The show is based on the 2015 data hacking of dating site Ashley Madison.

The site was subject to a data breach and the personal information of millions of users was released to the public.

In July 2015 an unknown person or group calling itself “The Impact Team” announced they had stolen the user data of Ashley Madison.

The hacker copied personal information about the site’s user base and threatened to release users’ names and personal identifying information if the site would not immediately shut down.

The personal date of 2,500 people was initially released but the company first denied that they were under threat.

Many users were worried about their extra-marital relationships being exposed due to the site’s lack of adequate date security.

Information such as real names, home addresses, search history and credit card transaction records was released.

On August 18 and 20 more than 60 gigabytes of company data was publicly released, including user details.

The released data even included personal information about users who had paid the site to delete their personal information, since the company had not deleted the data that they claimed to have erased.
