      Francis was first discovered by television presenter Davina McCall – who spotted him when he was doing stand-up comedy.

      PAUL Hollywood has cooked up plans for a kitchen and dining room extension at his £1million Kent farmhouse.The Bake Off star, 57, has served up the proposals so that he can use his 18th Century home for filming his shows and host Come Dine With Me-style parties.

      He wants to remove part of the rear ground floor elevation including two Crittall-style windows to link the house with the “modest” extension.
      But he could face a battle with planners at the local council for the “distinctly different” addition.
      In a statement, his planning agent said: “My client, a respected and well-known professional chef, requires the larger space for filming and entertaining; the internal layout, with an island unit and dining table on the same axis, respond to this.
      “My client wishes to extend the farmhouse to enlarge the cramped gallery kitchen to provide additional cooking/preparation space and a dining area beyond.”

      Hollywood bought his four-bedroom Kent farmhouse for over £850,000 in 2019 but it is now believed to be worth over a million pounds.
      The rural retreat boasts stables, an orchard, paddock, shepherd’s nook and poultry run, set in eight acres in the so-called Garden of England.

      Outspoken Brit Caity Baser has also been putting in the groundwork in 2023 and will continue to rise with her brash and gobby brand of pop.
      Home-grown indie girl group The Last Dinner Party have already been named the Rising Star before March’s Brit Awards and are sure to become a regular on the radio.
      Kenya Grace topped the charts with Strangers in October and she is due to release an EP of her lo-fi dance music in the coming months.
      Fellow Brit Fred Roberts has been building up a fanbase and released a belting single in Say.
      Finally, Ayra Starr has become more and more popular following her collaboration My Love, with Leigh-Anne Pinnock, now it looks like 2024 could be her year to have her own monster hit.
