‘You are already sorely missed’: Prince Harry’s heartfelt tribute to the Queen

Prince Harry has made a heartfelt tribute to his beloved grandmother, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, following her death last week.
The Duke of Sussex paid homage to the late monarch on behalf of himself and his wife, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex in a harrowing statement.
Referring to her as “granny”, the 36-year-old paid tribute to the Queen, who died aged 96, sharing his admiration for her “unwavering grace and dignity remained true throughout her life and now her everlasting legacy”.
Prince Harry went on to say that while his grandmother’s death brought on “great sadness”, he was grateful for the times they were able to cherish together when he was growing up, and as a married man and father-of-two.

“Granny, while this final parting brings us great sadness, I am forever grateful for all of our first meetings—from my earliest childhood memories with you, to meeting you for the first time as my Commander-in-Chief, to the first moment you met my darling wife and hugged your beloved great-grandchildren,” he said. “I cherish these times shared with you, and the many other special moments in between.
“You are already sorely missed, not just by us, but by the world over.”
The Duke of Sussex also went on to affirm his support for his father as the new monarch, saying, “And as it comes to first meetings, we now honour my father in his new role as King Charles III.”
“Thank you for your commitment to service,” he continued. “Thank you for your sound advice. Thank you for your infectious smile. We, too, smile knowing that you and grandpa are reunited now, and both together in peace.”
Prince Harry’s statement came after he reunited with his brother, Prince William, publicly for the first time since 2021, appearing on the grounds of Windsor Castle with his wife, Meghan Markle and sister-in-law Kate Middleton, who is now the Princess of Wales.

The two couples, previously known as the ‘fab four’, put on a front of solidarity on Sunday following the Queen’s death, as they greeted fellow mourners at the gates of Windsor Castle and thanked everyone for their tributes and kind words.
The Queen’s funeral is set to take place at London’s Westminster Abbey on September 19, 2022.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has died aged 96

    Lifestyle

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-ever reigning monarch of the United Kingdom, has died aged 96.
Buckingham Palace confirmed the heartbreaking news in a statement.
“The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon,” the statement read. “The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”

    — The Royal Family (@RoyalFamily) September 8, 2022

The Queen, who had been under medical supervision at Balmoral Castle, was surrounded by her family members including the King, formerly Prince Charles, the Queen Consort, Prince William, Prince Harry, Prince Edward, Sophie Wessex, Prince Andrew, Princess Anne and more.
    A monumental life
The Queen had a monumental life, devoted to the service of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth of Nations.
Her Majesty, then Princess Elizabeth, ascended to the throne on February 6, 1952, after her father, King George VI, passed away after 16 years on the throne, leaving his eldest daughter, then 25 years old to succeed him as monarch.

The long-reigning British monarch marked her Platinum Jubilee, celebrating an incredible and monumental 70 years on the throne this year.
When she was 21 years old, the then princess promised, in a heartfelt speech, that her “whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong”.
These important words were a symbol of her long-standing devotion, dedicating her life to the service of her country and the Commonwealth of Nations.
For the majority of her reign, Her Majesty was supported by her devoted husband Prince Philip, whom she married in November 1947. The Duke of Edinburgh died in 2021 at the age of 99.

In her Platinum Jubilee statement, Her Majesty reflected on being “fortunate” to have had her late husband Prince Philip as firm support by her side for most of her reign.
“I had a partner willing to carry out the role of consort and unselfishly make the sacrifices that go with it,” she said. “It is a role I saw my own mother perform during my father’s reign.”
    What lies ahead
So, what’s next for the monarchy?
The former Prince of Wales, who is now king, succeeds his late mother as monarch. The late Queen laid out her hopes for the future when she marked her Platinum Jubilee.

While she thanked everyone for the support and loyalty they have shown her over the years during her reign, the Queen acknowledged that when “the fullness of time” would come apparent for Prince Charles to become king, the public would show the same support and gratitude to the heir apparent and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, now the Queen Consort.
To which the Queen then acknowledged Camilla would be known as Queen Consort. Over the years, this has been up for debate as Camilla is the second wife of Charles, who was married to the beloved late Princess Diana from 1981 to 1996.
Concluding her Platinum Jubilee message, the Queen shared her hopes that it would be an occasion to bring loved ones and family together.
“And so as I look forward to continuing to serve you with all my heart, I hope this Jubilee will bring together families and friends, neighbours and communities – after some difficult times for so many of us – in order to enjoy the celebrations and to reflect on the positive developments in our day-to-day lives that have so happily coincided with my reign,” she said.
Her Majesty’s reign and influence across the global stage for over seven decades was nothing short of iconic and we hope she may rest in peace.

Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan is marking her 52nd in the best way possible, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
The Jordanian royal took to Instagram to post a birthday photo in celebration of her birthday, and it’s an extra special one.
In the photo appears her four children, Crown Prince Hussein, Princess Iman, Princess Salma and Princes Hashem, but there’s also two other very special individuals in the snap.
Making an appearance for the first time in a family photo is Crown Prince Hussein’s fiancee, Rajwa Al Saif, and Princess Iman’s fiance Jameel Alexander Thermiotis. It’s a very special moment as the Jordanian royal family expands, as Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Iman only recently announced their impending nuptials to their respective partners.
What’s more, Rajwa and Jameel were posing in the photograph right next to their future mother-in-law, a sign they’re being welcomed with open arms into the family.

“My heart is full!” Queen Rania said on Instagram. “Couldn’t ask for a better way to celebrate than with all my loved ones around me.”
While her husband, King Abdullah II, didn’t appear in the photograph, a new portrait of the royal pair was released earlier in the day to mark Queen Rania’s birthday.
The photograph was released on the official Instagram page of the Royal Hashemite Court where well-wishes were shared for the Jordanian royal.

In pics: Grandfather Sheikh Mohammed dotes on Fazza’s twins Rashid & Shaikha

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, has shared some adorable new photographs of his father doting on his grandchildren, twins Rashid bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum and Shaikha bint Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum.
In the photos, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, is seen spending quality time with the little ones whilst they holiday in the UK as a family.
The first photograph shows the Dubai Ruler with little Shaikha, helping her to walk. The second photo shared by Sheikh Hamdan shows Sheikh Mohammed with young Rashid, playing in the garden.

Along with the photos, Sheikh Hamdan, who is affectionately known as Fazza, shared a poem Sheikh Mohammed penned about twins Rashid and Shaikha in Arabic.
The Dubai Ruler himself shared the poem on his official Instagram page alongside a photograph previously shared by Sheikh Hamdan of the four enjoying quality time in the UK together.

    Summer in London
Fazza has been enjoying a long holiday in London over the summer months.
Just a couple of weeks ago, he was spending time in the UK’s capital and was seemingly able to go about his day being unrecognised.
His Highness shared a selfie on Instagram with his friend Badr Ateej riding the crowded London Underground.
“We’ve got a long way to go and Badr is already bored,” he said in the caption of the post.

A few weeks prior, the Crown Prince of Dubai was recognised around central London as he was driving. In a video captured by Sheikh Hamdan’s friend Ahmad Jaber Al Harbi, the royal is seen interacting with two fans.
Sheikh Hamdan was in his car driving in the city when he was stopped for some photos by the two individuals, who also happened to be Dubai residents.
Not ever one to say no to a photo, Dubai’s Crown Prince enthusiastically posed with the fans, even helping them to get the right shot.
At one point in the video, the male fan says “Sorry to bother you” but Fazza responded saying, “No, it’s okay”, also shaking his hand.

His Highness is a regular visitor to the United Kingdom, as are many other members of the Dubai royal family.
