Events you don’t want to miss in Dubai and Abu Dhabi this November

November is here, and so is the good Dubai weather. It is a great month for music fans, as big names such as Travis Scott, Lana Del Rey and Dua Lipa are set to bring the heat to the Emirates.

From Abu Dhabi to Dubai, here is your cultural guide for November:

Sharjah International Book Fair

The annual book fair has already kicked off and will run until Saturday, November 9. If you are a book lover, then this event is for you. This year, big names are expected to make an appearance, this includes: Turkey’s Nobel Prize-winning novelist Orhan Pamuk, India’s Oscar-winning lyricist Gulzar and American comedian and author Steve Harvey.

Da-Bangg: The Tour Reloaded, Coca Cola Arena

Fan of Bollywood? Then this is the event that you have been waiting for. Da-Bangg: The Tour Reloaded is a stage production starring some of the industry’s biggest names, including Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Sonakshi Sinha and Jacqueline Fernandez to name a few. The show relives the highlights of the extremely successful action film trilogy and has already toured the US and Canada. The show will take place at the Coca Cola Arena and you can get your ticket here.

La Piscina by Palazzo Versace, Dubai

Now that the weather is getting better, we can’t not make use of La Piscina’s complimentary access. Palazzo Versace’s newly opened pool is offering visitors who stop by weekday mornings free access to their pool, swim-up bar and restaurant. The new hot-spot also has a Ladies day on Monday, where women get free entry between 1pm and 4pm, as well as complimentary beverages.

Mica Paris, Dubai Opera

If you are a fan of Aretha Franklin’s music, and would love to spend a night listening to her biggest hits, then this is for you. A one night only tribute event for the iconic singer is coming to the Dubai Opera, with the British soul singer Mica Paris belting some of her most loved songs. The concert will take place Thursday November 14 2019, so buy your ticket now from dubaiopera.com.

Dua Lipa, The Pointe

This week, Dua released the first single of her upcoming second studio album. The Don’t Start Now is returning to the region, and is set to perform at the Pointe on Palm Jumeirah. The show will kick off at 4 pm with local artists taking to the stage before Dua makes her entry. Tickets start from and include a food voucher.There will also be free shuttle buses will be available from various locations across The Palm.

Wadi Bih Run, Hatta

Now that the weather is good enough for outdoor activities, the Wadi Bih Run is set to return to Hatta. The course includes solo distances (35, 20 or 10 kilometres) and team relays (70 or 35 kilometres) – something for everyone.

AR Rahman, Coca Cola Arena

The award winning-singer is returning to Dubai. He is set to perform on Friday, November 15, 2019 at City Walk’s Coca-Cola Arena. The two-time Academy Awards and Grammy Award winner will not be taking to the stage alone, as his concert will include a list of special guests. Tickets are available to purchase, starting at AED 50.

Brazil vs South Korea, Abu Dhabi

Are you a football fan? Then this should be right up your ally. Iconic Brazilian national team will be taking on South Korea in a friendly international game at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium. Big names like Neymar, Coutinho and Roberto Firmino are expected to make an appearance.

Why Not! Mazzika Festival, Coca Cola Arena

This upcoming music festival promises to bring Egypt’s booming indie music scene to Dubai. The Why Not! Mazzika Festival, will be held in Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena on Saturday, November 22, bringing half a dozen of Egyptian indie acts to the Emirate. Concert goers can expect the  hitmaker Mahmoud El Esseily, reggae-rock band Sharmoofers and Cairokee to name a few. Tickets are available on ae.bookmyshow.com and cost 

Yoga Fest, Dubai Internet City

Calling on all yogis, a yoga fest is coming to Dubai Internet City’s amphitheatre. The weekend-long event is an annual celebration of salutations, with entirely free classes open to all. There will be hundreds of classes across the themed areas: from the meditation tent to the movement tent. You will also have access to healthy food options at the nourish zone.

Marshmello, Abu Dhabi

The DJ behind hits like  has been announced as one of  the artists performing at Yasalam After-Race Concert at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2019. This year will be fire, with an incredible line-up. It will begin on Thursday, November 28, with Marshmello behind the DJ decks. To attend the four Yasalam After-Race Concert performances it is necessary to purchase a ticket for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Travis Scott, Abu Dhabi

Listen up hip-hop fans, Travis Scott is set to headline at the Yasalam After-Race Concert at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2019. Every year, Formula 1 delivers, and this year will be no different. The  rapper will perform at du Arena, Yas Island, on Friday, 29 November, the second of four after race concerts. Lana Del Rey

A fan favourite, Lana Del Rey is also jetting into the capital for the F1 after-race concerts. The indie singer just released her latest album two months ago, so fans can expect to hear some new songs, while also dancing to hits like Summertime Sadness. Lana will take to the stage on Saturday, November 30, completing the event’s all American line-up.
