visit, plus a number of art festivals, markets, and museums. If indulging in art, culture, and authentic food is your idea of self-care (same), you’ll be right at home in Santa Fe. Pro tip: order your New Mexican food “Christmas style,” which comes with a combination of red and green chile sauce.
And Santa Fe is not without its relaxing indulgences either. The Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado welcomes families, couples, and solo travelers seeking a desert retreat. During your stay, you’ll be immersed in the desert scenery, with access to luxe spa treatments, adventure excursions, and ski trails.
Where to stay: Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe (from $650 a night), La Fonda on The Plaza (from $174)

    Austin, Texas

OK, we know Austin is known for its breakfast tacos and live music—which, by the way, we love—but this rapidly growing city has really upped its wellness game in recent years. You’ll find all sorts of boutique fitness studios in Austin, with plenty of healthy restaurants and spas to choose from, too. Plus, it’s got tons of great hiking trails and camping destinations. Truly, Austin checks the boxes for any type of traveler.
For a more relaxing trip than you might expect from Austin, skip the late nights out and embrace all the wellness-boosting amenities this city has to offer. Nature lovers should grab a smoothie from Juiceland or Sunlife Organics before heading over to Lady Bird Lake, where you’ll find Austin’s most active and outdoorsy residents. Café No Sé and Bouldin Creek Cafe are great options for a sort-of-healthy meal.
We highly recommend booking a stay at Miraval, where you’ll be encouraged to fully unplug. The expansive resort offers jaw-dropping scenery and an approachable take on wellness, complete with meditations, sound baths, and a full spa, pool, and fitness studio.
Where to stay: Miraval (from $769 a night), Hotel San José (from $239)

    Palm Springs, California

Solo travelers and wellness buddies alike will love Palm Springs for its tranquil desert scenery and laid-back energy. If relaxation is what you’re after, look no further. The desert offers plenty of resorts and spas to choose from, but We Care stands out among the rest as a true destination for restoration and self-care. The all-inclusive boutique spa designs personalized wellness experiences for each guest, with access to a stunning 20-acre space in the middle of the desert. You’ll find everything you need to achieve true rejuvenation: spa treatments, a fresh juice bar, a heated pool, and gorgeous rooms with custom circadian light fixtures to help reset your internal clock. Each day, start your morning with a guided breathwork session, then choose from experiences like reiki, crystal sound baths, and more.
Where to stay: We Care Spa (from $1,830 for two nights), Korakia Pensione (from $246 a night)

    Sedona, Arizona

I’ve truly never felt more relaxed than I did after a few days in Sedona—and I didn’t even get a massage while I was there! What I did do, though, was visit the city’s four main energy vortexes. A vortex is an area of concentrated electromagnetic energy, which can typically be identified by twisted tree trunks or branches and swirling land formations. Spiritually, these places are thought to be incredibly balancing and healing. You may think of places such as Machu Picchu or the Great Pyramid, but you don’t need to travel that far to feel this magic. Home to some of the most powerful vortexes, Sedona brings a healing energy you simply have to experience to understand. Even “woo-woo” skeptics can feel how vibrant and alive the land is. Personally, I’ve been on a manifestation spree since my visit to this beautiful red-rock wonderland.
Sedona is a spiritual playground, with crystal shops, psychic readings, aura photographs, and reiki healing available on nearly every corner. If you’re looking to be pampered, the Enchantment Resort nestled in Boynton Canyon offers massages, facials, and mindfulness experiences (and the most incredible views) to reset your body and your mind after days spent hiking or biking.
Where to stay: Enchantment Resort (from $560 a night), The Wilde (from $280), Green Tree Inn (from $110)

