Who is Dionne Warwick and how old is she?
Dionne Warwick was born on December 12, 1940, in Orange, New Jersey.
She’s not only a legendary singer but also an actress, a television personality, and, most recently, a social media star.
Dionne is from a musical family – she began singing gospel as a child at The New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey.
She is also the cousin of the late singer Whitney Houston; her aunt is gospel vocalist Cissy Houston, Whitney Houston’s mother.

Dionne is best known for challenging the racial barriers between African-American women and pop music.
Before her, black women were known for singing R&B and gospel music, but that changed forever when she won a Grammy Award in the Best Pop Music category in 1968.
She also is known for her work as an activist.
She was the former United Nations Global Ambassador for the Food and Agriculture Organization and the US Ambassador of Health.

She was outspoken about the HIV and AIDS crisis and donated millions of dollars to research by donating all of the money earned from her song, That’s What Friends Are For.
Dionne’s most famous hits include: Walk On By, Alfie, That’s What Friends Are For, Don’t Make Me Over, I’ll Never Love This Way Again, and Do You Know the Way to San Jose.
Has Dionne won any Grammy Awards?
Dionne is a five-time Grammy Award-winning recording artist.
She released two albums in 2019 and won a lifetime-achievement Grammy.
Dionne is currently in the midst of her One Last Time tour, although she hasn’t announced whether it will be her last.
In an interview with The New York Times, Dionne said she’d move to Brazil when she is ready to retire – but clearly, that’s not today.
She said the name for her documentary came from her very first recording, a song called, Don’t Make Me Over.
She also said that’s one of the first things she recalls saying to her songwriting and production duo, Burt Bacharach and Hal David.
She said that she told them: “That was something that they could never, ever do. Don’t even try to change me or make me over.”

The documentary features interviews with Snoop Dogg, Bill Clinton, Stevie Wonder, and Alicia Keys, among other stars whom the songstress has touched.

Dionne has hopes for the documentary, too.
“I’m hoping that people will finally get to know me, and not think they know me. They’ll get to know Dionne,” she said.

The U.S. Sun confirmed the news on Thursday.
True to form, Larry, 76, released a statement about the end, featuring several self-deprecating shots.
“As Curb comes to an end, I will now have the opportunity to finally shed this ‘Larry David’ persona and become the person God intended me to be — the thoughtful, kind, caring, considerate human being I was until I got derailed by portraying this malignant character.
“And so ‘Larry David,’ I bid you farewell. Your misanthropy will not be missed. And for those of you who would like to get in touch with me, you can reach me at Doctors Without Borders.”

The final season will consist of 10 episodes, releasing weekly on Sundays at 10 pm.
It will premiere on February 4, leading up to the series finale on April 7.
    LARRY’S LEGEND
Fans instantly flooded X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, to mourn the loss.
“The end of an era,” one person said, as another sobbed: “I’m not ready.”

A third person tacked on: “Don’t know what I’m going to do with my life after Curb Your Enthusiasm ends.”
“One last ride for the king of television,” a fourth concluded. “Mixed emotions but can’t wait to watch.”
Larry’s contract with HBO is soon to expire, making the timing to wind the show down ideal.
Network executives mourned the end of the show as well.
“It’s hard to say farewell to such a ground-breaking, brilliantly funny and iconic series like Curb Your Enthusiasm, which has left its mark across television and the comedy genre,” Casey Bloys, the Content Chairman and CEO of HBO & Max shared. “Working alongside Larry David and Jeff Schaffer as well as all of the comedic masterminds that comprise our producers, cast and crew has been a joy that I will always treasure.”
    NOTHING IN RETURN?
Meanwhile, there is speculation that as Larry David is ending Curb, he could be headed back for a reunion of another show about nothing.
At his October stand-up show in Boston, Seinfeld star Jerry Seinfeld teased that the smash series could be making a comeback.
Larry co-created the show with Jerry more than 25 years ago.
The 69-year-old entertainer hinted to his audience that he had a “little secret” regarding Seinfeld’s contentious series finale in 1998.
Jerry admitted that “something is going to happen that has to do with that ending,” which implied that a revamp of Seinfeld is in the works.

Although it hasn’t happened yet, Jerry informed the crowd that he and Larry have been thinking about rebooting the series.
“And just what you are thinking about, Larry and I have also been thinking about, so you’ll see… you’ll see,” Jerry said.

How Matthew Perry’s estate will be pivotal in deciding future of Friends as $425million contract is set to end

MATTHEW Perry’s estate will be pivotal in deciding on any deal for Friends to get a major do-over during the smash hit show’s 30th anniversary, The U.S. Sun has learned.Perry’s untimely death in October at 54 rocked the rest of the cast ahead of what will be a major milestone next year.

