This security feature, previously showcased on the Dhs1,000 note earlier this year, marks a remarkable stride in safeguarding the nation’s currency.
On one side, the new Dhs500 bill showcases the Terra Sustainability Pavilion in Expo City Dubai, an emblem of the country’s commitment to environmental consciousness. Meanwhile, the reverse side paints a vivid picture of the Museum of the Future, Emirates Towers, and the iconic Burj Khalifa, standing tall at 828 meters as a beacon of sustainability with its predominant reliance on solar power.
What sets this note apart isn’t just its aesthetic appeal; it’s a testament to the UAE’s dedication to environmental responsibility. Crafted from fully recyclable polymer, the Dhs500 bill aligns with eco-friendly principles, making it a symbolic representation of progress and sustainability.
As the nation stands on the cusp of celebrating its 52nd Union Day on December 2nd, this new banknote not only captures the essence of modernity and innovation but also reinforces the UAE’s commitment to security, durability, and environmental stewardship.
It’s not just currency; it’s a tangible reflection of a nation’s strides into a future marked by resilience and responsibility.

Find out how much it costs to advertise on the world’s tallest building

    Lifestyle

    by Sarah Joseph

If you want an advertisement on one of the most-loved landmarks in Dubai it comes at a cost.
From baby shower announcements to brand advertisements, the world’s tallest tower has seen it all. Whether it’s a new collection launch or a message to shed light on any important cause, the Burj Khalifa acts as any XL advertising platform.

Per Arabian Business, movie teasers or a message on the face of the Burj Khalifa start from a cool Dhs250,000 and that will only get you three minutes’ air time.
For an extended two three-minute impression between 8pm and 10pm, the price is increased to Dhs500,000 and for five three-minute impressions any night between 7pm until midnight, the price is Dhs1 million.
To add life to any display, music and sound can also complement the advertisement for an immersive experience, making it memorable for the audience to witness.
In October 2022, a three-minute advertisement with the Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan was also on display, after an announcement about him being part of the Burjeel Holdings family was made.

Happy to join the @BurjeelHoldings family as their compassion drives world-class healthcare in the UAE. @drshamsheervp #BurjeelHoldings pic.twitter.com/kPhfGLtnQt
    — Shah Rukh Khan (@iamsrk) September 30, 2022

However, knowing the prices is only the first step of the process. An initial request with MullenLowe must be made before getting final approval from the owner of Burj Khalifa, Emaar.
After approval, a detailed creative concept is finalized four weeks prior to the advertisement with upfront payment before it goes live.

In pictures: Futuristic new project transforms the Downtown Dubai skyline

    Lifestyle

    by Sarah Joseph

When it comes to record-worthy structures Dubai has undoubtedly made its mark on the global map.
Now a new futuristic project designed by a Dubai-based architecture firm has been unveiled with a radical plan to transform the emirate’s skyline.
Znera Space, Najmus Chowdry and Nils Remess, released a series of photos on Instagram outlining the project which features a circular megastructure surrounding the Burj Khalifa, suspended half a kilometre above the ground level of Downtown Dubai.

The architects have proposed a giant 550-metre tall ring that will have a three-kilometre circumference supported by five massive pillars. The span of the circle will consist of two rings that will be held together by a continuous green belt named the Skypark.
The project was coined by the architects during the COVID-19 pandemic in a bid to combat the density of Dubai living, championing the notion of “vertical urbanism”.

“As a response to the dilemma of how to build densely while retaining liveability, the downtown circle project establishes a sustainable and a self-sufficient vertical urbanism,” the founders said on Instagram.
With sustainability as its main requisite, the mega-complex “aims to create a hyper-efficient urban centre that gives back to the environment”.
Skypark will act as a support to this impressive structure by bringing nature to life. Featuring swamps, waterfalls, tropical vegetation, and more, the concept will focus on sustainability through rainwater harvesting, solar power and filtering pollutants for clean air.

With 360-degree views of the city, a tram on the outer perimeter ring is also part of the concept with twenty spacious pods travelling up to 100 kilometres per hour, conceptualised in collaboration with Pictown.
If the project does ever get the green light, would this be a place where you’d consider living?