    Atenas, Costa Rica

You can’t talk about wellness getaways and *not* mention Costa Rica, a hotbed for restoration and relaxation. There’s no better place to nourish your body and mind—whether you head to a resort and don’t leave the grounds until check-out, or choose to stay at more of a no-frills hotel and spend your days learning to surf and hanging with the locals. The lush scenery alone will leave you feeling instantly grounded.
For a true escape from your day-to-day, consider a couple of nights at The Retreat, a boutique luxury resort offering a transformative wellness experience. Situated on a hilltop in Atenas, you’ll overlook the Pacific Ocean as you meditate on the deck, dip in the pool, or enjoy a chef-curated daily menu of healthy, nourishing recipes. There are a number of wellness packages to choose from, which include anti-inflammatory meals, cooking classes, spa services, and more. The experience will leave you feeling completely renewed.
Where to stay: The Retreat (from $460 a night)

    Ojai Valley, California

We promise, just *one* more California rec. The West Coast is bursting with options for wellness getaways, but Ojai is not to be missed. This quiet town—just over an hour from Los Angeles—is the perfect slow-paced destination to take a break from the hustle and bustle of a bigger city. It may not be the cheapest option, but there’s a reason wellness enthusiasts flock here. The extreme beauty of this place will leave you feeling instantly lighter. The city is only about four square miles, but it lives large with gorgeous views of the Topatopa Mountains and a walkable village full of restaurants and shops.
Whether you plan to visit a relaxing spa, like Spa Ojai at the Ojai Valley Inn, or simply want to explore a new place, the small-town charm is welcoming to all. Browse through the locally owned markets, galleries, and stores, such as Bart’s Books or the Porch Gallery. Spiritual junkies will want to visit one of the seven energy vortexes, and wine lovers should add Topa Mountain Winery and Ojai Vineyard to their list. Most importantly: Don’t miss the famed “Pink Moment” at dusk, when the whole sky lights up a soft pink.
Where to stay: Ojai Valley Inn (from $560 a night), Ojai Retreat Inn (from $110)

    Hudson Valley, New York

It wasn’t until I started traveling extensively that I fully realized how lucky I am to have grown up in the Hudson Valley. It’s hard not to feel relaxed when surrounded by mountainous scenery, small-town energy, and a sense of quiet I only appreciated after years of living in New York City. The Hudson Valley has always had a lot to offer fitness lovers, with plenty of hiking trails, rock climbing, and lakes and rivers for water sports, but recent years have brought even more wellness experiences to the area. In towns like Beacon, New Paltz, and Gardiner, you’ll find local restaurants, shops, and farms with activities for the whole family.
Gardiner is home to Wildflower Farms, part of Auberge Resorts, where you can reconnect with yourself while surrounded by meadows of flowers and wild woodlands. Enjoy farm-to-table meals, rustic-chic cabins and cottages, and a slew of events and excursions.
Where to stay: Wildflower Farms (from $600 a night)

    Scottsdale, Arizona

Another tranquil desert destination, Scottsdale puts wellness at the forefront, with your pick of spas and hotels, as well as the most awe-inducing scenery. Truly, I wanted to move there when I first visited. Not only is the temperature enjoyable year-round, but the city offers plenty of hiking trails, fitness classes, and wellness studios.
CIVANA is an excellent choice for every type of traveler, especially those looking to prioritize their wellness. You can book a regular stay or opt for an inclusive package. The resort tailors your stay with personalized wellness experiences set against gorgeous desert backdrops. Get your heart pumping with a cardio strength class, stay balanced with daily intention-setting ceremonies, or embark on a kayaking excursion. Its spa offers massage therapies, well-being treatments, facials, and more.
Where to stay: CIVANA (from $287 a night)

7 Ways To Make the Most of the Week Between Christmas and New Year’s

If you’re staring at your calendar wondering just what on earth you’ll do during the week between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, I’m here to help you take full advantage of that precious time off. Whether you want to check some things off your to-do list or kick back and take it easy, I’ve rounded up seven activities that I always try to do during this period away from work. Don’t let your hard-earned free time go to waste! Here are some of the best things you can do to make the most of the week between Christmas and New Year’s.

Catch up with faraway friends and loved ones.
Given that many people are off work the week between Christmas and New Year’s, this can be a great time to schedule those long overdue coffee dates, happy hours, and everything else you wish you had time for during the rest of the year. I love using this period as a chance to catch up with long-distance loved ones, too. Text your college crew and get some FaceTime dates on the calendar, or take some time to finally call your grandma as you take a leisurely afternoon stroll. As a bonus: If you’ll be spending this period of time alone, chatting with loved ones will help you feel a bit more connected to those who care about you.