Following the success of the Friends reunion special, which aired on HBO Max in 2021, a well-placed Hollywood source said that Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer have been leading the charge for something similar to be negotiated in 2024.
The show’s $425 million five-year exclusive deal with Max is set to expire next year, and after that, it could head back to its previous streaming home Netflix in 2025, the insider revealed.
Aniston, 54, Schwimmer, 57, and castmates Courteney Cox, 59, and Lisa Kudrow, 60, are all part owners of the franchise.
But Perry’s estate is also expected to get a say in any decision on where Friends goes next.

The source told The U.S. Sun: “There had been brainstorming on what to do for the show’s 30th anniversary when Matthew passed away, and of course Matthew’s passing changes everything.
“While a big budget TV special is unlikely, a return of the show to Netflix when the Max deal expires is much more probable.
“Even though the show has been one of Max’s biggest successes, Netflix would make it available to a much bigger US and global audience again.
“It all comes down to the deal and the cast, as well as Matthew’s estate.

“They have ownership points in the show, meaning they will get a vote on what happens to the series and whether it gets a major do-over.
“Netflix would be ideal because they have deep pockets and the biggest subscriber base on the planet, but another scenario could see Max and Netflix share the rights on a duo-exclusive basis.
“Everything is on the table but the cast is interested in not just the biggest deal, but in reaching the biggest audience.
“Their work has stood the test of time and announcing that they are putting it in front of millions of new viewers on its 30th anniversary would be a great way to mark three decades of Friends.
“And of course if means another giant payday for all of the profit participants.”
    ‘HONOR MATTHEW’
Friends originally aired for 10 seasons on NBC from September 1994 to May 2004, becoming one of the most iconic TV shows of that era and a hit with audiences worldwide.
The series reached a new generation of fans after Warner Bros. TV agreed to a $30 million a year deal with Netflix in late 2014.
But Netflix lost the US streaming rights in May 2020 to HBO Max (now known just as Max) and has since lost it in other large international regions, too.
Perry played the beloved character Chandler Bing on the show.
The actor was found unresponsive in a jacuzzi following an apparent drowning at his home in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles on October 28.
The star had been very open about his past struggles with drink and drugs addiction.
Initial toxicology reports found there was no meth or fentanyl in his system, though his cause of death remains unconfirmed while more detailed testing is carried out.
However, his ex-girlfriend Kayti Edwards told The U.S. Sun earlier this month that she fears that he had suffered a prescription pill relapse.
Following his death, the Friends cast joined his friends and family for his funeral at Forest Lawn cemetery – opposite the Warner Bros. studios where they filmed the show together.
The U.S. Sun’s source said it’s likely that Perry’s death will lead the surviving cast to revive their Friends Helping Friends charity benefit.
The original fundraiser took place while the show was still in its original run.
With Perry’s family overseeing a new charitable foundation dedicated to helping people recover from addiction and live soberly, the cast has a highly personal charity they can focus on.
The insider said: “Given Matthew’s tragic passing, his charitable foundation, and his whole legacy, is front-of-mind for the cast.
“They want it to thrive and it has a good chance to because Matthew’s estate is so valuable and will make money from Friends and his other work for years to come.
“The cast has a clear opportunity here to raise money for Matthew’s foundation and bring back their Friends Helping Friends charity benefit at some point in 2024.
“I don’t think that will be the only way they honor Matthew and the show’s 30-year milestone, but it would still make a huge impact.
“They also all want to talk publicly on camera about Matthew at some point, but emotions are still way too raw for that right now.
“They’re all still grieving, big time.”

Streaming soon: new HBO series to watch now that ‘Succession’ is over

    Life

    by Camille Macawili

A painful reality we all live in nowadays is trying to fill the void when our favourite TV series ends.
Hot off the spectacular ending of Succession, HBO is already on a roll to release its next hit drama, The Idol. From Euphoria to White Lotus to its latest hit Succession — we can’t help but get excited with the premise The Idol brings.
The brainchild of Abel Tesfaye (formerly) known as The Weeknd, this series has been co-created with Euphoria‘s Sam Levinson and Iranian creative producer Reza Fahim. It hit its world premiere at the 76th Cannes Film Festival this year — screening the first two episodes, sparking conversations ahead of the first episode streaming which airs on June 4, 2023.

The scandalous plot is based on “the sleaziest love story in Hollywood”, tells The Weeknd, who plays as a self-help guru and modern-day cult leader. He brainwashes Jocelyn, a troubled pop star, played by Lily Rose-Depp into a clichéd dangerous world of illegal substances and everything in between. While it’s nowhere near original nor disruptive, it is still worth watching a few more episodes for the ensembles and the vibe.
The star-studded production also features pop singer Troye Sivan, K-pop star Jennie Ruby Jane of Blackpink, Dan Levy, Eli Roth, and more.
