HH Sheikh Mohammed wishes Indians Independence Day with a tweet in ‘Hindi’

Known for his secular approach and respect towards every nation, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai, took to Twitter to wish Indians on the occassion of Independence Day.

Today, as India celebrates its 77th Independence Day, dignitaries from across the world send their wishes to the great nation. One particular wish that stood out, was of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The Prime Minister of Dubai chose to congratulate the country in their official langugae – Hindi.

The heart-warming tweet by HH Sheikh Mohammed translates to, “As India celebrates its 77th Independence Day, I extend my congratulations to the leadership and the people of this great nation. On this joyous occasion, the UAE reaffirms its commitment to building a future of shared prosperity and growth, elevating our partnership to new heights, and exploring new horizons of political, economic, and cultural relations. Happy Independence Day, Swatantrata Diwas!”

UAE and India have always had positive diplomatic and economic relations. They share close ties in various fields including trade, investment, energy, and security cooperation. UAE as a country takes pride in the kaleidoscope of cultures it harbours. Across the region, the Indian National flag was hoisted today and even the mighty Burj Khalifa will be lit up in the tricolour, in honour of the said country today.
