You need to follow these rules on Dubai beaches or you’ll be fined

While restrictions have been lifted and public beaches are now open in Dubai, there are still rules in place that need to be followed. Fail to do so will result in fines.

However, over the weekend 221 fines were handed out on Friday to those who were found breaking the precautionary rules in place for public health and safety reasons.

It was confirmed by Dubai Police that fines were issued for people failing to wear masks and implement social distancing measures.

“Many Dubai beaches witnessed thousands of beach-goers since easing the measures,” Colonel Saeed Al Madhani, director of Ports Police Station in Dubai, told . “We noticed many of them insist to sit near the beaches’ facilities without adhering to safe distancing.

“The majority of the [fines issued] were for not wearing face masks and failing to maintain a safe distance between each other.”

Colonel Al Madhani also clarified people were warned first, then were fined if they were found not following the rules again.

The penalty for not wearing a mask or following social distancing rules is Dhs3,000.
