Stuart Broad, born June 24, 1986, is a former England cricketer.

During his 17-year glittering career, Broad’s cricketing highlights include taking 8-15 at Trent Bridge in the 2015 Ashes in one of the best-ever spells of bowling, and scoring 169 with the bat vs Pakistan at Lord’s in 2010 – long before his “Nighthawk” role.

Broad and Mollie started dating in London in 2012 and spent New Year’s Eve together, but later split.

Five years later, the couple got back together in 2018.

On January 1, 2021, Broad got down on one knee and proposed to Mollie, with the singer and radio presenter saying yes.

  • Mollie’s fears

Mollie, 36, told Radio 1 breakfast star Greg James earlier that she feared she wouldn’t make it.

She said: “It’s tough, it’s really tough. I’m drained I feel like I haven’t had any kind of recovery since getting off the bike.

“My muscles are just like, ‘oh we’re doing this again?’ It’s pretty brutal. I think at the start there was so much excitement and adrenalin that kept me going and now I’m drained. It feels like every push of that peddle feels like more of a struggle.”

Mollie King was in floods of tears this morning after being told how much money she’d raised so far for Red Nose Day.

The Radio 1 presenter has swapped her mic for a bike to cycle a staggering 500km cycle across England.

Mollie could be heard sobbing into her microphone on the radio and said: “Salford. The thought of getting there tonight, is that going to happen? It’s just so tiring, it’s so hard.”

Greg told her: “There are horrible lows in these things, but there will be incredible highs. Think of other things, don’t think of Salford.

“The money raised is extraordinary, this might give you the boost that you need for the next half hour.

“The total so far for Peddle Power for Comic Relief is £181,023.”

  • What did Mollie say before setting off on her journey?

Speaking to the BBC, Mollie said: “Just over a year ago, I suddenly lost my dad. It came about very unexpectedly. He was diagnosed with a brain tumour and passed away three months later.

“It’s still really hard to talk about – I hate talking about him in the past tense. But when I was asked to do this, I thought I have to do it.”

“I want to help people who are struggling, and that is exactly what Comic Relief does. They are amazing. They help people who are homeless, struggling with poverty and struggling with bereavement – amongst so many other things.”