    Tackle an organization project.
New year, new ultra-organized me, am I right? Maybe not, but I do find that taking on an organizing project during my time off (even if it’s a small one) always makes me feel productive and ready to start the new year on the right foot. My hall closet, for example, always reverts to a danger zone no matter how much I try to stay on top of things, so I like to give it a big clean-out once a quarter. Determine one way that you can streamline your life before January rolls around. Maybe that means finally sorting through your expansive collection of beauty products or taking unwanted clothing to a donation center. Trust me, you’ll feel much better after setting aside an hour or two to get organized ahead of the new year!

    Shop post-holiday sales.
Are those holiday gift cards burning a hole in your wallet already? I’m with you. I love shopping post-Christmas sales to stock up on items I’ve had my eye on all season long. The day after Christmas, for example, is a great time to head to Target and grab heavily discounted holiday decor to tuck away for next year (for years, my mom, sister, and I would do this all together, which was always a blast). Maybe online shopping is more your speed, which makes things even easier. Change into your comfiest clothes and spend a cozy morning scouring the internet for the best deals of the year. Keep an eye out for sales on items you’ll rely upon throughout the year: makeup and skincare products, bedding, travel gear, and more.

Get closer to that yearly reading goal.
Whether you aimed to finish 10 different books or you’re well on your way to 100, there’s no time like the week between Christmas and New Year’s to finish your TBR list with a bang. Once you’re done with that last novel, make a list of your top titles of 2022 and share them with fellow book-loving friends. Then pre-order a few reads that you’re excited about for 2023! I love checking my mail to find a novel that I ordered months back; it’s the perfect mini surprise.

Whip up a new (healthy) recipe.
After weeks of holiday treats, you might be craving something a little more nutritious. Why not use your free time to try out a new healthy recipe that you’ll be able to replicate throughout the year? I’m always looking for new workday lunches, and by perfecting a recipe now, I’ll be less likely to run to Sweetgreen every time I’m craving kale. One of my favorite places to source new recipes is Pinterest—I like to save a few meal ideas that look good and then pull them up while at the grocery store to ensure I gather all the necessary ingredients.

Play tourist in your own city.
How often do you get to stroll around your city on a weekday? Take advantage of your time off work and book tickets to a theater matinee, check out that new museum, or simply admire all the holiday lights one more time before they come down. Even if traveling is off the table during your break from work, pretend to be a tourist in your own city by indulging in activities that you wouldn’t normally do on a weekday. Living in New York City, for example, I’d love to spend a slow December morning at the Met followed by a delicious weekday brunch and a brisk stroll through Central Park.

    Binge-watch a show.
Who says that every moment of your time off needs to be productive? It certainly doesn’t—maybe all you want to do after a stressful year at work is simply lay back and veg out. So many amazing shows have come out with new seasons recently (like Dead to Me, The Sex Lives of College Girls, and The White Lotus), and if you haven’t gotten a chance to stream them yet… well, now you know what you’re doing for the rest of the week! If the weather outside is particularly dreary, even better! You officially have plenty to do while cooped up indoors.

60 Realistic New Year’s Resolutions You Can Totally Achieve This Year

Lose weight. Run a marathon. Cut out alcohol. Get a raise. We make the same tired new year’s resolutions every year that we never manage to keep, or we forget we made them altogether by February. Seriously–is it just me, or do new year’s resolutions never seem to work? My suspicion is that we make resolutions that we think we want, not resolutions that will actually make us healthier and happier. We think losing weight will make us feel more confident or that running a marathon will get us to the gym (and back to that weight loss goal). We believe cutting out alcohol will make us healthier or that getting a raise will make all of our problems disappear. But are these resolutions really making us feel good, or are these “goals” in the name of being better actually distracting us from truly being healthy?
In 2023, it’s time to ditch the typical resolutions that leave you feeling stressed out or let down year after year. Instead, opt for resolutions that you’ll enjoy so much and will make you feel so good, you’ll have no trouble sticking with them at all. These 60 new year’s resolutions will make you feel happier, healthier, and all-around better (difficult diets or forced workouts need not apply). Whether you choose one resolution or all 60, you’ll be happier and healthier by 2024.

