In Pics: Kylie Jenner’s Dolce Vita summer in Italy

    Life

Kylie Jenner has officially entered her soft-girl era.
It may or may not have been the influence of a certain French celebrity boyfriend, but the beauty Moghul is all about embracing her grace these days. The 26-year-old reality star has ditched her sultry sartorial side for a more prairie girl vibe, and we are here for it.
Think country, cottagecore, corsets, and flowing romantic dresses – her aesthetic represents a slow and gentle vacation life. Recently, the youngest Kardashian-Jenner sibling took a family vacation with sister Khloé Kardashian and momager Kris Jenner to Italy – ever since, she has been sharing glimpses of their eventful summer in Southern Europe.
The mother-of-two looked relaxed as she spent quiet afternoons enjoying garden picnics, savouring cocktails and making pasta. Posing across the breathtaking countryside, Kylie’s wardrobe for the vacation perfectly aligned with the mood she was going for.
Never caught in an anti-fit silhouette even in her teen years, the otherwise body-con dress-obsessed entrepreneur opted for mom jeans and paired it with a simple frilled white top. Giving her dominatrix fashion aesthetic a rest, Kylie wore dreamy-yet-feminine dresses that looked like she was about to star in a country music video.
In case you missed it, scroll below and swipe right to take a look at Kylie Jenner’s Dolce Vita lifestyle this summer.

Saudi Arabia visa on arrival: Which nationalities are eligible for it?

    Life

    by Ruman Baig

Saudi Arabia has introduced a significant change to Umrah visas, now offering visa on arrival to citizens from twelve additional countries.
Effective from August 20, 2023, travelers from nations such as the United States, United Kingdom, various European countries, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Kazakhstan, Brunei, and China can obtain Umrah visas upon reaching the kingdom.
This new system permits entry through air, sea, or land ports, enabling a 90-day stay in Saudi Arabia. These visas not only facilitate spiritual journeys but also promote family connections and tourism experiences.

    — وزارة الحج والعمرة (@HajMinistry) August 18, 2023

This update allows travellers to explore the Kingdom and it’s rich heritage. To take advantage of this opportunity, eligible visitors must pay a $117 visa fee, which includes health insurance coverage. Those interested in applying for a visa on arrival can easily navigate the process on Saudi Arabia’s official eVisa website.
What is Umrah, the Islamic pilgrimage?

Umrah, also referred to as the ‘lesser pilgrimage’ or ‘minor pilgrimage’, entails a visit to the Holy Ka’aba, the Sacred Home of God. This sacred practice is open to Muslims throughout the year. In Islamic terms, Umrah involves performing Tawaf around the Holy Ka’aba and Sa’i between the hills of Safa and Marwah while in a state of Ihram, signifying a sacred commitment.
The core purpose of undertaking Umrah is to establish a connection with Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala – Glory to Him, the exalted), attain His pleasure, and reap the abundant rewards tied to this act of devotion. Through this spiritual journey, individuals cleanse their body, heart, soul, and mind from their past transgressions.

An interview with India’s first certified Pilates instructor, Yasmin Karachiwala

After training her first celebrity client, the Bollywood actress, Kareena Kapoor in 2006, Yasmin Karachiwala has made a mark for herself in the fitness industry.
As a personal fitness instructor for all the big names in Bollywood such as Deepika Padukone, Ali Bhatt, Hrithik Roshan and more.
Known to always prioritise her wellness routine, even while travelling, Karachiwala always emphasises on the transformative power of healing through exercise by practicing consistency and a strict regimen after first visiting the gym at the age of 18 years old.
By bringing her love for Pilates to Dubai, her niece and her husband launched the PAD Fitness six years ago. Situated in the heart of Dubai in Onyx Tower 1, this fitness studio has revamped the workout game in Dubai with various classes such contemporary dance, Pilates dance, wedding choreography and more.
To see her journey as an instructor, Emirates Woman sat down to chat with her and understand how it all began.

