His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait, has sadly died at the age of 91.
The Kuwait State News Agency announced the news on their official Twitter account stating the “great sadness and sorrow” of the loss of His Highness.

Kuwait News Agency reported the death of His Highness the Emir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who held the position since 2006. The Kuwaiti people and Arab nations mourn his death.
HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, paid tribute to Sheikh Sabah on Twitter following the announcement of his death.

Posting a photo of His Highness, Sheikh Mohammed referred to the late Emir of Kuwait as the “compassionate father” of the country” and “the noble prince of humanity”.
HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, also paid tribute to the late Emir of Kuwait on Twitter.