If you want to revamp your diet…

Check in with your body before and after every meal to see how it feels
    Ditch outdated food rules
Focus on adding more nutrients (instead of eating fewer calories/carbohydrates, etc.)
Eat leafy greens with two meals a day

Our Managing Editor Reveals: The Tech Products She Would Sell Her Soul For

Every so often I get the urge to turn off my phone, unplug my wifi, and run away to the mountains with nothing but my books to keep me company. This tech-free life sounds wonderful and I’d be halfway out the door if it wasn’t for the fact that my Kindle, a device that requires wifi, is essentially my security blanket, and my weekly screen report from Apple is proof that going internet-free isn’t in the cards for me. So instead of galavanting off to a cabin in the woods, I lean into the tech products that make my life a thousand times easier.
I literally cannot sleep without my sound machine, am emotionally attached to my standing desk, and can’t fathom drying my hair without my trusty Dyson. This self-awareness is freeing. If you’re ready to fully embrace our tech overlords, join me in adding the tech products I would absolutely sell my soul for (even though no one asked) to your life—I promise you won’t regret it.

    My Tech Favorite Products
Many of the items here aren’t the most “fun” things to buy — they’re no Sephora haul or brand new bag — but when I say they’ve revolutionized my life, I’m really not exaggerating. My favorites listed here range from smaller gadgets that are easy to tack onto any Amazon purchase to bigger ticket items I’m begging you to finally pull the trigger on.

    Sunrise Alarm Clock
I can no longer sleep well if I don’t have my Hatch Restore routine going. It allows you to create a custom sleep routine that gently guides you to sleep and to wake up with soothing sounds and light that mimics a sunset and sunrise, respectively. It sounds out there, I know, but I literally sleep like a baby when I use it and the slow-building morning alarm is so much more pleasant to wake up to than my phone blaring in my ear.

Wireless Phone Charger & Accessory Tray
The Courant wireless charging products are the perfect blend of form and function. I keep the Catch:3 on my nightstand to charge my phone overnight and hold my other bedside essentials. It looks great beside my bed and an added bonus: because my phone has to lay on the charger, I can’t stay up well into the night scrolling through TikTok with my phone plugged in. I can already feel my eyes becoming less strained.

    All-in-One Standing Desk
My love for my Flexispot standing desk came as a complete shock to my system. However, after searching high and low for a standing desk that was semi-affordable and not horrendous to look at, I landed on this one and now I can’t imagine life without it. When combined with an under desk treadmill, it’s a combination that really can’t be beat.

    Ergonomic Laptop Stand
I’ve dedicated so much time to finding aesthetically pleasing desk accessories and have truly never seen a prettier laptop stand that doesn’t cost a billion dollars. Yes, this one is a step-up from the $20 ones you’ll find all over Amazon, but it’s so worth it for an ergonomic solution that looks beautiful, too.

    Apple Pencil Charging Stand
Before I got this charging stand for my Apple pencil, it was always dead, which meant I never really used it and therefore never really used my iPad. As soon as I got this little stand and placed it on my desk, my iPad became my lifeblood and my Apple pencil is always ready right when I need it.

Wrist Support Keyboard Rest & Mouse Pad
Are you tired of seeing this set on every desk essentials article we put out? I will not apologize for that because it is absolutely imperative you have this keyboard rest and mouse pad set. Your wrists will love you for using these and you won’t even have to sacrifice your desk aesthetic.

    Kindle Paperwhite
The relationship I have with my Kindle could be described as unhealthy. But if it is, I don’t care. I have never read so much in my life than I do with my Kindle. It is the first thing I reach for every morning to accompany my morning coffee and the first thing I pack in my personal item when traveling. If anything ever happened to my Kindle, I’d have to replace it immediately. If you’re a reader who’s been waffling over whether or not to take the plunge, please do it. You won’t regret it.