    Talk us through your career.
When I was younger, I was a tomboyish, free-spirited young girl flitting through life aimlessly when fate intervened, starting my journey on a fitness pathway that I had never envisaged for myself. My best friend Namrata enrolled me in an aerobics class at the gym, and I assumed it would be really easy. To my utter shock, I made it to being “the worst student in the class.” But I worked really hard and ended up being the “best student.” So much so, that one day my instructor asked me to take the class as she was sick, and that was my turning point. I fell in love with teaching. So I attained my fitness certification from India, and started teaching aerobics and weight training, but I knew I was missing something. That’s when I found Pilates. I travelled to the US and was the first certified Pilates instructor in India. From there, I got my first celebrity client, Karena Kapoor and there was no looking back from there. Today, I’ve been teaching Pilates for over 20 years and I am a teacher trainer with a goal to get everyone in the world to try Pilates at least once.
How do you begin your morning routine?
My morning routine begins with meditation, followed by my Butter Coffee. I spend time with my husband and kids as they eat breakfast, and play with my little dog Enzo, who has all of our hearts. And then I head to the gym to train my clients.
You always manage to incorporate fitness into your routine while travelling – how do you stay disciplined?
If anything is a priority for you in life, you will make time for it. We make time for our kids, for our holidays, for our meals, right? Similarly, at least 30 minutes of movement a day is a non-negotiable for me, so I always plan my days around it. If we’re starting early on a holiday, I will ensure I’ve done my steps by going for a walk or to the gym in the evening.

How has it been to break the stigma for men who’ve now incorporated pilates into their fitness journey?
It feels good when men start to wince and scream when they’re on the reformer because they’ve started to use muscles they’ve never used before! Once a man tries Pilates, I can guarantee they will stand corrected about it being an exercise form only for women.
Diet is an important part of any fitness routine; tell us about your overall diet?
I eat what I feel like it, but I have certain rules. I stay away from gluten, and I completely avoid sugar. Sugar is like poison for our bodies, and I never take my body for granted. I love my meats, fish, and grilled vegetables. It’s funny because it sounds boring, but whenever my nieces come home to eat, they always want to eat my food instead of the food that’s made for everyone; it’s really yummy.
You’ve always trained a host of Bollywood celebrities – name a few and how did your journey with them begin?
My journey began when Kareena Kapoor started training with me way back in 2006. She really transformed for a song she was doing back then, and then word spread, and today I regularly train Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone and Sophie Choudry. I’ve also trained Hardik Pandya and Hrithik Roshan, both of whom are Pilates fans!
The PAD Dubai celebrates five years since its launch. What are the key workouts offered at the studio?
Yes indeed, and I am so proud of my niece Shaazia and her husband Abbas. They have really built a community that is thriving and pushes one another to stay fit. What’s unique about the studio is that they offer both Pilates and Dance classes. In Pilates they offer Private, Group and rehabilitation Pilates, and in Dance they offer Bollywood, Bollyfit, Bhangra, Jazz and Ballet. They also specialise in wedding sangeet choreography and corporate wellness sessions.

How has the fitness industry evolved since you first started?
The fitness industry has transformed! When I started 30 years ago, people barely understood the importance of health and fitness, it was a struggle to find clients and an even bigger struggle to find a training institute to get trained properly. Today, especially after COVID people have realized the importance of health and wellbeing, they are seeking out good fitness professionals to guide them and walk the through their issues. In addition, you now see a gym or a Pilates studio on every street! That to me is a really positive sign. And it’s trending upwards.
With a busy schedule and always being on the go – how do you unwind on a daily basis?
My workout time, family time, and dog time are my unwinding times.
What’s the biggest myth you’ve seen when it comes to exercising?
That you need to have an hour every day to workout. In my new book that releases next month, called The Perfect 10, I show you that 10 minutes a day is more than enough to stay healthy. This may not be enough to achieve your goals, but it is enough to stay fit.

As celebrities are always on the move, how do you manage to maintain their fitness levels?
Most of the celebrities are very conscious of their own fitness regimens, so it’s not very hard to keep them accountable. Either I travel with them, or I give them a workout schedule for while they’re away. And we always manage to keep them looking amazing!
Many people believe in calorie counting – what are your thoughts on this?
I believe in eating healthy. Don’t eat food out of a packet, eat local produce made fresh, and if you are counting, count the right amount of protein, good fats and fibre. All calories are not the same, don’t just count calories, fuel your body with good nutrition.
    What’s next for you?
We already have our presence in India, Dubai and Dhaka (Bangaldesh), and now we want to expand more internationally, both in the Middle East region as well as beyond.

Baby Rza is officially a big brother!
Rihanna recently gave birth to her second child in a discreet manner, alongside her partner A$AP Rocky, on August 3, 2023. The news arrives several months after Rihanna’s captivating pregnancy revelation during the halftime show of the 2023 Super Bowl.
The love story between Rihanna and ASAP Rocky began in September 2012 when they collaborated on the track “Cockiness (Love It),” which they also performed together at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. Despite years of speculation about their romance, it wasn’t until May 2021 that Rocky confirmed to a magazine that he and Rihanna were officially a couple.
In May 2022, Rihanna welcomed her first child, a baby boy named RZA Athleston Mayers. The couple chose to keep this moment private, only revealing their baby boy to the world in December of that year through an endearing video shared on TikTok. As they embark on this new chapter as a family of four, we eagerly anticipate catching a glimpse of the newest addition to their lives.

