All pubs and bars across Dubai must stop serving alcohol with immediate effect

In new directives released by Dubai Police in a circular released on Wednesday, June 24, all bars and pubs across Dubai must stop serving alcohol until further notice.

“We would like to inform you that it has been decided to close all bars and pubs and stop serving alcoholic beverages as of Wednesday 24/06/2020 until further notice,” the circular stated. “Kindly inform and abide by the decision to close in order to avoid legal issues.

“You will be notified to restart at a later time.”

However, restaurants are still allowed to continue to serve drinks provided they have a license and that customers order a meal.

No indicated date has been issued as to when the ban for bars and pubs may lift.

This comes after COVID-19 restrictions across Dubai were eased at the end of May, with many bars, pubs, restaurants, cafes and more having opened up.
