With the recent announcement that curfew hours in the UAE have been brought forward by two hours, the government has also outlined heavier fines residents could face if they display reckless behaviour and violate rules implemented to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
It was confirmed by a spokesperson for the UAE government violating the rules and reckless behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and in some cases violators could face six months in jail and fines of up to Dhs100,000.
With that, here’s a list of the updated fines for those who do not comply to the rules.
- Gyms, schools, cinemas, cafes, restaurants, pools and parks that do not adhere to COVID-19 restrictions face fines of Dhs50,000.
- Fines of Dhs20,000 will be implemented for not placing thermal cameras where they are required.
- Individuals who have or have had COVID-19 and refuse to download the ALHOSN UAE app face fines of Dhs10,000. If they are caught tampering with the app the fine is Dhs20,000.
- Hosting a party or gathering will result in fines of Dhs10,000 for the host and Dhs5,000 for every attendee.
- If workers are moved between emirates, there will be fines of Dhs10,000 for the company and the vehicle will be confiscated.
- If employees working from offices are not wearing masks they will be fined Dhs500 and Dhs5,000 for the company.
- Fines of Dhs5,000 for those who refuse to undergo a COVID-19 test.
- If offices do not comply to the 30 per cent limit, fines of Dhs3,000 will be implemented.
- Those who are caught violating curfew hours will be fined Dhs3,000.
- If you do not maintain social distancing in shops and restaurants individuals will be fined Dhs3,000 and businesses will be fined Dhs5,000.
- If you refuse to wear a mask in public places it’s a fine of Dhs3,000.
- Car will more than three people travelling in the vehicle at a time face fines of Dhs3,000.
- Refusal to redo a COVID-19 test after two weeks will result in a Dhs1,000 fine.
Yesterday it was announced curfew hours across the UAE will now be from 8pm until 6am in order for the national sterilisation programme to take place.
