Candlelight Concerts by Fever’s violinist Milica Djurovic shares her musical journey

Lifeby Sarah Joseph2 hours ago Candlelight was initially conceived as a classical music series with concerts featuring works by renowned composers, such as Vivaldi, Mozart, and Chopin. Now, the ever-growing list of programs includes a wide variety of themes and genres, including tributes to contemporary artists like Queen, ABBA and more. This innovative format provides a unique live musical experience, offering a variety of programs to meet all tastes. To delve further, Emirates Woman spoke to Milica Djurovic a Violin and Piano specialist at Candlelight Concerts by Fever to learn how her journey began.Talk us through your background and career.I’m a violinist from Serbia. My musical journey of 18 years led me to earn bachelor’s and master’s degrees in violin performance. Since 2021, I’ve been teaching violin and piano instruments in the Abu Dhabi UAE, nurturing a love for music in students of all levels. Started early to be part of numerous orchestras and ensembles, travelling and performing in various European countries and, more recently, in the Middle East. Met different cultures, and realized that we’re all connected through the universal language of music. Working with other musicians, as well as with students, helped nurture my skills and career growth. What has been the biggest challenge to date and how did you overcome this? The most significant challenge I face is balancing my time between teaching students and nurturing my passion for performance. Juggling the dedication required for individualised, one-on-one classes to help each student reach their goals while also investing time in rehearsals for our performances demands careful planning. Overcoming this challenge involves a lot of scheduling and devotion, allowing me to give my full attention to both teaching and performance preparation. Our concerts are a culmination of shared enjoyment in the music we create. Are there any milestones you are most proud of?There are several milestones that I’m proud of. Moving to the UAE has been a significant journey, allowing me to meet diverse people and share my love for music. Teaching students how to play the violin and introducing them to the world of music has been particularly fulfilling. I also take great pride in being the violin instructor of the Abu Dhabi Youth Orchestra. Additionally, performing as part of the ensemble “The Strings” at the Candlelight Concerts has added another layer of accomplishment to my musical journey. Each of these milestones represents a chapter in my musical story. How important is music in creating the perfect ambiance – how does this add to the experience?Music is essential in creating the perfect ambience and shaping emotions in listeners’ ears and hearts. We navigate through a variety of musical landscapes, from classical music to movie soundtracks and pop and rock genres. In preparation for each performance, we practice how to transition between emotions of each song quickly; from sad, intense or heavy tones to cheerful melodies during the concerts. Whether playing music from Hans Zimmer’s cinematic brilliance, capturing Taylor Swift’s melodies, or delivering the soulful tunes of Whitney Houston, each performance is an opportunity to connect with the audience on various emotional levels. What is the most important to you when you are on the stage performing? For me, the most meaningful moment when on the stage is the sense of connection—with colleagues, the music, and the audience. Every moment holds a unique value, and the feeling of creating something extraordinary with musicians is truly special. I dedicated my whole life to mastering the violin because I find enormous joy in sharing my emotions with the audience, making each performance a memorable and meaningful experience. For more information and to purchase tickets visit feverup.com– For more on luxury lifestyle, news, fashion and beauty follow Emirates Woman on Facebook and InstagramImages: Supplied More

Candlelight Concerts by Fever’s Piano Maria Khachieva specialist shares how it began

