Amidst the COVID-19 outbreak
A temporary travel ban has been put in place for all UAE citizens.
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announced all UAE citizens would be subjected to temporary international travel restrictions.
The move comes as part of the continued effort to minimise the exposure and spread of coronavirus. There is currently no indication of when the ban will be lifted.
The ministry stated it would continue to update the general public on any developments in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The travel restriction announcement came on the same day visas on arrival were suspended, affecting more than 70 countries. However, it does not affect people who are already residents.
Yesterday it was announced all public prayers in places of worship in the UAE are to be suspended for the next four weeks.
All entertainment destinations, hospitality establishments, wedding halls, gyms, spas and parks have also closed for the next two weeks. Additionally, all Dubai pubs, bars and lounges are closed until the end of March.
In the UAE there have been 113 confirmed cases of coronavirus, 87 of those cases are currently active and 26 have recovered.
