We tried the Bvlgari Resort Dubai Iftar hamper and here’s our verdict

Bring your appetite

Take a break from cooking and let Bvlgari Resort Dubai treat you to an Arabic-Italian feast like no other. The Iftar hamper, priced at Dhs275 per person, includes 25 different dishes, all freshly prepared and stylishly delivered by a man in Bvlgari uniform.

The food and sauces arrive in separate plastic containers, all housed in large white Bvlgari boxes. Inside you get a written breakdown of the dishes, as well as re-heating instructions. Most of the selection is pretty easy to identify, though labelling could be helpful to those not familiar with some traditional Ramadan plates, or accompanying dressings.

Starters and Mezzeh include dates; marinated olives; caprese salad with burrata; Caesar salad with chicken; salmon confit; Bresaola with rucola and parmesan; fattoush; pesto pasta; eggplant parmigiana; tabbouleh; Arabic pickles; selection of breads; manakish by SEU (one with with lamb and another with halloumi) as well as hummus, moutabal, muhammara. You also receive two soups, lentil and Harira.

You can always wait for Suhoor before tucking into the rich mains that include an Arabic mixed grill; slow cooked lamb shoulder on a bed of rice; Mediterranean style seabass; vegetable Biryani; saffron rice; grilled vegetables and butter chicken.

No Iftar is complete without something sweet, and Bvlgari has put together six different desserts. As well as the traditional UmAli and Mahalabia, there is also creme caramel; a proper Italian tiramisu; selection of cheeses and cannolo Siciliano into which you have to pipe the provided cream. Oh, and you also get a box of the famed Bvlgari chocolates.

Everything tastes fresh and well-seasoned. The menu is diverse, but the Arabic dishes definitely came out on top. Our firm favourites included the manakish, butter chicken and cannolo Siciliano.

If you have dietary requirements, the hotel will do it’s best to accommodate.

A 5-star service at home