    Desktop Webcam
If you are still using your MacBook’s potato of a camera, please add this to your Amazon cart right now and click purchase. It is a massive and necessary upgrade for your WFH setup. It features a built-in ring light to keep the quality of your calls top-tier, even if the lighting everywhere else on your home is abominable.

    Keyboard Cleaner Kit
I file this under nifty, cheap products that I will 100% delete from my cart before I actually place my Amazon order. However, when this all-in-one tech cleaner did finally survive my Amazon cart purge, it became a holy grail in my desk essential arsenal. I love that I can clean all the nooks and crannies in my various devices with just one simple tool.

    Roomba Vacuum
I hate vacuuming almost as much as I hate doing dishes, so this robot vacuum is a true lifesaver. We have it set to go off twice a week (there are three dogs in this house so that frequency is 100% necessary), and I don’t even have to think about vacuuming unless I’m doing a deep clean in the nooks and crannies.

    Portable Label Maker
A label maker is the kind of thing you only wish you had once in a blue moon, but when you do need one, you kick yourself for not having one. This is your sign to finally take the plunge. This one is cute, small, and connects to your phone for easy labeling.

Red Light Therapy Wand & Serum Kit
Beauty tech is a category I didn’t see myself buying into, but my experience with products like the Nuface and now the SolaWave have made me a true convert. This skincare wand combines several different beauty treatments in one—microcurrent, red light therapy, facial massage, and therapeutic warmth—for the ultimate self-care experience. Immediately after using, my skin is less puffy and glowing, and long term use targets fine lines, wrinkles, and blemishes. So it’s a win now and a win later.

    Laptop Carry Sleeve & Stand
This laptop sleeve tops the list of things I didn’t even realize I needed until I had it. This sleek leather sleeve protects my laptop when traveling and doubles as an ergonomic stand when I reach my destination, whether it’s a coffee shop or a company trip. I love that I no longer have to sacrifice my beloved ergonomics when I’m working away from home. If you travel for work or really lean into that “work from anywhere” lifestyle, this is the laptop sleeve for you.

    Tech Products On My Wishlist
Sure, this is a not-so-subtle hint to my family when I send them my “latest article to check out,” but it’s also an inside scoop for you, dear readers, at the items I’ve pre-deemed worth every single penny.

    Wi-Fi Connected Jet Mop
I’ve already spoken about the undying love I have for my Roomba, and I am very close to taking the plunge on the mop version as well. The vacuum has made my life so much easier, especially with having pets, so I know the mop would be just as game-changing.

    4K Smart Monitor
I do not need an iMac, and definitely don’t want to spend $2,000 for what is essentially a pretty monitor (nothing I do for work requires that kind of computing power). But, I still want a beautiful monitor to complete my desk. So, what’s a girl to do? When I first saw this Samsung monitor my jaw dropped at how perfectly it solved my dilemma. It’s the perfect upgrade to my setup and while still an investment, is much more affordable than the iMac.

    Desktop Vacuum
This desktop vacuum cleaner has yet to survive one of my pre-checkout Amazon cart purges, but it’s only a matter of time before I take the plunge on this. I’ve seen countless videos about it on TikTok and know it’ll be such a useful addition to my desk.

    Light Therapy Lamp
As a recent transplant to the Pacific Northwest, I don’t think I’m fully prepared for the gloomiest time of the year, even though I love the rain. This light therapy lamp would be the perfect device to have on my desk to help me get through the cold, dark, and rainy days when all I really want is to curl up on the couch.

    Compact Electric Heater
The battle between my husband and I over the thermostat is constantly raging on, but this beautiful space heater might be just the thing to get me to back off. I’ve truly never seen a space heater like this before, and as someone who is always cold, I know I’d get my money’s worth.

    Lap Desk
I love a work-from-the-couch moment, but my current lap desk has had its day in the sun and I’m in desperate need of an upgrade. This lap desk from Arlo Skye is a definite splurge, but I use my current one so much I know it will be well worth the cost. This one comes complete with a storage tray and a stand to prop up your phone or iPad—it’s truly perfect for all of my needs.