Let’s extend our warmest congratulations to Rihanna and A$AP Rocky as they embrace the joys of parenthood once again.

Queen Rania of Jordan shared a glimpse of her family’s 2023 summer break.
Taking some much-needed time off, the Royal Family of Jordan are spending their summer together. Queen Rania, who was away from social media for most of August, shared a few pictures with King Abdulla II of Jordan and her two younger kids, Prince Hashem and Princess Salma.
It has been a busy year for the Jordanian Royal family. The year began with the King and Queen’s oldest daughter, Princess Iman’s grand wedding to Jameel Alexander Thermiotis in March. Followed by the wedding celebrations of the Crown Prince of Hussein and Princess Rajwa Al-Husseins wedding celebrations in June.
As the older Royal kids embarked on new journies with their significant others, the King and Queen of Jordan spent their summer bonding with the younger two. Princess Salma, who recently graduated from the University of Southern California and Prince Hashem, who is now a High School graduate, are making the most of their summer before entering the next busy phase of their lives.
Princess Salma holds the rank of First Lieutenant in the Jordanian Air Force and also holds a degree in archeology. While academically, his path is yet to be revealed to the world, Prince Hashem has recently been filling some big shoes by accompanying His Highness King Abdulla II and Queen Rania on their official visit to Spain. Learning the ropes of their roles early on, both Prince Hashem and Princess Salma have a promising future ahead.

Exploring Mondoir: Founder Amir Soleymani on connecting Physical and Digital Art Worlds

Established in January 2023 by Amir Soleymani of Mondoir heralds a fresh artistic epoch in the UAE.
Located in Downtown, Dubai, its aim is to unify the mediums of physical and digital art by fostering a rich culture of expression and creativity. Envisioned to not only nourish a global community of digital artists but also to invigorate the dialogue between creators and their audiences, Mondoir acts as a creative catalyst. Through its distinctive amalgamation of experiences, tools, and systems, it provides artists with a platform to connect and collaborate.
In a free-wheeling chat with Emirates Man, Amir talks about bridging the gap, incorporating philanthropy and working at an intersection with technology under the realm of art.
What contributions have Mondoir made to the world of digital art so far?
We have made significant contributions to the world of digital art through many avenues such as:
    ● Improving Access – Through knowledge transfer by sharing resources such as smart contracts, information on how to use blockchain technology and supporting digital artists by collecting their works.
    ● Improving Discovery – By opening a gallery in Liverpool (Adelia), and hosting NFT Liverpool, we provided a platform for over 1500 digital artworks to be shown and curated by industry leaders such as Paris Hilton, Keith Grossman, Farokh, PAK, all free of charge and open to the public. The event trended on social media for over a month and provided a platform of discovery for several artists from around the world to have opportunities to be hired by brands, collected by collectors and showcased for the world to learn more about.
    ● Participating in the Digital Art Industry – I have curated a collection of over 2500 digital artworks and NFT art. This ‘put my money where my mouth is’ approach elevated the status of hundreds of artists, elevating their status from creator to collected artist and subsequently showcasing their work at the Mondoir and Adelia Galleries for the world to see. Also, my newly launched book, “The Art of Connectivity: Unveiling the Magic of NFTs”, lends further insight into my journey in the space to people worldwide and invites them to participate in one of the fastest-growing art spaces in history.● I also played a critical role in bringing attention and giving fidelity to the space in the early days. There were no PFP projects at that time – it was just digital art. By spending money on artists and purchasing artwork, I drew the art world and also the technology world’s eyes to the scene which grew our audiences and got more people involved. This key moment was pivotal to giving digital artists the fidelity they warranted and set the space up to see growth over the next several years.

When and where did you get the idea to establish the Mondoir Art Gallery?
After NFT Liverpool at Adelia Art Gallery in 2022, I knew there was an appetite for participation in the space from several key players. With this in mind, I turned Mondoir into an organization and made Dubai my home base, paying homage to the progressive and innovative culture of advancing emerging technologies in the UAE, and opened the Mondoir Gallery in Downtown Dubai earlier this year.
How do you incorporate philanthropy and activism into your work?
NFTs are one of the most innovative mechanisms to use for philanthropy. The nature of blockchain technology enables a more direct connection between participants in goodwill causes because it eliminates intermediaries and reduces the overhead costs of executing these campaigns.
I think of philanthropy as a critical pillar of my existence. In my book, I talk about the level of detail and attention I pay to each artist as I curate my collection, and have been for the past five years. One of the key elements of this is choosing artists that stand for a narrative or represent something to me – and being able to actively try and elevate the status of female artists or showcase NFT for good campaigns has been part of my participation for years.

