As the world continues to grapple with the coronavirus pandemic, those who reside in the United Arab Emirates can take comfort in the country’s approach to tackling the virus.

The proof is in the numbers, as it was outlined in a recent media briefing the UAE has one of the lowest COVID-19 mortality rates globally.

In the last week, at the time of publishing, Dr Omar Al Hammadi, one of the official spokespeople for the UAE government, outlined that testing rates have increased by three per cent.

Meanwhile, the mortality rate for COVID-19 in the UAE has stayed extremely low compared to other countries, and is sitting at 0.4 per cent currently, one of the lowest across the globe.

Just yesterday, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai, received the COVID-19 vaccine which is currently being tested in the UAE.
