      Jordan’s unexpected career news was made public on Friday – with The Sun then reporting the I’m A Celeb star’s new job at a rival station.
      After Radio 1 told how Jamie would be stepping into his shoes, many fans weren’t happy, with a large chunk suggesting an amateur presenter should have been given a chance instead.
      With 24 hours to digest the comments, Jamie has now revealed his sadness at the brutal backlash.
      He re-posted a comment to social media which read: “You’re kidding Jamie Laing. Who on this earth would want to listen to his pompous nonsense.

      Jamie added his view as he wrote: “First comment in and might be a bit too truthful…probably stop there for the day.”
      Jamie is no stranger to Radio 1, having stood in on a number of shows previously.
      Reacting to his new role earlier in the week, Jamie said: “I’ve loved every minute that I’ve been on air with Radio 1 in recent years, so to be joining Vick on Drivetime is just incredible.

      RADIO 1 legend Jordan North has QUIT the show and has been replaced by Jamie Laing after ten years on the BBC.The Made In Chelsea legend, 35, is going to co-host the Going Home show Monday to Thursday from Monday 4 March.

      Speaking ahead of his new venture with the Beeb, Jamie said: “I’ve loved every minute that I’ve been on air with Radio 1 in recent years, so to be joining Vick on Drivetime is just incredible.
      “To be working with Vick is an absolute dream so I’m beyond excited to get started and keep listeners company on their journeys home.”
      It comes as The Sun exclusively revealed Jordan’s big move to a rival station.
      This isn’t the first time that Jamie has appeared on the radio.

      The star currently co-hosts Radio 1’s podcast 6 Degrees with Jamie and Spencer for BBC Sounds.
      The reality favourite has also covered Mollie King on Radio 1 while she was on maternity leave.
      Not only that, he has his own podcast NewlyWeds with Sophie Habboo.

      Socialite Spencer Matthews, born on August 6, 1989, is the son of landowner David Matthews and successful artist Jane Matthews.
      His brother James Matthews is married to Kate Middleton’s sister Pippa and is the heir to a Scottish title, Laird of Glen Afraig – which is a glen located in the village of Cannich in the Highlands.

      Reality star Spencer was put through a tip-top education at Eton, and split his childhood between St Barths and Caunton Maon in Lincolnshire.

      Tragically, Spencer’s oldest brother Michael died in a mountaineering accident in 1999 on Mount Everest, just hours after becoming the youngest Briton to conquer the peak.
      To honour his late brother, Spencer fronted the Disney+ documentary Finding Michael.
      The film saw him travel to Everest to try and find his brother’s body.
      Speaking exclusively to The Sun in 2023, Spencer explained the importance of making the documentary.
      He told us: “It was important for me to get my head around the fact I might come face-to-face with my brother’s frozen body.
      “I spoke to a therapist before going there because I knew it was going to be a gut-wrenching and emotional journey.

      Reality TV star Louise Thompson – famous for appearing on Made In Chelsea with her brother Sam – nearly died twice in childbirth in December 2021.
      Her son Leo-Hunter was in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) while she was treated in the adult ICU after the birth.