This innovative format provides a unique live musical experience, offering a variety of programs to meet all tastes,Maria Khachieva attended masterclasses with well-known musicians such as Chiara Morandi and Danilo Rossi. She has an extensive performance experience within orchestras such as Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina, Torre del Lago, Symphony Orchestra of La Spezia, EstOrchestra and many others. To delve into a musical journey, Emirates Woman spoke to Khachieva on her journey began on what led her to choose this career path.Talk us through your background and career.I am an Italian with a Russian background who grew up in Tuscany. My journey with music started when I was just five years old, and I began playing the violin. However, I later switched to the viola when I turned seventeen. In 2022, I graduated with honours and was awarded a merit scholarship. Throughout my studies, I also attended several masterclass courses with Danilo Rossi, who is the principal violist of La Scala. I have had the privilege of playing with various Italian orchestras, including the Puccini Festival Orchestra. I am excited to share that the orchestra will be coming to Abu Dhabi at the end of January 2024.Where do you get the discipline and motivation to be consistent and are there any practices which have helped you with this?I learned discipline through my mother, who was a music teacher. During my teenage years, my desire to improve and my curiosity to see how far I could push myself helped me to stay persistent. I believe it’s important to set high-attainable goals and push yourself hard. However, I have noticed that many people, including my students, tend to focus more on competing with others rather than motivating themselves. In reality, self-motivation and self-improvement are the keys to success. What role has mentorship played in your career?Mentorship has played a significant role in my life. I owe a great deal to two Italian maestros: Danilo Rossi and Fabrizio Merlini. They not only taught me a lot about the viola but also provided me with guidance and support during difficult times. As a young musician, having a teacher who could motivate and encourage me was essential. Today, I am delighted to be in a position to offer the same level of support to my students. Are there any milestones you are most proud of?It’s difficult for me to pinpoint a single achievement that I’m most proud of because I have many. These achievements range from the competitions I participated in in Italy to the people I’ve had the honour of meeting throughout my music career. However, I can say that I am currently proud and happy to be a violist and a viola teacher in Abu Dhabi. This is particularly important because I take pride in seeing my students achieve their goals with my support. Additionally, I am thrilled to be working with my quartet and to have the honour of playing with such professional musicians.– For more on luxury lifestyle, news, fashion and beauty follow Emirates Woman on Facebook and InstagramImages: Supplied More

From Selena Gomes to Jennifer Lawrence: 15 celebrities at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour

    Life

    by Ruman Baig

    VIEW GALLERY/ 15 IMAGES
It wouldn’t be a reach to call Taylor Swift the celebrity of celebrities.
Her Eras Tour is undoubtedly the most sought-after concert of the year and ever yday a host of A-listers can be spotted lipsyncing the bridge from ‘Cruel Summer’ in their VIP boxes.
If you think it’s just Taylor’s girl gang from the glamour world who are assembling to show their support, you’ve got it wrong. Celebrities across ages, streams and even countries are now taking pride in being called Swifties.
Some are boasting their #GirlDad skills by whipping out their best glitter eye makeup *cough Channing Tatum cough* while others are making a night around town out of it celebrating their new single life.
From the boho-chic costumes inspired by all of Taylor’s albums to cluttering their arms with a beaded bracelet, celebrities are just like us. It is a sight to behold when these famous names from around the world are spotted exchanging arm jewels with the original Swifties in the stadiums.
Taylor’s a girl’s girl and her tour is a testament to female friendship and the bond of womanhood (even if they are strangers). While concerts lately have been in the news for rowdy crowds and their inappropriate behaviour with the artists, it is refreshing to see celebrities and other swifties just singing the multiple bridges of her songs in harmony.
One such video that recently went viral was of Taylor’s best friend and fellow music stalwart, Selena Gomez. In the video, the Rare beauty founder was seen holding her sister Gracies close, as they sang the lines to the iconic song ‘Lover’. Now isn’t this what music should be all about?

Scroll the above gallery to view 15 celebrities having the time of their lives at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour 2023:

Zendaya takes over Coachella as a surprise performer

    Life

    by Ruman Baig

Zendaya is not a jack of all trades, she is pretty much a master of everything she does. Case in point: The Euphoria star joined artist Labrinth on stage as they performed popoular tracks from the show at the Coachella music festival.
The Emmy-winning actor, who is also a singer, hasn’t performed live for almost six years. This was until she broke the internet over the weekend, by singing not just one but two tracks (All For Us andI’m Tired) from the crowd-favourite HBO show.

“Thank you all for welcoming me back on that stage with open arms. It’s been a very long time, so I appreciate it. I have never heard screaming like that in my entire life. As soon as I turned the corner, I couldn’t hear anything.” The Dune star acknowledged her fans and their heartfelt response to her performance in a series of Instagram stories. She also thanked Labrinth for making this iconic moment happen in the eleventh hour. “Thank you to Lab for inviting me and making all this happen so last minute.”
Fun fact: Zendaya isn’t just the soul of Euphoria as Rue, but she also plays a poignant part in making the music for this infamous series. Apart from originally singing All For Us, she has also co-written Still Don’t Know My Name, alongside Labrinth and Muzhda Zemar-McKenzie.
Taking a 360° pivot from her style on the show, Zendaya wore a flirty pink mini dress on a white tank top and clubbed it with a pair of thigh-high boots.
