Sheikh Mohammed kicks off three-day meeting to discuss life post-coronavirus

HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum kicked off a three-day meeting on Sunday in order to discuss procedures and preparations for life post-coronavirus.

The ruler of Dubai and Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE highlighted how the country’s “national priorities” need to be assessed in order to put a plan together.

The remote meeting is set to last until Tuesday, with His Highness discussing future plans with more than 100 officials – including ministers and secretary — generals of executive councils — from both federal government and local authorities, as well as international experts.

Sheikh Mohammed outlined the importance of the need for a strategy to be put in place not only for economic purposes, but also emergency plans in order to boost the productivity of the medical sector in the UAE.

“New teams are required to work faster, more thoroughly and more responsively to the fast-changing daily developments,” His Highness said.

“Our national priorities need to reviewed to cope with the post-COVID-19 world. Our financial and human resources need to be redirected to strengthen our medical, food and economic security through new programmes and project.”

The three-day meeting will focus on six key things: the economy, health, education, food security, the community and the government.
