    Queen Elizabeth II, the longest reigning monarch in the United Kingdom’s history, died aged 96 on September 8, 2022.
    Her Majesty died “peacefully” at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, according to Buckingham Palace.
    Her son, now known as King Charles III,  ascended the throne last weekend in a coronation ceremony watched by millions around the globe. His son Prince William is now the new heir to the UK throne.
    Last year, Queen Elizabeth became the first-ever British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years on the throne.
    Throughout her seven decades on the throne, Her Majesty maintained a close relationship with the GCC countries, having visited the region on many occasions.

    The royal family bids a final farewell to Queen Elizabeth II with poignant photo

    Yesterday, the world bid its final farewell to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-ever reigning monarch of the United Kingdom.
    A few hours after the ceremony took place, the Royal Family shared an unseen image in loving memory of Her Majesty The Queen, who lived from 1926 to 2022.
    Taken at Balmoral Castle in 1971, deemed to be one of her favourite places in the UK, the Queen is seen amidst plush fauna surrounding on the Scottish estate with an elegant scarf wrapped around her head.  The photo was a poignant one, given the Queen passed away at Balmoral.
    The image was shared with the one of Shakespeare’s most popular quotes from Hamlet: “May flights of Angels sing thee to thy rest.”

    These were some of the precious words which King Charles III used in his first televised speech as monarch, paying tribute to his late mother.
    This previously unpublished photo pays a tribute to the Queen and her years of dedication to the country. She made a lifelong commitment to serving the country on her 21st birthday and effortlessly carried out her duties as British monarch.
    Laid to rest on September 19, 2022, a total of 2,000 guests, including 500 dignitaries, foreign royals and leaders and members of the Royal Family were in attendance at the state funeral service at Westminster Abbey.
    The Queen has been buried at Windsor Castle alongside her late husband Prince Philip, after an intimate ceremony with the Royal Family members.

    UAE declares three-day mourning period to honour Queen Elizabeth II

    The UAE will observe three days of mourning to mark the demise of Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-serving monarch.
    The flags across public and private sectors in the UAE and in the country’s embassies abroad will be lowered to half-mast, starting Friday, September 9, for a period of three days, the official news agency WAM reported.
    Queen Elizabeth II passed away on September 8, at the Balmoral Castle in Scotland at the age of 96. A respected figure across the globe, Queen Elizabeth II acceded to the throne on February 6, 1952.
    In June this year, Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her Platinum Jubilee as a British monarch, marking 70 years of service to the people of the UK, the Realms and the Commonwealth.
    The former Prince of Wales, who is now king, succeeds his late mother as monarch. The late Queen laid out her hopes for the future when she marked her Platinum Jubilee.
    UAE leaders offered their condolences on the demise of the British monarch. Leaders from across the world also extended their condolences and paid their respects to the Queen.
    His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai offered his heartfelt condolences to the British royal family minutes after the news was shared by The Royal Family on Twitter.
    In his message, Sheikh Mohammed said, “We join the world in mourning the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, a global icon who represented the finest qualities of her nation and people. Her incredible life of service and duty to the United Kingdom is unparalleled in our modern world.”

    The long-reigning British monarch marked her Platinum Jubilee, celebrating an incredible and monumental 70 years on the throne this year.
    When she was 21 years old, the then princess promised, in a heartfelt speech, that her “whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong”.
    These important words were a symbol of her long-standing devotion, dedicating her life to the service of her country and the Commonwealth of Nations.
    With years of dedication to her country, we can look back and say she did her people proud.

    His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai offered his heartfelt condolences to the British royal family minutes after the news was shared by The Royal Family on Twitter.
    In his message, Sheikh Mohammed said, “We join the world in mourning the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, a global icon who represented the finest qualities of her nation and people. Her incredible life of service and duty to the United Kingdom is unparalleled in our modern world.”

    Buckingham Palace confirmed the heartbreaking news in a statement, this evening.
    “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon,” the statement read. “The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”
    Her Majesty had a monumental life, devoted to the service of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth of Nations.
    The Prince of Wales, who is now king, succeeds his late mother as monarch. The late Queen laid out her hopes for the future when she marked her Platinum Jubilee.
    The Queen’s reign and influence across the global stage for over seven decades was nothing short of iconic and we hope she may rest in peace.
