The Simple Summer Fashion Staple You Didn’t Know You Needed

I was mindlessly clicking through Instagram stories a couple of months ago, when suddenly one slide got my attention. I clicked backwards to watch it again and turn my sound on (a true honor, if you ask me). A small fashion blogger that I follow was talking about the shirt she was wearing. It was everything you could ask for in a top: fitted but flattering, comfy but stylish, and most importantly, it was $8! Needless to say, I ordered two right away—and my obsession with this wardrobe staple was born. Allow me to introduce you to the perfect basic for summer 2020: the fitted ribbed tank. Not only is it my most-worn (by far) item of the season, I’m seeing them popping up everywhere from Instagram to Pinterest—and the ladies wearing them are always looking chic as hell. While it might seem like an obvious choice, trust me, the right basic tank is truly an outfit game-changer.
If you want to look chic while staying home and staying comfy this summer, this option is perfect. Dress it up with trendy jeans or denim shorts, or keep it casual with sweat shorts or leggings. A basic like this is so versatile, you’ll need one in every color.
Here are a few of our absolute favorite ribbed tanks (that you’ll want to add to your cart immediately):

    Slim Fit Tank Top

This is the tank that started it all. I have three, and I need many more. The cut is extremely flattering, and the material is comfortable and super high-quality. It comes in 10 colors and is only $8!

5 Easy Outfit Formulas to Try This Week

Getting into a style rut is easy—and it’s even easier when we’re used to having worn the same loungewear for the past four months straight. When you’re getting dressed for, you know, your daily walk or time spent on your balcony, the easiest way to not get overwhelmed—and to avoid the ‘I have nothing to wear!’ conundrum—is to think of outfits as formulas. They can be as simple as jeans + T-shirt + sneakers, but thinking of your pieces as individual items that can work together rather than attempting to process the entirety of your closet at once can make getting dressed as easy as 1 + 1 = 2.
These are some of the tried-and-true formulas we’re following at the moment—and none of them have failed us yet.

    1. One-shoulder tank + high-rise jean shorts + cat-eye sunglasses + sneakers

    shorts / tank / shoes / sunglasses

    2. Linen dress + slide sandals + straw bag

    dress / shoes / sunglasses / bag

    3. Red dress + pink sandals + acrylic sunglasses

    dress / sandals / sunglasses

    4. Linen jumpsuit + espadrilles + rattan bag

    jumpsuit / espadrilles / bag / sunglasses

    5. Denim romper + sneakers + shoulder bag

6 Versatile Ways to Wear Your Bike Shorts

Just about two years ago, I remember seeing my first photo of bike shorts as a fashion statement, just as vividly as if it were yesterday. I was innocently scrolling through Instagram, when an article popped up featuring none other than Hailey Baldwin (now Bieber), all about the genius new fashion trend the was wearing: a blazer with bike shorts. I was appalled by the mere audacity of someone wearing such a thing, but getting praised for it? I was beside myself.Fast forward to this very moment, as I am wearing a pair as I write this very article. After two years of watching everyone and their mother try their hand at an original take on the trend nobody could get away from, I was finally ready. And you know what? Now I can’t live without them. Despite what my innocent self hoped for two years ago, they’re here to stay—so if you haven’t hopped on the bandwagon, I’m here to tell you that now is the time.
If bike shorts are one thing, they’re versatile. It’s been proven time and time again that they can be dressed up for a night out or just worn on your run, or hell, even the bike ride they were made for. Feeling stumped on styling them? Try one of these six formulas:

    1. With an oversized graphic tee + sneakers

bike shorts / tee / sneakers / sunglasses

    2. With a bright, oversized blazer + crop top

blazer / crop top / sandals / bag / bike shorts

    3. With a white tee + denim jacket

tee / sneakers / denim jacket / sunglasses / bike shorts

    4. With all black

hoodie / sneakers / sunglasses / bike shorts

    5. As a matching set with + a baseball cap

bike shorts / top / sneakers / hat

    6. With a halter top + fun sandals

top / bike shorts / sandals / bag / sunglasses

Nike has just launched one of its most sustainable pair of shoes ever

Making leaps and bounds in the direction towards to help the environment, Nike is set to launch one of its most sustainable pair of shoes ever.
The new Nike Air VaporMax 2020 Flyknit sneakers are made with at least 50 per cent recycled content by weight.

