A lunchtime favourite or a quick snack, falafel is one of the most popular dishes to come out of the Middle East and is loved around the globe.
Bringing back attention to this humble dish is Gigi Hadid, 25, who appeared on the Food Network show in the US alongside chefs Anne Burrell and Bobby Flay.
Filmed last October and aired this week, it shows the Palestinian-American model flex her culinary muscles as she helps Flay prepare a falafel dish.
During the show, she mentions she used to make falafel in one of the restaurants her dad, real estate mogul Mohamed Hadid, used to take her to when she was little.
Gigi is an avid cook, sharing some of her favourite dishes on Instagram where she has a highlighted tab called ‘From My Kitchen’. During a Twitter Q&A earlier this year she shared that one of her go-to Palestinian dishes is “Kibbeh with labneh and tabbouleh, or just simple eggs and zaatar breakfast”.
The model and her boyfriend, singer Zayn Malik, are currently expecting their first child together and it’s reportedly a baby girl.
