      He’s since built up a successful career for himself in the West End, having starred in Bat Out Of Hell and now The Stock Aitken Waterman Musical: I Should Be So Lucky.
      At yesterday’s press night, Giovanni performed in front of a star-studded crowd including Jenni Falconer, Jess Impiazzi and Abbie Quinnen.
      But it was Strictly judge Shirley who he caught up with after the show, and who he even introduced his grandma to.
      Sharing a post to Instagram, Shirley heaped praised upon the production, writing, “@soluckymusical the most uplifting, bright and beautiful show I’ve seen in a very very long time.

      “@giovannispanoofficial nanny and I had an absolute blast. We cheered, sang and laughed sooo loud. You are an absolute superstar and we’re so proud of you.
      “A huge congratulations to the whole cast for putting on this outstanding show.
      “It’s a must see … get your tickets you’ll absolutely love it and you’ll be out of your seats singing and dancing just like the whole theatre this evening. Very well done. Xxxx.”
      I Should Be So Lucky uses the extensive back catalogue of the pop geniuses who dominated the charts four decades ago, creating superstars including Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Rick Astley, Sonia and Brother Beyond.

      The Sun first revealed in 2019 that the musical was in the works.
      Giovanni spoke to us shortly after his X Factor stint, revealing he struggled to look in the mirror as a teenager before his muscular transformation.
      He won over the audition audience and judges with his rendition of Goo Goo Dolls’ Iris.
      While he’s been inundated with messages of support and branded a heartthrob, Gio told The Sun it hasn’t always been that way.
      He explained: “I was growing up in my teenage years as this chubby kid. I always got by, I always had fun, I always had friends but it was tough, it was tough to look in the mirror sometimes.
      “It was difficult and a really tough time in my life, but I kept pushing and working hard.
      “I always stayed focused on listening to music and DJing and learning how to play instruments.
      “I never really got involved with girls, and I’m still shy deep inside. When I get messaged like that, I’m like ‘wow, where does this come from?'”
      “I’m humble and receiving messages like that, I’m extremely flattered and it’s so wonderful.
      “There’s no where it says in the book it says you have to be an arrogant fool to be a rock star.”

      Gio decided to transform his look at the age of 22, primarily in a bid to be healthy.
      He explained: “I was in a show at the time and I said nothing is going to change if I don’t try and improve myself and be healthy and just look after myself more than anything.”

      Despite being banned from attending the Strictly studio, Jackiey turned up to Utilita Stadium in Newcastle for the live show.
      Bobby, 20, was allocated 22 tickets to his family across the series, but Jackiey was denied a place.
      She travelled almost three hundred miles from her Bermondsey home in London for the Toon’s opening night.
      Jackiey was spotted sitting alone in the crowd, wiping away tears as Bobby performed on stage.

      She held up a score paddle, rating grandson Bobby dancing skills a ’10’, as she cheered for the 20-year-old.
      There is a long-running feud between 66-year-old Jackiey and the Bobby’s father Jeff Brazier.
      Jeff previously hit out at Jackiey and claimed she “overstated” how much time she spent with his sons.
      In 2021 Bobby revealed he was back in touch with Jackiey after they lost contact.

      Speaking to his fans on Instagram, Bobby said: “I didn’t see her for ages – for way too long – but I went to see her twice recently.
      “And honestly if there’s one woman you shouldn’t underestimate it’s my nan. Honestly, she’s like a wizard! It’s nuts.”
      Jackiey recently said she was “a very proud nan” and watched her grandson every week on TV.
      But she added that Jeff had been “a c**k for f**ing nine years.
      During the BBC series, Bobby danced with pro partner Dianne Buswell to This Woman’s Work by Maxwell.
      In an emotional clip shown moments before the routine, he dedicated it to his family and his mum, saying he’d like to spend a day with her “just to see where I get my smile from”.
      Jade, who starred in 2002’s Big Brother, died at 27 in 2009 after being diagnosed with cervical cancer.
      Jackiey had joined her daughter in the BB house in 2007 for the celebrity version of the show.
      Bobby is dancing with professional Dianne Buswell, but is said to be enjoying a tour romance with co-star Ellie Leach.

      ‘You know what you’re signing up for’ says Strictly’s Shirley Ballas in swipe at Amanda Abbington after backing Giovanni

      It came after Lorraine asked Shirley about the under-fire professional dancer’s desire to win.
      She said: “I’ve known Giovanni [Pernice] for many, many years and he’s an absolutely splendid teacher.
      “My only experience of him is that of an absolute gentleman.
      “He serves the show well and he gives 100 percent.”

      She continued: “They’re tough shows.
      “When you sign up for a show like that you kind of know what you’re getting in for, it’s been on screen for 20-odd years.”
      The thinly-veiled criticism comes after BBC bosses backed Giovanni following a face-to-face meeting, deciding his approach was firm but fair.
      A source close to Sherlock star Amanda, 51, claimed the Italian pro’s demanding behaviour in rehearsals left her in floods of tears and affected her appetite.