As for how this was achieved, it was done through balancing sustainability and innovation to ensure the shoe was fit for everyday wear.

“We wanted to look at not only Nike’s waste stream but other industrial waste streams and how we could leverage that content,” Jesi Small, the Nike product design lead, explains. “We let that drive a lot of the decision-making.”
From this came the idea of ‘Rawthenticy’, as Nike senior project line manager Jarrod Hale says.
“In this approach to being perfectly-imperfect using raw materials, we felt like the idea could show wearers how and why things are working, and from a function and aesthetic aspect that brought the whole thing together,” he adds.

This latest launch for the popular sportswear brand is part of their wider mission to lead the way in the sustainability space, as they have done for 30 years.
It’s not only about a single-product principle, but sustainability is also a process that is part of their everyday across every process of the business. In particular, the brand aims to encourage the sharing of tools across similar industries, as well as developing innovative ideas in order to make further steps forward in the sustainability space.
The Nike Air VaporMax 2020 Flyknit will be available from July 23 in Nike Dubai Mall and Nike Mall of the Emirates and will retail for Dhs1,129.

The Breezy Summer Dresses You’ll Want to Wear Constantly

A couple of weeks ago, I woke up and went to get dressed, only to realize that every single pair of my running shorts were dirty. These days it’s my instinct to throw on a pair of comfortable shorts and some kind of T-shirt or tank top, so I was left with two options for my work-from-home attire: jean shorts or a dress.I love jean shorts, but I wasn’t about to spend all day sitting at my desk in them, so a dress it was. I chose one of my light, whispy white numbers, and after basking in the joy of having no form of pants on and doing a little dance, I couldn’t help but think, Why didn’t I start doing this sooner? I felt like a million bucks throughout the day—rather than the $1 or $1.50 I’ve been feeling like in my loungewear lately—and the best part? At night, I still hadn’t changed, and I ended up falling asleep in it before I got around to putting my pj’s on. A piece of clothing that makes me feel like I’m living my normal life and that can suffice as literal pajamas? Let me toss all my other clothes out the window and hoard my closet with exclusively dresses for the rest of my days.
All dresses aren’t considered equal when it comes to comfort, but any lightweight, breezy dress is, dare I say, one of the most versatile things you can buy. Wear ’em on a date or for a walk around the block or hell, to work from home for the day, and you’ll be comfortable while resisting the urge to twirl around from dusk until dawn—and what other piece of clothing can you say that about? We rest our case. More

5 Ways to Make Your Swimsuit Look Ultra-Stylish

When you plan for a poolside summer excursion, your mind probably goes straight toward one thing: which swimsuit you’re going to wear. Yes, that’s important, but since we graduated from wearing a towel-material dress as our cover-ups (just me?), there’s more to think about than just what you’re going to swim in.When you’re lounging on a boat or by the lake or walking to any water-related activity, you probably aren’t traveling there in just your swimsuit (but hey, if you are, more power to you). Sometimes you want to be able to lounge around for the afternoon in your swimsuit, but don’t want everything exposed during the entirety of the day (one poor soul I know met her boyfriend’s parents at a pool party—tell me how you’re supposed to dress for that one). The good news? If you pair it with just the right things, well, your swimsuit can turn into a full-blown summer look—like a Real Housewife spending their champagne-filled Saturday on a yacht.
From the chicest cover-up options of the season to accessories to make your swimsuit look like you, we’re sharing our favorite ways to style up your swimsuit in 2020.

    1. With a white shirtdress
Whether you’re walking to the pool or lounging by the lake with your friends for an afternoon, a long, white shirtdress is a chic coverup that’ll make any swimsuit look more sophisticated.

