Every year, the month of October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, in order to highlight the importance of checking your breasts regularly to enable early detection of breast cancer.
In order to shine a light on Breast Cancer Awareness Month, HRH Princess Reema bint Bandar Al Saud has taken to social media to remember those who have lost their lives to the horrible disease, as well as those who are survivors.
“With October being #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, I want to take a moment to recognize the strong women battling this disease, the resilient survivors, and to honour the memory of those who are no longer with us,” she wrote on Twitter.

According to research, one in eight women get breast cancer and it’s the most common form of cancer in women. However, in almost all cases that are detected early, it has a 100 per cent five-year survival rate at stage one.
This means early detection equals great survival rates.