      The insider added that Amanda has PTSD as a result.
      They said: “Amanda has been left broken and saddened by the whole experience.
      “She has needed therapy and was left in shock by the behaviour she was exposed to.
      “It has taken her months to get over what she went through.
      “It was a real shock as she was initially so excited to sign up to the show to learn to dance, but instead she experienced an ordeal.”
      They added: “Everyone else was having a fabulous time, but she was really stressed by having to spend eight hours a day with Giovanni. 
      “She spent a lot of time crying and couldn’t sleep or eat properly.”
      In a bid to help her case, Amanda requested footage from the pair’s rehearsals.
      An on-set source explained: “The BBC has received a request for the footage they hold of Amanda and Giovanni. It is known as a data subject access request.
      “There is a feeling that the recordings will lift the lid on what really goes on behind the scenes on Strictly. Things in rehearsals can become very tense.
      “Giovanni is a perfectionist and he can be incredibly full-on.”
      In September, we first revealed how Amanda had ‘threatened to quit’ the long-running dance show.
      It was reported that several rows and escalating tension became the talk of backstage.
      A source told us: “Giovanni is a hard taskmaster and takes the competition very, very seriously.
      “Sometimes his manner is incredibly brusque and this can upset his partners.
      “Amanda was really looking forward to dancing with him, but has found his aggressive training style and attitude pretty difficult to handle.
      “He is quite militant in his approach to training. She’s been left very shaken, and has liaised with her team about quitting.”
      The source added: “It has become far more stressful than she ever imagined and at the moment things between them are incredibly tense.”
      Just under a month later, the actress was ruled out of week five of the competition on undisclosed medical grounds.
      At the time we reported how bosses left panicked as they thought she might withdraw from the show.
      She was initially given a bye, as per the rules, but she then eventually withdrew from the competition.
      Amanda then snubbed Giovanni in her departure statement on social media.
      The actress wrote: “It is with deepest regret that I had to leave Strictly.
      “I did not come to this decision easily or lightly but for personal reasons I am unable to continue.
      “It was an absolute joy working with my fellow contestants, they are a beautiful, hardworking and talented group of people who I love and who I will miss seeing every Friday and Saturday and competing alongside.
      “I want to thank the incredible Production team and everyone on Strictly who looked after me and who are so kind and caring.
      “It’s a wonderful bunch of people and I’ll miss all of them.
      “I’m so sad that I am unable to go any further.”
      She added: “Thank you to everyone who voted and who sent wonderful messages and inspiring support. You are all amazing. Truly. Thank you. Xxx”

      But it now seems that Ranvir, 46, and Louis, 28, have taken a big step in their relationship.
      He is 18-years younger than his girlfriend, and they met when he worked behind the scenes of her series of Strictly Come Dancing.
      Other credits in the industry include Soccer Aid and Channel 4’s hit cooking show, Come Dine With Me.
      In a new interview, Ranvir opened up on her relationship with the star as she shared details about her personal routine at home.

      She told The Telegraph: “[At 5:30am] I try to talk myself back to sleep but it doesn’t always work. I get up, make a decaf tea and start chopping an onion for a dahl for lunch
      “My partner Louis is terrible. He always hits snooze every ten minutes – it drives me mad!”
      She already lives with her 10-year-old son Tushaan, whom she shares with her ex-husband Ranjeet Singh Dehal, and her older mother.
      She admits that after breakfast, the family like to take their dog out for a walk together, where she is not afraid to go completely natural in front of her partner.

      Although she seems invested in her romantic relationship, she admits that her busy career has taken somewhat of a toll on her personal life.
      The TV presenter admits that she relishes the weekend as she gets to spend quality time with her son.
      “Saturdays are our precious time together,” she confessed.
      “He missed me in the mornings while I was working hard as a TV political editor around the world.
      “I was working 18-hour days, I was literally caning it while I had a little child at home. I felt the need to achieve and prove myself – I still do.”
      But she also admitted that both Louis and her son have developed a close bond, so much so they even exclude her from activities.
      “I’d love to say I spend a wintery evening in, playing family board games, but in reality, Louis and Tushaan play video games and I’m excluded!”
      She added: “Sometimes we go to the cinema and Nando’s but we also love watching At Home With The Furys on Netflix.”

      Strictly Come Dancing runner-up spotted on stag do in Scots city

      Strictly runner-up Joe Sugg enjoyed life in the fast lane as he celebrated a pal’s stag do.The famous YouTuber and actor headed up to the Highlands for the celebration and spent part of the trip on the track at Inverness Kart Raceway.

      The company was delighted to welcome the 13-strong group – and gave the star a special mention on their Facebook page.
      A photo of the adrenaline-loving lads donning race suits, was shared on January, in a post which read: “Today we had our first Stag group of 2024.
      “We had a delightful group on track today and they were joined by a special guest, Joe Sugg!”
      It’s unclear what position Joe came in at, but judging by the smile on his face, we can assume he didn’t come in last.

      Joe Sugg first made a name for himself on YouTube, where his hilarious prank and vlog videos attracted millions of viewers from around the world.
      But it was when he finished in second place on Strictly Come Dancing in 2018, that he really became a house-hold name.

