A reduction in work hours throughout Ramadan for those working in private sectors has been announced.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) confirmed over the weekend that as of today, Sunday, April 26, there will be a two-hour reduction in hours for private sector in employees throughout the Holy Month.
Ramadan is likely to last for 29 to 30 days. Given the Holy Month began on Friday, April 24, it is likely that Ramadan will end on May 23 or May 24, marking Eid Al Fitr.

Last week, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) confirmed via their official Twitter account stating the official working hours during Ramadan would be from 9am until 2pm for those who work in the public sector.
However, it was also noted by the government authority that provisions should be made if the nature of the work required it, especially related to remote work in emergency circumstances.
Meanwhile, some restrictions have been lifted regarding work from home policies that were in place due to the current outbreak of coronavirus.
On Friday it was announced via the Dubai Media Office Twitter page employees would be allowed to return to work in office if it is deemed “absolutely necessary”.

However, there are precautions that need to be followed. Number should not exceed 30 per cent of the total work force, and employees will be required to wear face masks and undergo temperature checks.
It is encouraged, where possible, that employees continue working from home.
