This Zuma venue is defining the ‘next 20 years’ of the renowned restaurant brand

    Lifestyle

    by Olivia Morris

For those who have been gallivanting around Europe this summer (and we’re sure that’s many of you), you may have happened to stumble across the Zuma name more than once.
The globally renowned luxury restaurant brand debuted three new venues this summer in key holiday destinations: Ibiza, Sardinia and Mykonos.
It marks a milestone in the 20-year history of the restaurant when it first opened its doors in London two decades ago. In fact, according to Zuma’s Creator and Co-Founder Rainer Becker, the new Mykonos venue is a marker for what the next 20 years hold for the brand.
“This is a momentous summer for Zuma, with three new venues opening across Europe, including our brand-new Mykonos lifestyle hub,” he explained. “We opened the first Zuma in London 20 years ago and look forward to embarking on our next 20 years as we launch this new venue concept internationally.”
The opening of the Mykonos venue is a first-of-its-kind for Zuma, encompassing a multi-purpose destination including a restaurant, lounge and bar, as well as a sleek infinity pool, day beds and resident DJ.
The new venue offers the same exquisite cuisine many Dubai residents will know and love but on a different level. Visitors can indulge in the beloved staple dishes during the day as they soak up the Mediterranean sun as they chill out poolside. Then, when the sun sets, the space transforms into the ultimate night-time hotspot with a DJ playing chilled house into the early hours.
Go inside the chic new European hotspot below.

If this is a marker for what’s set to come for the Zuma brand globally, we can’t wait to see what’s next.

This content creator proves how safe it really is to live in Dubai

    Lifestyle

    by Sarah Joseph

It’s widely known by citizens and residents just how safe the UAE is, but now one Dubai resident has actually put it to the test.
A popular content creator from Turkmenistan, Baymammet Sarybekov, wanted to see how safe the emirate was for himself through an experiment.
Visiting popular and busy spots around the emirate, Sarybekov recently shared two separate videos showing him living his valuables behind, only to return over 10 minutes later to find them just where he had left them.
In one video, he left his phone plugged in to charge unattended, which was left just as it was when he returned to the same spot.
In other footage, Sarybekov left his phone and wallet unattended in a busy food court to secure a table. While he waited for his food order, the phone and wallet were left unattended for over 10 minutes.

@baymabayy Replying to @SeriSkill That safety feeling 😊👍🏼🤩 #baymabay ♬ Love You So – The King Khan & BBQ Show

While in many places around the world items would be immediately taken if left unattended, his phone and wallet remained untouched in this bustling public setting, showcasing the UAE’s overall safety.
Having lived in Dubai for four years after living in different parts of the world, he expressed his gratitude to the nation’s leaders.
His ‘only in Dubai’ theory certainly passed the test with flying colours.
    Safe for solo female travellers
The UAE has continually ranked as a safe haven not only for citizens and residents, but for all those visiting too.
Back in February, Dubai ranked as one of the top cities for the safety of female solo travellers. Per a survey conducted by the travel insurance website InsureMyTrip, Dubai ranked third on the list.
The study stated, “Overall, Dubai has a very low crime rate and is considered a safe place to travel as a woman, with the majority of public transport in Dubai offering a ‘women’s only section’.”
    Top places to walk alone
Late last year, it was also found the UAE was one of the safest places for people to walk alone at night.
Per Gallup’s 2021 Global Law and Order report, it was found that 95 per cent of the country’s residents feel safe, especially when walking alone at night.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, shared his pride over this declaration. He noted how safe the UAE was for women and how they could walk home, day or night, “without fear”.

2022’s third Mercury Retrograde is fast approaching – here’s everything to know

    Lifestyle

    by Team Emirates Woman

Words by Kirstyn Lewis – Founder of the Karmic SoulYou’ve probably just hit your groove. But wait, what? Again? Not another Retrograde? Yes, that’s right. Mercury is once again going into Retrograde on September 11, 2022. However, don’t panic, unless, of course, you don’t like to get things done.
September will be giving us a bigger than usual workload. Don’t be surprised if you start to feel overwhelmed with too many things on your plate.  You can turn this situation into a positive by showcasing your skills, popularity or leadership qualities because it’s going to ultimately favour your career.
Unfortunately, you will need to push through, and the reality will start to bite. It will be too late to catch up later, so make sure you don’t get left behind, or be surprised if you find yourself working longer hours!
This third of the 2022 Mercury Retrogrades asks you to go back over any formalities involving higher education.  Also, cast another eye over any legal documents or contracts relating to foreign places and look closely at upcoming events where you are responsible for someone else’s money.
Do you want to be kicking goals and stay ahead of the pack? Initially, a Retrograding Mercury in Libra is diplomatic in expecting a little more effort, but he is moving back into his home sign of a conscientious Virgo by September 24 where he will be wanting more detail around communication, it may cause some anxiety if you’re not organised.
Your reputation is paramount, so don’t be surprised if you feel your confidence waning or feel like an imposter syndrome is closing in on you and you need to hide your insecurities.
The secret is to write everything down! By the end of October, when Mercury enters Scorpio, he will want to know everything all over again. Help is also there if you ask for it.
The good news is the Full Moon in Pisces on September 10 will be acknowledging how you have been an inspiration to other people and reminding you to say a big thanks to those who helped you along the way.
The stars appear to be preparing you for Sagittarius season because a discriminating and fastidious Venus in Virgo has reminded Mercury that it’s also time to focus on you! Venus wants you to pay more attention to your lifestyle choices and know you can feel, think, and look better than you already do.
Pay attention to any hormonal changes or digestive issues bothering you, luckily Virgo helps you do your homework from September 6. Schedule any aesthetic procedures for the hospital, but don’t operate five days on either side of the Full Moon. Pick a date after 15 September if you can; the New Moon in Libra will be wanting to unveil something beautiful after September 25.
It’s evident 2022 has continued to be a rollercoaster. Those who have done the work and paid attention to our ancient star guidance are seeing results; we often hear well-deserved and long-awaited success stories despite the difficulties.
You’ve become more reliant on yourself, so in this retrograde, just trust the process. With the big five planets of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto also in retrograde during the entire month of September, put your head down and get on with things.
Don’t forget to back up your wonderfully creative, fluid ideas with critical examples from online media, technology, and communications. You will be wanting to appear intellectually versatile after all.
Mercury Retrograde is here to help put your dreams into action; all the planets are guiding you gently and systematically toward your next chapter. Make sure you let your beauty, brawn and brains shine!
