This retro spot is a refreshing addition to the Dubai restaurant scene

Lifestyle

Funky, retro, and fun define Business Bay restaurant Basko.

Minimalist dining atmospheres have been having their moment, but if you’re looking for somewhere different to dine, Basko is the perfect spot to satisfy your craving for something unique.

The Vibe

Reminiscent of a 1960s lounge, this Mediterranean restaurant and speakeasy-style bar boasts eye-catching interiors and decor everywhere you look.

With a vibrant outdoor terrace featuring views of the Downtown Dubai skyline and the Burj Khalifa, stylish indoor seating and an elevated speakeasy, the venue is the perfect backdrop for any occasion.

The Food

Equally as interesting as the setting, the zesty cuisine matches the playful ambience of the venue. The a la carte menu features a mixture of exciting flavours with one-of-a-kind dishes.

Some of our favourites include the eggplant and piquillos tarta, huevos rotos, a potato allumette with creamy smoked paprika, harissa sauce and perfect egg and some of the best short ribs you’ll find in Dubai. Other hero dishes include a classic sea bass ceviche, wild mushroom burrata and grilled seabass.

The After Party

Not only is Basko the ideal dinner spot, but it’s also the perfect place to continue the party into the early hours of the morning at the restaurant’s chic speakeasy bar, Suave.

This retro-inspired space features a library of over 200 vintage records, featuring hits from Queen to David Bowie, with the DJ spinning to tunes that are sure to impress all those who enter.

It’s definitely a party place no matter what day of the week it is.

The Brunch

Finally, Basko’s newly launched brunch ensures you start your weekend on a high note. Featuring an impressive three-course selection and balanced beverage pairings, the starters and tartines and brioches are sure to excite your appetite before you indulge in a main course with mouthwatering options like Saffron Cecina Spaghetti, Steak et Frites, or the Wagyu Burger. Ensure to leave room for the Instagrammable dessert moment of Cookie in the shape of a rose, or the tempting Saint Honoré.

Guests are also welcomed to head up the renowned mirror-adorned spiral staircase post-brunch to Suave where you can enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere until 6pm.

Basko’s is versatile enough to make it your spot for a great meal, just some drinks, or a weekend brunch with its ‘come as you are’ spirit, which is a welcome addition to the Dubai dining scene.
