Another royal wedding to look forward to
A Kurdish-Mexican reality star is set to marry into the British royal family.
Last month Hanna Jaff, who is the daughter of Kurdish business tycoon Dawood Jaff, announced her engagement to Henry Roper-Curzon, who is cousin to Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice.
The 33-year-old is a member of the Jaff Family Tribe and a descendant of Mohamed Pasha Jaff, a Kurdish king born in 1714.
“She is a descendant of Mohamed Pasha Jaff, Lady Adela, Osman Pasha Jaff, and Mahmud Pasha Jaff. Sherwana Castle is their ancestral home,” her personal website states.
Hanna’s mother, Lilia Laura, is Mexican, hence why she stars on the Netflix series .
In a post-engagement interview with , the reality star revealed her fiancé has a “very large respect for Kurdistan and for the Kurdish people”.
“He always says the Kurdish people are warriors,” she said. “He talked a lot with my father about the Jaff tribes and so is interested in knowing more.
“He always tells me he wants to visit and in the wedding he wants to have the Kurdish music and food. He is very proud.”
Hanna also added that her Kurdish roots are always in her “heart”.
Her fiance is the nephew of Sarah Ferguson, Prince Andrew’s ex-wife and mother to Beatrice and Eugenie. He is also heir to the title of Lord 22nd Baron of Teynham.
Sharing a sweet photo of herself and her fiance Hanna said, “The happiest I’ve ever been! Can’t wait to marry you!”
