Couldn’t imagine a better debut
If you were on the internet anytime yesterday, then you have heard this by now, Jennifer Aniston made her Instagram debut. The actress is a former social media recluse, and to say her first post “broke the internet” would be an understatement.
All of the cast have on social media for years, with the exception of Jennifer. However, this is all a thing of the past, as the 50-year-old actress is now part of Instagram, and it was a glorious debut. Last night, Jen sent fans into a frenzy, when she made her first post, a reunion shot of the six friends – the first full reunion since the show wrapped 15-years-ago. She captioned the long-awaited selfie: “And now we’re Instagram FRIENDS too. HI INSTAGRAM 👋🏻”
In less than 24-hours and at the time of writing this article, Jennifer managed to amass over four million followers, an incredible feat. Not only that, but her selfie caused the platform to crash, cause many people were following her. Fans were quick to notice that they were unable to follow the star on Instagram. Once you click on the follow button, it changes to “following” and back to “follow” again.
Despite being new to the application, actress quickly got a hang of things, posting several stories. She shared a post by Jennifer Garner, which she called “genius.” She also shared posts of friends and colleagues welcoming her to Instagram. This included a post by David Schwimmer, who played Ross, her long-running love interest. The actor posted a picture of Lego Rachel and Ross playing piano at central perk, which he captioned: “Hi Jen! x”
Also welcoming her to Instagram is former co-star and close friend Courtney Cox. The actress, best known for Monica posted recent picture of her and Jen, writing: “Hi Jen! Welcome to the social media world…it sucks. You’re gonna love it! ♥️♥️♥️”
