UAE denies false rumours about closure of malls for two weeks

UAE authorities have clarified rumours that malls were set to be closed for two weeks, calling the claims totally false.

The National Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Management Authority took to their official Twitter account to rubbish the “false information” which was spreading on social media about malls supposedly closing for two weeks.

However, this is not true, as clarified by the authority.

Further to their denial of the rumours, the authority also urged members of the public “to ensure the authenticity of information before circulation” and making sure the information comes from official channels.

Malls in Dubai and across the UAE were previously closed to prevent the spread of COVID-19. However, over the last couple of months, shopping centres and malls in the UAE have slowly opened up and most are now running at full capacity.
