I’m going to be honest: prior to this weekend, my version of “dressed up” was a graphic tee and some jean shorts (jorts, if you will). Given everything that’s going on, the motivation to dress in real clothes simply wasn’t there.
But then a miracle happened—the weather broke 80 in Chicago, and we finally got a taste of summer. With that, my cozy sweatshirts that I’ve been living in the past few months went out the window and my will to dress up returned. Like I’ve mentioned before, dressing up in the summer is just easier—everything is flowy and lightweight and comfortable and work-from-home appropriate, even if it’s acceptable to go out in. Throwing on a light tank and jean shorts feels no different than a sweatshirt and leggings.
To officially welcome in summer, we’ve rounded up the best tops under $60 for the season—they’re easy, breezy, and you’ll never want to take them off.
