Celine Dion reveals she’s been diagnosed with incurable Stiff Person Syndrome at 54

It will follow the It’s All Coming Back to Me Now singer as she battles on while trying to restart her touring career.

The 55-year-old went public with the extremely rare neurological disorder in 2022 before she cancelled all dates in her Courage world tour.

Revealing the documentary, titled ‘I Am: Celine Dion’, the Canadian star said: “This last couple of years has been such a challenge for me, the journey from discovering my condition to learning how to live with and manage it, but not to let it define me.

“As the road to resuming my performing career continues, I have realised how much I have missed it, of being able to see my fans.

“During this absence, I decided I wanted to document this part of my life, to try to raise awareness of this little-known condition, to help others who share this diagnosis.”

The special will be directed by Oscar-nominee Irene Taylor and will be available to stream in over 240 countries.

Prime Video has not yet revealed when exactly the documentary will be available to stream.

Last year Celine’s sister Claudette issued a health update on her famous sibling.

She revealed how Dion had lost control of her muscles.

Claudette said: “She’s working hard, but she doesn’t have control over her muscles. What breaks my heart is that she’s always been disciplined.

“She’s always worked hard. Our mother always told her ‘You’re going to do it well, you’re going to do it properly.”

Speaking to 7 Jours, Claudette added: “It’s true that in both our dreams and hers, the goal is to return to the stage. In what capacity? I don’t know.”