    2. With a wrap skirt
Throwing a wrap around your favorite swimsuit is an effortless way to elevate your poolside look. With a variety of ways to tie it, it’s a versatile way to stylishly cover up when you aren’t in the water.

sarong / bikini top / bikini bottoms / sandals / sunglasses

    3. With palazzo pants
With a pair of easy, breezy, flowing palazzo pants, you can float to and from whatever water-side activity your summer brings. They look sophisticated and refined and are the most versatile cover-up you’ll ever come across.

pants / bikini top / bag / sandals / sunglasses

    4. With jewelry
Don’t underestimate the power of pairing simple jewelry with your swimsuit. If you want it to really pop, opt for a black or jewel-toned swimsuit and pair it with hints of gold.

    swimsuit / hoops / sandals / sunglasses / bracelet

    5. With high-waisted denim
Nothing screams “cool girl” like a bikini top paired with a high-waisted pair of denim. The key to this is all about the accessories: a pair of chic sunglasses and trendy sandals can make all the difference.

These Activewear Trends Are So Cute, They’ll Motivate You to Work Out At Home

I’ve always lacked motivation when it comes to working out. For example, I faked my period every other week to get out of gym class (thankfully, my PE teacher was an awkward older man who didn’t want to question that frequency). As an adult, I finally established a consistent exercise routine by going to workout classes (and have only faked my period a few times). There are exactly two reasons classes gave me the motivation to work out: 1. the chance to get out of the house (I work at home full-time), and 2. steep cancellation fees. You can imagine my panic when all studios and gyms started closing mid-March. What other reason is there to work out than $20 to cancel and lemon-lavender cloths!? There’s nothing that motivates me to do anything or go anywhere more than a really cute outfit, so I took the same approach. Sure we all should exercise for our health and wellbeing, but sometimes it’s just hard when a new episode of Riverdale is calling.
Whether you’re live streaming yoga, getting after it on the treadmill, or taking your dog for a long walk, the biggest activewear trends of 2020 are so cute you’ll want to throw them on, get moving, and maybe take a selfie or two. Happy shopping (I mean working out)!

    1. Matching sets

A matching set is the activewear equivalent of a crisp, ironed button-down: whenever you wear it, you just look like you have your sh*t together. A matching set of leggings and bra top in a cute print or a comfy fabric is as worthy of an #OOTD selfie as your favorite sundress or newest blouse. Plus, you’ll look damn good doing downward dog in all one color.

    2. One-shoulder top

The latest trend in sports bras and workout tops mirrors one of the biggest trends in your closet: one-shoulder is officially all the rage. If you’re anywhere above an AA cup, no worries. The latest designs are built for the best support, so your beloved breasts won’t slosh around during even the toughest HIIT series (did that sentence really gross anyone else out?).

    3. Pastel leggings

The weather is warm, which means it’s time to get brighter and bolder with the colors we wear. The most stylish trainers and active fashion girls are ditching their black, gray, and neutral leggings for more blues, purples, and pinks. Leggings have never been so pretty.

    4. Tie-Dye

Yes, the it-trend of the season (nay, year), has officially made its way into your activewear. Dye your own shorts or sweatshirts if you’re dying for a DIY, or get a matching set to knock out two trends at once. No matter what your preference, adding some tie-dye into your workout routine will power you through a long run or an online barre class.

    5. Ribbed fabrics

If there is such a thing as a “texture of the season,” ripped fabric is officially the MVP. Staying at home for months on end and living in loungewear challenged us to investigate the comfiest, coziest fabric available, and there’s something about a slightly ribbed design that takes the cake. If you’re looking for activewear that doubles as loungewear, or even sleepwear, look no further.

    6. Bright citrus colors

Every season has an it-color, and summer 2020’s is bright, sunny, and citrusy. Think: tangerine orange, grapefruit pink, or lemon yellow. Go bold in a pair of leggings, or keep it subtle with shoes and small details.

    7. Printed bike shorts

You already know bike shorts are cool (Kim K has been wearing them for years), but plain black bike shorts are can be worn for brunch plans or a night out now. Make your workout looks a little more fun with a printed version that’s as comfortable as it is cute. They will be your go-to for every outdoor workout throughout the entire summer.
