Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall delays solo album to form surprise songwriting partnership with indie pop legend
THEY are part of two of the biggest pop groups of the past decade.Now Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall and Dan Smith from Bastille have teamed up to become a powerhouse songwriting duo.

We can reveal the pair spent time together on a writing camp this year making songs which they have been offering to a raft of other acts.
A source said: “Jade and Dan have met each other a few times over the years when they’ve been at the same events.
“But they weren’t really mates until they ended up on this retreat together with a load of other songwriters and they teamed up to come up with ideas.
“They hit it off and produced some strong tracks. Some of them have already been offered to other artists, so it’s only a matter of time before they get snapped up.

“They have both been busy writing for their own projects too, with Jade making her debut solo album and Dan shaping Bastille’s fifth LP, so they could well pop up with those records too.”
Dan rose to fame in the group a decade ago and has had success with tracks including Of The Night, Happier with Marshmello and Pompeii, which has racked up 3.3billion streams globally.
But he has also worked on tunes for Craig David, Tears For Fears, James Arthur and Rag ‘N’ Bone Man.
Jade, as well as co-writing many of Little Mix’s most memorable hits, has been involved in penning tracks for Britney Spears, Billy Porter and K-pop group Twice.

We first told in March how she had signed a deal with RCA Records to launch her solo career but that is yet to materialise more than 18 months after Little Mix went on hiatus.
Fans have been patiently waiting for music and she has teased on social media that it will be out “soon”.
Jade was undoubtedly the group’s best songwriter so we have high hopes for what she has in store.
We can only hope the delay in going solo is that she’s just got far too many great tunes to choose from.

Joy for Jodie
JODIE Comer made a whopping £300 per minute on stage in her West End and New York show Prima Facie.
The Killing Eve star received rave reviews for her performance in the one-woman show, which ran in London from April to June 2022 then transferred to Broadway from April to July in 2023.

In total she raked in more than £1million from the play.
The sum takes the total in her acting firm to £3million, according to documents filed at Companies House.
Jodie was named the Best Actress in a Play for the role at the US Tony Awards.
She will next star in crime film The Bikeriders opposite Austin Butler.
She said in June: “A lot of this industry is sliding doors, and I do feel like I was always supposed to do that play.
“There was something almost cosmic about it.”
