He has always been a beam of light as one of the key leaders of the UAE with his longstanding grit and passion for the country. Consistently optimistic about the challenges faced in the nation, he also has a reputation for giving strangers a helping hand and is known for also giving back to the community. As today is a special occasion for this inspiring leader, we look back at some of his most heartwarming moments shared with the people of the nation. When he surprised an Afghani carpet merchant with a visit An Abu Dhabi-based Afghani carpet merchant went viral in October 2017 after a video surfaced of him refusing Dhs100,000 to sell a portrait he had of Sheikh Zayed in his shop. Four months later in February 2018, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed visited the merchant. In the heartwarming moment, His Highness gave the merchant a Year of Zayed badge and later shared the admiration he had for the Afghani man.       UAE President initiates construction of field hospital in Gaza

      In response to the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a field hospital is soon to be established in the Gaza Strip to provide vital medical assistance to the Palestinian population.
      This endeavor is an integral part of the ongoing ‘Gallant Knight 3’ humanitarian operation, which was set into motion by His Highness just yesterday.

      The UAE had previously pledged $20 million in urgent aid for the Palestinian population and initiated a program to bring approximately 1,000 Palestinian children, along with their families, from the Gaza Strip to receive medical treatment at UAE hospitals. Additionally, a community relief campaign for Palestinians affected by the current conflict has been launched in the UAE, under the banner ‘Compassion for Gaza.’
      A fleet of five aircraft took off from Abu Dhabi International Airport, carrying all the necessary equipment and supplies required for the upcoming field hospital. These cargo shipments will be offloaded at Al-Arish Airport in Egypt, from where they will be transported to the Gaza Strip.
      The construction of the field hospital, designed to accommodate up to 150 patients, will unfold in several phases. It will comprise specialized departments for general surgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, gynecology, as well as fully-equipped anesthesia and intensive care units for both children and adults.
      Furthermore, the facility will include clinics offering services in internal medicine, dentistry, psychiatry, and family medicine. The hospital will be equipped with essential diagnostic and support services, including CT imaging, a fully-functional laboratory, a pharmacy, and other crucial medical facilities.
      This initiative underscores the UAE’s unwavering commitment to supporting and standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people, particularly during the ongoing challenging circumstances they face.
