The children’s play museum OliOli is exhibiting an interactive string art installation from November 29 to December 3 – allowing kids to contribute to the public art piece. As more families participate, more strings will be added to the installation until the UAE flag is complete. Especially for the 48th UAE National Day, My OliOli Family Pass that offers up to 25% savings for families of four up to ten, will be available during the same time frame.

Dubai-based luxury label Alina Anwar Couture created a limited edition UAE flag-inspired dress called ‘UAE’ (‘Unite And Empower’). Highlighting the colours of the country, it features a long-sleeved A-line dress in velvet and tulle with intricate beadwork and sequin-detailing in red, green and white. To mark the 48th UAE National Day, the first 48 customers will receive a 48% discount from the retail price of Dhs4,000.

Escape to the desert

Want to feast on traditional dishes while being surrounded by desert dunes? Al Hadheerah located in Bab Al Shams resort is the perfect spot for stargazing and dancing. As well as live entertainment and a grand firework display, you can wander through a heritage village and museum to learn about Arab culture and tradition, while kids can enjoy camel, horse and pony rides.

There are several places you can watch fireworks light up the sky. Al Seef will stage theirs on December 1 and 2 at 8pm, La Mer will dazzle the skyline on December 1 and 2 on 8.30pm, the ever popular The Beach, JBR will showcase it’s display on the same days but at 9pm. Head to The Pointe at 8pm on December 2 or Global Village on the same night at 9pm.
