SPONSORED: An important celebration deserves a major stage, and Dubai Festival City Mall has something really special in store this Thursday.

The all-new IMAGINE show story is about Prince Jai and Princess Maya that are living peacefully with a family of elephants in the heart of the Karnataka forest in India. While the Prince and Princess are celebrating the birthday of Hathi, the youngest elephant in the herd, gunshots were heard, and a fire erupts in the forest. During the chaos, Hathi is separated from her family and the story narrates her journeys throughout India to find her way back home to her family.

“Tying in with the ‘Year of Tolerance’ we wanted to celebrate Diwali like never before and give the 3.3 million Indian expatriates that are away from home the chance to celebrate the occasion here with us in Dubai,” says Steven Cleaver, Director, Shopping Centres Dubai, Al-Futtaim Malls.

Aiming to be the biggest Diwali celebration ever taking place outside of India, the free event will kick off at 4pm with the first IMAGINE show scheduled for 8pm, followed by two and a half minute fireworks display.

But that’s not all. You will also be treated to Bollywood dance performances, live DJ playing the latest Bollywood music, a chance to win amazing prizes with Virgin Radio, City FM and Al Arabiya and the first 5,000 guests who arrive at 4pm will receive LED wristbands – well it is a festival of lights after all.

Won’t be in town this Thursday? Fear not as Hathi’s Garden will be running until November 29 and can be viewed from one of the 15 waterfront restaurants.