    Founder Amir Soleymani
In what ways have your background and experience shaped you for this role in the art world?
By nature, I am a collector and a technologist. I have always been drawn to emerging technologies and understanding how they can empower people and creative expressions.
In my book, I talk at length about my experiences before entering the Web3 and NFT space. These shaped me profoundly both as a collector but also as an entrepreneur. Since diving into the NFT realm, I rely on these experiences to shape how I think about solving problems for the community. I am not a pedestrian. I like to first work backwards from my community and understand their pain points. This means I take time to involve myself at the ground level with what’s going on, actively participating in the scene.
What is Mondoir Ventures, and how does it operate at the intersection of art and technology?
At Mondoir, we believe that Web3 and blockchain represent the greatest opportunity for advancing humankind. The trust-less environment, foolproof provenance, and perpetual royalties schemas made possible through smart contracts can impact the operating space that artists, founders, collectors, communities and entrepreneurs know today.

I founded Mondoir Ventures this year to deliver experiences, develop tools and deploy systems to solve real-world problems and contribute to advancing Web3 adoption worldwide. Art is the language of creativity. Creativity is the catalyst of innovation. Innovation comes to life through technology.

A warrior’s soul by Roya Ghassemi
Can you elaborate on your dedication to supporting emerging artists and charity events in the digital art space?
I do this in a few ways. First, my team is developing products that specifically address the issue of discovery for artists. One of the most significant barriers to success is that many of the world’s artists find it challenging to be discovered or face obstacles imposed by institutions such as galleries and auction houses, i.e. getting a collector to notice them can be impossible. We want to solve this with novel tools that provide them with the upside of being part of a community of like-minded individuals whilst a well-designed product makes it easy for collectors to find them.

In addition, we have many initiatives to launch in the coming months to support artists and help further eliminate the barriers many face. We are working on novel ways to promote artists and causes through our gallery which operates out of one of the most prestigious locations in the Middle East.
How does your unique vision impact the communities you engage with through this gallery?
One of our key visions is to provide people with a hub to enter the Web3 and digital art space. The gallery is a physical space where knowledge transfer and a familiar introduction to one of the fastest-growing technology sectors occurs. It provides a platform for us and our partners to host events that provide people with tools and experiences to get them involved, learn how to engage with the space or learn about the opportunities it has provided for other artists.  It also gives us a mechanism to provide value for our community in innovative ways. For example, artists that use a directory. art is going to be featured in an upcoming exhibition at Mondoir Gallery, providing them with an amazing opportunity to be discovered by the public and collectors alike. Providing value streams for artists and participants in the art world is what we’re all about.

Our community is ever-growing. We see technology as a catalyst for collaboration and are still uncovering how we can work with people we never dreamed of. One example is our partnership with.ART domains, who will give our users a free “.art” domain name for a year on our premier product, directory. art. This unique collaboration with a domain registry has allowed us to offer additional utility to people using directory. art, in addition to the platform’s features, by letting them create a website for their art profile on their own .art domain.

    Mondoir Art gallery
What are some examples of social justice causes that you advocate for?
Over the past few years, I have actively advocated for many causes, including the Stop Asian Hate campaign during COVID-19, the Choose Love initiative, supporting refugees and people fleeing crisis, and the ps752 collection, which raised funds to support the families of the victims of flight PS752, tragically shot down in Iran.

I also support emerging female artists, and I have done this by actively curating female artists for my collection. Most notably, I wanted to put female artists on the map by purchasing Paris Hilton and Blake Katheryn’s Genesis piece, which was the largest purchase of an NFT created by female artists at the time.
How do you aim to promote knowledge and introduce digital art to new communities through his gallery?
The most significant opportunity with Mondoir Gallery is to bring digital art to visitors. We are hosting numerous exhibitions to get the public to attend and experience the art for themselves. We have brought state-of-the-art displays to life by showcasing different styles of digital art that create an immersive experience for the gallery’s visitors.

Another way we use our gallery for good and knowledge transfer is through partnerships with local institutions to provide educational workshops and internships and offer our subject matter expertise to complement existing educational initiatives. Expanding the youth’s awareness of the different and ever-expanding outlets of creative expression possible with blockchain technology today will pay dividends tomorrow. The youth are the future, and the UAE has a rich history of being at the forefront of advancing the world’s most cutting-edge technologies – digital art will be no different.