      Michael Gruber, the man behind Kylie Minogue and Christina Aguilera’s residencies at the Voltaire nightclub at the Venetian Hotel, is backing the Everything Changes singers to put on a show.

      Michael said in an exclusive chat with Bizarre: “I love Take That. I absolutely want them to perform at Voltaire. It is perfect for them.”
      He went on to reveal that he had previously been locked in talks with Take That, who also include Mark Owen and Howard Donald, but said they couldn’t get it over the line.
      He added: “We thought we would have a show but it didn’t work out in the end.”
      Gary admitted in December that the trio, whose comeback record This Life went straight to the No1 spot in last month, were keen to put on a show in Vegas.
      I will be catching up with the band to get an update on the plans later this year, when they kick off their tour in Sheffield on April 13.

      Still revelling in his “hot priest” era, Andrew Scott – who turned up in a T-shirt that seemed to have an artist’s impersonation of me in the mornings printed on the front – enjoyed the night with actresses Christina Hendricks and Rosamund Pike.
      Heidi Klum and Reese Witherspoon kept it in the family, with the supermodel taking her daughter Leni as her date and the Oscar-winning Walk The Line star bringing along her son Dylan.
      It beats helping your mum with the weekly shop, kids . . . trust me.

      BECAUSE our soft and crumbling justice system means people hardly ever serve a full sentence behind bars, the morally decrepit Stephen Bear will be swaggering out of HMP Chelmsford in the next few days.
      But for a bit of good news.
      I have been told his trusted way of making quick cash has been cut off at source, after OnlyFans vowed to ban him from their platform.
      Before he went down, Celebrity Big Brother contestant Stephen had been cashing in with grim videos of himself on OnlyFans, which weirdly people paid to watch.
      I’d rather douche my eyes with vinegar.
      I’m told OnlyFans made the decision after Love Island’s Georgia Harrison bravely worked with police last year to nail him for revenge porn, after finding out he had secretly recorded them together and posted it on the subscription site.
      An industry source said: “If Stephen thinks he’s walking out on to Easy Street, he’ll get a shock when he tries to reactivate his OnlyFans account.
      “OnlyFans worked with the police at the time and Stephen had to pay back the money he made from it.
      “They won’t allow members on the platform who have made a serious breach of the rules.
      “So if he thought he’d be coming out and logging back on to try and make some money, it won’t be happening.
      “Stephen made shedloads of cash from them before he was jailed, so he’s lost the only lifeline he had.”
      I have no doubt in my mind that reactivating his account is exactly what Stephen had in mind for the first week of his release.
      And I sincerely hope OnlyFans stick to their word.
      There is only one place for Stephen to go now, and that’s the gutter.

      WEDNESDAY: THE nominees for the EE Bafta Rising Star award will be announced at an event in central London, pinpointing the most promising talent in cinema for the next 12 months.
      James MCavoy, Tom Hardy, Kristen Stewart and Tom Holland have won the title before, so there will be high expectations on the shoulders of those who are shortlisted ahead of next month’s awards.
      FRIDAY: LIL Nas X will return with the first single from his second album, which is bound to cause a stir.
      The song, called rumoured to be called J Christ, could even have a surprise guest, as he tweeted: “My new song features a very beloved pop star who I’ve been a fan of for a long time.”
      Only time will tell if he is actually referring to himself.
      FRIDAY: KANYE West and Ty Dolla $ign are due to release their album Vultures after three months of delays.
      If this actually does materialise, it’s likely to feature a track called Everybody, sampling Backstreet Boys’ song of the same name, which Kanye previewed last month.
      He’s still got a long way to go to redeem himself after his antics of late.
      SUNDAY: THE great and the good of Hollywood will once again descend on Los Angeles for the Critics’ Choice Awards following last night’s Golden Globes.
      Barbie looks set to dominate with a record-breaking 18 nominations, followed by Oppenheimer and Poor Things with 13 each. Margot Robbie, you’ve got my vote.
      IT’S HALL OVER FOR ROGER

      MICK YES ON STONES TOUR
      SIR MICK JAGGER has been giving it the big licks lately – and finally confirmed the Rolling Stones will be touring the UK with album Hackney Diamonds.
      He revealed tour plans for the UK with Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood are in the works ahead of their US leg, which starts in Houston on April 24.

      Awards season began last nigh and Grammys, Oscars and Brits are just around the corner.
      I’ve been behind loads of big stories in the past year, from lifting the lid on the Holly and Phil fall-out to the Blur and Stones’ comebacks.
      I’ve also interviewed Robbie Williams, James Blunt, Jack Whitehall and Rod Stewart.
      As for me, I grew up in Leicester but I’m an avid Spurs fan thanks to my dad. My secret crush is Mick Hucknall and I’m rarely out of a tracksuit. But the less said about my clobber the better.
      I’ve learned a lot over the years, wading through b*ks like treacle. And trust me, there is plenty of b*ks. But the truth is, celebs are just like us.
