Greet 2020 with a bang
Tonight, the Dubai skyline will be ablaze with dazzling fireworks, shooting up into the air across several locations. It’s always hard o pick where you’ll be greeting 2020, so we made it a little easier by selecting our favourite spots to watch the glittering displays.
Dubai Festival City
Why don’t you celebrate 2020 by watching not one, but four firework shows at Dubai Festival City Mall? Celebrations are set to start early at DFC, with the fireworks kicking off at Festival Bay at 7 pm. This will be followed by another show at 9 pm, 11 pm and then finally the big bang during midnight.
Dubai Frame
Event planners have prepared a dazzling evening of fireworks and laser show at the 150m-tall frame. Make sure to also check out Zabeel Park nearby which is a hosting a Bollywood-themed night of music and food.
Burj Khalifa
Arguably one the busiest spots to watch NYE fireworks, the tallest tower in the world is back with a huge firework display alongside LED animation. They will also be attempting a world record with the longest choreographed fountain performance at the Dubai Fountain, so you could be part of history.
The Pointe
You don’t have to head all the way to Atlantis to see their gorgeous firework show. Instead, grab a prime spot at The Pointe beach to cheer in the New Year, and then head for something to eat at one of the waterfront restaurants.
Global Village
The worldly destination is taking NYE celebrations to a global level by scheduling firework displays every hour from 8pm, marking midnight in seven different time zones. The gates will be open from 4pm onwards and kids under 7 go free.
The Beach, JBR
Another iconic spot to watch New Year’s fireworks, the Beach on JBR will have a live band entertaining the crowd from 9pm onwards.
The Burj Al Arab fireworks never fail to disappoint, and the best vantage point is on Kite Beach. So pack a picnic, grab a spot on the sand and celebrate 2020 in true Dubai fashion.
