Radio 1 thrown into chaos as Greg James plays ‘sex tape’ live on air

RADIO 1 was thrown into complete chaos as a “sex tape” appeared to play out live on air.

Breakfast show anchor Greg James, 38, was understandably red-faced after the prank involving a male caller.

He rung in to the station and announced: “i’m here,” before Greg replied: “You’re here!

“But but but what time is it?”

There was a loud pause before sex tape scenes of a woman moaning could be heard.

Greg let out a loud sigh and said: “Urgh OK,” before swiftly closing down the call.

Yet the deed was already done – with many listeners taking to X to comment on their fury that it had interrupted the segment.

One wrote: “My take: it’s such a crap prank.”

A second put: “Genuinely boring, unimaginative, and tedious now,” as a third continued: “About as funny as a nail being hammered into a hand.”

One then added: “If you’re gonna do a prank, at least be original with it.”

It came after the same audio clip was used on a Match Of The Day prank in January.

It left host Gary Lineker lost for words as it played out during FA Cup coverage of Wolves versus Liverpool, when pranksters hid a phone on the set.

It was later revealed that a notorious prankster had hidden a mobile phone on the TV set at Molineux.

Daniel Jarvis, who is a serial pitch invader, then activated the sexy sounds ring-tone simply by ringing the mobile as he watched the live pictures on BBC1.

It came shortly after Greg appeared to throw shade at Jordan North, who left the station last week.

Last week, The Sun exclusively told how Jordan, 34, had signed a big money deal to join Global after quitting Radio 1.

Yet breaking his silence on the Yorkshire star’s new big-money deal at Capital he said: “Enjoy the money Jane.”

Greg, who has been hosting the breakfast show since 2018, also made it clear he was staying put and in another dig, he posted a picture of earplugs and wrote: “Renewed my breakfast show contract so bought myself a little something to celebrate.”
