    Sheikh Hamdan embraces the spirit of Onam 2023

    In a delightful show of cultural appreciation, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum took to Instagram yesterday to share his experience of enjoying the festivities of Onam.
    His Highness Sheikh Hamdan is known for his inquisitiveness towards different cultures and experiencing them. This time, the Crown Prince of Dubai was spotted celebrating Onam, a festival celebrated in the Southern state of India.
    Through captivating visuals on his Instagram story, the royal depicted his involvement in the vibrant celebration. Engaging in the authenticity of the occasion, he relished the Onam Sadhya, where a variety of traditional dishes are served on a bed of banana leaves.

    What is Onam?
    The Onam Festival, deeply rooted in the heart of the southern Indian state of Kerala, marks a jubilant and cherished harvest gala. Unfolding across a period of over ten days, this event pays tribute to the legendary King Mahabali and resonates with the spirit of the region. Traditional garments, resplendent flower arrangements, and lavish banquets shape the essence of Onam, which magnificently mirrors the rich culture of Kerala.
    What is an Onam Sadhya?
    Onam Sadhya is a traditional vegetarian feast served in Kerala, India, during the festival of Onam. It consists of a variety of dishes served on a banana leaf and typically includes rice, sambar, avial (mixed vegetable dish), olan (ash gourd and coconut stew), thoran (stir-fried vegetables), and payasam (sweet dessert). The meal is known for its elaborate and diverse flavors, and it holds cultural and social significance in Kerala.
    As an avid traveller, Sheikh hamdan is constantly seen partaking in the custom and traditions of different countries during his various expeditions. Whether its exploring the culinary depths of Japan by uncovering the hidden street gems or making the most of his Yokshire vacation by dressing up like an English gentleman – the Crown Prince knows how to navigate the land as a local.

      Summer in the UAE is unusually quiet as everyone is trying to escape the scorching heat. Travelling is on everyone’s agenda (including the Royals).
      This time of the year, Royals from the region are found enjoying their escapades in different parts of the world. From spending downtime in the Britain countryside to marvelling at the beauty of the French Riviera in Cannes, it is their downtime before resorting back to serving the people.
      2023 was no different — earlier this month, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was spotted on the streets of London, meeting and greeting his ardent admirers. Taking a stroll in Hyde Park, eating at popular joints and mingling with the locals, the Dubai ruler sure knows how to win hearts.

      Speaking of ruling from the heart, the Crown Prince of Dubai was also captured in kindness when he made an overwhelmed fan smile with his gesture, while on holiday. Fazza was spotted making a crying fan laugh in a video, after she couldn’t contain her excitement.

      When it comes to engaging with the monarchy across the world, there’s a set of rules one must always engage in. The UAE Royals are known for humanising the bond they share with their people beyond the protocol.
      Recently, HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE was also seen interacting with a large crowd in Egypt, sans any security. His Highness patiently obliged for pictures and spoke to the people without a security guard in sight, during his visit to the North Coast of Egypt.
      It is inspiring to see the leaders from this part of the world, sharing their kindness everywhere they go.

      Dubai’s Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum loves sharing glimpses of his life on Instagram.
      In his most recent post, he shared an adorable throwback image of him and his younger brother His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum from their childhood together.

      Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is the Minister of Finance of UAE, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Media Incorporated. The royal was named as deputy ruler in February 2008 when his elder brother His Highness Sheikh Hamdan was made crown prince.
      Reminiscing his childhood, Fazza posted a picture of the brothers dressed in matching outfits of traditional kandura with brown leather jackets. Captioned with a simple heart, the picture gave his 15.6 million ardent followers a peek into his early life.
      Making it a lucky day for the fans, Sheikh Hamdan also posted a picture from his High School reunion, where the crown prince and his friends share a moment.
      Fazza did his schooling in Dubai at the Rashid School For Boys and then at the Dubai School of Government. For his higher studies he moved to the United Kingdom, where he continued his education at  Sandhurst. After which, he graduated from the London School of Economics.

      After welcoming his third child this month, Dubai’s Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum shared a new set of portrait images with his father today.
      In the sweet post, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai is seen holding the little one with a smile on his face.
      In the newly released portraits shared on Sheikh Hamdan’s Instagram, the caption said, “May Allah protect them.”

      While His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is one of the key figureheads of this nation, he’s also a family man at heart, particularly when it comes to spending time with his grandchildren.
      Known for sharing snippets of his daily life to his 15.4 million social media followers, Sheikh Hamdan – fondly known as Fazza, shared the delightful news via an Instagram Story this month.
      The story included a pair of hands holding tiny feet with the caption “It’s a boy” and underneath went along with a special prayer that translates to: “Dear God make him bloom well and make him the sight of our eyes and make him a blessing for us.”
      The third child
      After already being a father to a set of twins who were born in May 2021, Fazza announced that the newborn’s name Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum was welcomed into the family this month.
