If you’re looking for a change from the usual spots in Dubai, the emirate’s newest and most exclusive destination, J1 Beach has opened its doors.
Set along the shorefront of Jumeirah, this new Dubai riviera features a dozen homegrown names and international hotspots, perfect for sun-soaked Dubai days and late-night dinners. .
So, for your next trip to J1 Beach, here’s our guide on where to go at Dubai’s new hotspot.
Bâoli
From the sun-drenched shores of Cannes comes Baoli, a sprawling restaurant, bar, beach club and late night spot that’s the place to see and be seen in the city right now. For more laidback days in the sun, the pool and beach is where to book, with loungers from AED500 with AED400 redeemable. But the best vibes are found in the restaurant, where Asian and Mediterranean flavours meet to create a haute menu of elevated Dubai dishes designed to share. Think light carpaccio, prettily plated sushi, and fresh fish cooked to order. The best vibes are found as late lunch turns into sunset, and the sundowner DJ sets – especially on weekends kickstart an enigmatic ambience that continues into the early hours. For late night revelry, head to the Moon Bar, a speakeasy-style spot with a line-up of guest DJs.

Sirene by Gaia
A coastal iteration of elevated Greek restaurant Gaia, Sirene is the newest addition to J1 Beach. This gorgeous Mediterranean beach club and restaurant was worth the wait – its whitewashed interiors are show-stopping. The indoor restaurant spills onto an alfresco terrace, and further down to a lounge, then even further to loungers that dot the beach. Come for the Greek-Mediterranean fare that’s won chef Izu Ani multiple awards, and stay for the party – during late afternoons the tempo ramps up with guests staying late into the night for DJ sets that elevate the ambience. If you’re heading for the sunshine, it’s AED200 for loungers on the beach and AED300 for pool beds.

Chouchou
This two-story Parisian beach house oozes French allure. The city’s first members beach house, downstairs offers indoor and alfresco dining, a pool and loungers, while upstairs, a beautiful rooftop awaits. Lots of the spaces are now open for non-members, making it a lovely elegant spot for days of tan-topping or leisurely lunches. On weekends, a duo of brunches offer packages from AED290, while pool days are priced at AED400, fully redeemable.

Gitano
Known for the bohemian touch, Gitano hails from Tulum and the tropical-luxe feel oozes through the venue, from the leafy catwalk-style entrance, to the disco balls adoring the outdoor restaurant. The beach club part features a plunge pool and array of loungers and cabanas, while the restaurant – offering indoor, outdoor and rooftop dining, is where to go for modern Mexican dishes and excellent cocktails. By day, guests can lounge on the beach for AED350 on weekdays and AED400 on weekends, fully redeemable.

St Tropez hotspot Gigi Rigolatto has been a smash hit Dubai success story, set over a beautiful destination of sugary sand and landscaped garden. African Queen
A taste of the French Rivera awaits at African Queen. Featuring a pool flanked by plush orange loungers and a restaurant and shaded terrace, it oozes effortless elegance. A seaside iteration of the elegant and vibrant Middle Eastern restaurant, Ninive, the beachside venue is a fabulously festive beach club and restaurant. Recline and imbibe downstairs by the pool, where a palette of rich hues feels like you’re in a Riad in Marrakech. For a more extensive dining experience, book the upstairs restaurant, where gorgeous sea views backdrop one side and the striking Burj Khalifa is framed by the dramatic Downtown skyline on the other.
